no pump. just profit taking. And it seems like it's falling again.
Profit taking. It's normal. I sold 1000 at 0.0019. Am I like a pro trader now? Ahh, where are the times when I was selling 10000 DRK for 0.25 BTC. hahaha! I have to thank you for that! I will definitely remember you when/if I ever sell.

Hate to bring this up again but I don't think the name really matters in the long run. General users will probably call all cryptocurrencies Bitcoin if they ever bring up a transaction in conversation. It will be the Hoover or Kleenex of crypto. They'll say, "I paid with Bitcoin" even if they used DarkCoin or LiteCoin.
It will just be a brand name to them and they'll use the one that best suits their needs. If they don't like their transactions being public knowledge, I think they'll use DarkCoin, otherwise they'll use Bitcoin.
Yes I can see that. Hell I always tell people I am mining bitcoins even though it's alt coins. It's just easier and they know what bitcoins are for the most part _______________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________ Next Coin Lite - Fair Distribution

This coin has so much upside I don't know why people are trying to nickel and dime trade this thing. I can't predict the future but there seems the potential for Darkcoin to actually be used as a currency for goods. That's what Aururacoin has going for it. Just the thought that it will be adopted for use. I hope the dev team knocks this out of the ballpark... not just in fiat value but in real world use. It could change the world, much like Bitcoin did last year.

I love the short termers who cry when the price falls. They expect a steady rise without corrections. Learn some economics and learn how "healthy" it is for prices to skyrocket without corrections. Love me some retards on this thread who think they'll be millionaires in a day.

I've been with this coin now for a week or so. It looks great and I have high hopes for it. Mining is pretty tough, but I will keep at it! Any donations are greatly appreciated XwbqNLswHQbJkwWJJHBLApHiQrbYRY7gWT

Would you think it would be wise to day trade half of my darks per day in hopes in acquiring more? I do want to hold but if i can gain more darks along the way it would be perfect. I just dont want to see a huge skyrocket train and a dump

You were selling when DRK was just on a google docs spreadsheet! I couldn't get any bitcoin anywhere so I started mining them, which turned out to be a great result. Also for everyone debating a name change.. It's not gonna happen, just stop arguing. Personally, I can't wait for a CNN news anchor lady to say 'You've all heard about bitcoin by now, but there has been some new development in the world of 'cryptocurrencies', with the release of a so called 'Dark' coin, which is said to have anonymous transactions. Cue 99% of people aged 16 to 35 getting excited, especially with all the NSA surveillance going on. Unfortunately Evan being american... he's gonna disappear at some point, I gave him a codeword though in case he was ever compromised. We're good to go.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5424980#msg5424980

With the flood of supply. We need slow inflation. Does anybody know the time and rate of coin increase?

The more miners there are, the slower the rate of increase because block reward is inversely proportional to difficulty^2 (plus a large constant term that currently dominates). There's no fixed halving structure in this coin.

Finally setup my own p2pool (thanks for the source!).
Pro tip for those connecting to p2pool, adding difficulty manually in sgminer (payoutaddress+difficulty) really makes it all around more efficient.

The general price trend is upward. Selling to take any profits or to reduce losses is for those trading.
Looking at what DRK is about to release, its a hodl. DarkSend is just a killer app that none of the other coins have.

Yeah, not sure what ppl expect but I'm pretty sure a lot of people just try to make a day to day profit. Which, I think the drk community knows better - because we expect this to go beyond $10 and risking losing coin because we're trying to play to market seems like a bad idea.
I'm sure some ppl do it to success. I tried it a little - now my coin is caught up at c-cex still and I'm losing out more then I would have gained.

World's First Completely Anonymous Coin or World's First Truly Anonymous Coin
I had this exact same thought yesterday. Needs some differentiation between coins which claim anonymity and DRK, which is TRULY anonymous. "World's First Truly Anonymous Coin" gets my vote. Explain the decentralized, zero-trust nature of Darksend in the first post and how that is different from the current "anonymizer" features of a couple other coins. I agree with this. Way too many coins nowadays claiming anonymity based on a very loose interpretation. Many people still don't understand that the bitcoin protocol only makes tracing a hassle, but nowhere near impossible.

I am also not convinced yet that Darkcoin is anywhere near impossible to prove trace for the people we really want out of tracing it. Where is the proof? I'm not saying this sarcastically like "LoL THERE IS NO PROOF!"!""111", but I actually want to read if if there is proof!
