Who is creating masternodes when nobody is buying? It can't just be coins generated by nodes. Weird.

The 24 hour volume is 164 BTC. That corresponds to 16 nodes worth of collateral for one day only.

Over a week, it's around 1000 nodes worth, so there appears to be easily enough changing hands of coin supply to account for the network growth that's being observed.

Even if it didn't, people can sit with their holdings for months before doing anything about it - I did. Lots of people haven't a clue where to start and then eventually get to first base etc.

Anything and everything can happen.

Hi guys,

In case you haven't heard: after more than 3 years of experience with bitcoin exchange, we've opened an exchange dedicated to Dash:

https://dashcurex.com

We support 3 pairs:

BTC/DASH
USD/DASH
PLN/DASH

Why this currency and a service specializing in Dash? We believe that it is a project with a very big potential, bringing many new solutions that can contribute to the development of the entire cryptocurrency community. We believe that it deserves publicity and support, also from exchange markets, without which popularizing this currency would be difficult. We think that a platform that puts Dash first can help in just that.

We made sure to make it easy for Bitcurex users to quickly and conveniently start using Dashcurex: the existing Bitcurex account can be exported to Dashcurex, keeping the same login, password and PIN. It is also possible to transfer traditional currencies between the two services in real time. The available currency pairs are DASH/PLN and DASH/USD.

Check out this guide:

https://bitcurex.com/page/dash

The mechanics of the service and the transactional API are fully analogous to Bitcurex. Soon, Dashcurex will also support InstantX deposits and withdrawals.

Hope you like it!

interesting, does anyone currently use this exchange?

I've used it, and I have been in contact with them. They are big Dash supporters, starting the Dash-only exchange, and supporting InstantX in the near future. I'm maintaining awareness in this thread and on Twitter, because it is important IMHO that we have our own exchange that we can direct people to. Here's my guide to using Dashcurex:

TAO'S DASHCUREX.COM GUIDE FOR DUMMIES:

- Create account at Dashcurex.com.
- Fill out profile information.
- Under Settings, find Export Profile to Bitcurex.
- You now have an account at Bitcurex with the same login info.
- Buy Dash: Send Bitcoin to Bitcurex. Under Balances, click send to Dashcurex. Your BTC arrive in Dashcurex immediately.
- Sell Dash: Send Dash to Dashcurex. Sell for BTC. Under balances, click send to Bitcurex. Your BTC arrive at Bitcurex immediately. Withdraw as normal. (First time addresses must wait 48 hrs.)

Note 1. You can be logged into the two sites simultaneously.
Note 2. I have asked for a switch to Bitcurex feature, or the ability to send BTC from Dashcurex. I'm sure that functionality will come eventually.

OMG.

Didn't had the oportunity to use InstanTX with new version, and just used it, and it is fucking incredible. Less than 1s, just the time to click on the "Transaction Tab" and it's already confirmed!!! (and 100% success rate)

This is so so amazing!

Agreed. It's important to remember that it takes time to bring up multiple masternodes, so it's entirely possible that people have been sitting on the necessary coins for awhile before acting. There's also the possibility of OTC trades putting non-MN funds in the hands of future MN owners.

 Cool

The new system for sending around IX messages and the new sub-quorum implementation is really nice. There are lots of little improvements.

The Bitcoin-based cryptocurrency Dash has recently become the first full DAO with the release of a distributed governance and project funding system called "Decentralized Governance By Blockchain." In this system, the owners of masternodes vote on funding proposals. Anyone can submit such a proposal, and if approved by the masternode owners, the project will be paid automatically by the Dash protocol. The planned emission rate of the currency never changes, because 10% of the block rewards are held back by the network to fund the creation of these superblocks.

Looks like DASH made the wiki page for DAOs. Apparently, we are the first DAO cryptocurrency. Thoughts?

How is the v13 going to make coins anon by default? Is that going to be done by mixing? If yes it would mean every user will have to wait for his coins to be ready to spent, right?

i'm having happy thoughts (as Dash got mentioned there), although the "extremely low profitability" sounds a bit off

Dash Full nodes vs Bitcoin Full nodes

It was recently brought to my attention a very important fact about the comparison between Dash full nodes and Bitcoin full nodes.

So far we have been comparing the number of Masternodes or Dash collateralized full nodes with the total number of Bitcoin full nodes. But Bitcoin is really counting any full node in that number, meaning anyone running a core client with the full blockchain in it.  In Dash there are plenty of people running core clients with the full blockchain on them that are not masternodes. As an example, I am running a non Masternode full node right now here in my laptop as a day to day wallet.

In consequence, our network is really closer in size to Bitcoin's than we realize, in order to the determine the real size of the Dash network we would have to add the masternode count to the regular full node count, using something similar to Bitnodes. I wonder what the real number of Dash full nodes is?

I'm seeing all sorts of stuff happening in the charts all at once, which is a great sign when you see a bunch of bullish formations at once. This is how I used to day trade for my firm back in the day. The general idea here is you go from the shortest time period, then you walk out to the longest. If you see bullish or bearish signals in all of the charts at once, it's quite meaningful. Here's what I'm seeing:

On the really short term chart, there's a triple top:

Moving averages are crossing as we speak, so momentum is changing from negative to positive:

If you step out a bit, It looks like we're going to cross in a couple days, for a much more meaningful MA

If we break above 0.011, I believe this was a false breakdown

When trading, there's also a couple other things to consider:
- The order book on the buy side, which is quite nice.
- Then there's the fundamental side for the trade (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GACaNvBlwc, The budget system and governance system? Plus everything we're about to do)

Away, that was fun.... back to coding

I was asked by Daniel to make that addition to the DAO Wikipedia page. I chose that section because Bitcoin was already there =)

Yes, also agree.  Especially the sub-quorum stuff.  Cheesy  (I don't actually know what that is, but it sure works.)  It is so fast that it is hard to measure.

I did however check the "send zero-fee transaction if possible" and it won't send via InstantX when this is checked.  I suggest that zero-fee box is mutually exclusive with InstantX.  (you can only check one or the other - not both)

I will predict that instead of InstantX being an option, it will be standard with all transactions.
