I just wanted to say that after DarkSend, I have something amazing up my sleeve. I think this next project will actually define Darkcoin, plus it requires being built on top of a p2p currency to function correctly (and it's privacy centric...) . I don't want to say more, because I want to a ways into the development before I announce it I've been thinking about how to do this for months and just figured out the logistics of how it would work this morning... very excited Is it bad that I touch myself to this? Maybe pinching would be less X-rated Something smells fishy here. I'm like mainly mining because of DarkSend. That's it, that's all I need to put my rigs on duty. Now we have DarkX that will define Darkcoin, if that wasn't DarkSend? What's better than e-cash? If you can make e-cocaine, then I'm selling my house to buy more DRK. nah. Rather e-LSD since LSD has no negative physical effects compared to cocaine Except for the flash-backs that can happen years later, LOL There a lot of mental things that are horrible for almost every drug hence I don't ues them. But we should stop chatting

Why is people still mining this with 35% profitability compared to LTC?
Obviously you haven't seen this or you wouldn't even be asking that: Darkcoin mining profitability model. The algorithm begins with the n+1 bit state . That is, the first n bits are each in the state and the final bit is . A Hadamard transformation is applied to each bit to obtain the state We have the function f implemented as quantum oracle. The oracle maps the state , where is addition modulo 2 (see below for details of implementation). Applying the quantum oracle gives For each x, f(x) is either 0 or 1. A quick check of these two possibilities yields At this point the last qubit may be ignored. We apply a Hadamard transformation to each qubit to obtain where is the sum of the bitwise product. Finally we examine the probability of measuring which evaluates to 1 if f(x) is constant (constructive interference) and 0 if f(x) is balanced (destructive interference). I'm gonna pee my pants here. Not sure if this was to be funny, HammerHedd, 'cause I would never know how to interpret those equations but if it were serious, when combined with my husband's quote above, it's perfect, LOL. Actually, it was meant to be a joke. That is the Deutsch-Jzsa algorithm. Why? I'll quote wikipedia: The Deutsch–Jozsa algorithm is a quantum algorithm, proposed by David Deutsch and Richard Jozsa in 1992[1] with improvements by Richard Cleve, Artur Ekert, Chiara Macchiavello, and Michele Mosca in 1998.[2] Although of little practical use, it is one of the first examples of a quantum algorithm that is exponentially faster than any possible deterministic classical algorithm. It is also a deterministic algorithm, meaning that it always produces an answer, and that answer is always correct.
Point? Why ask why we mine Darkcoin. We want to - that's why. Any explanation will do Ask a stupid question, get quantum physics...

Come and help mine darkcoin, and get a chance of winning the lottery pool. once a week 50% of the fees, will be drawn, to one lucky winner... is it your turn next? Pool Pays Witdrawal fee: 0.0 Please spread your hashing power, we dont want 1 pool to have >50% Dedicated pool, we only run Darkcoin mining DDOS Protected pool, resistant to: fake shares & scrypt ddos Only time stratum goes down is for VERY short periods when updating stratum, or wallet Stable Fast Server, but dont take my word for it, see what others have said in this thread Coinmine.pl is above 50% again, please spread your hashing power if you care about the value of darkcoin, then dont go to a pool that has so high a hashing rate, investors look upon this as being risky.... Its aways more then 51%, 53,3% at this time. The probleme is not Coinmine.pl, but the code. If its not in the code, its always be a vulnerability. I just noticed something... At the moment Cinemine has 4.988GH/s -> 52.8% (according to http://darkcoin.mine.nu/poolhash.html) Net hashpower is 10.26GH/s (getnetworkhashps)! Therefore coinmine has to have 48.61% instead of 52.8%! Am I missing something?

coinmine has 4.998GH/s. getmininginfo networkhashps is 10.26GH/s. compare to getmininginfo networkhashps, coinmine has =< 50% of darkcoin network hashrate. But getmininginfo networkhashps changed with difficulty. ubuntu@ip-172-31-21-22:~$ darkcoind getmininginfo { "blocks" : 38810, "currentblocksize" : 1680, "currentblocktx" : 3, "difficulty" : 265.34067185, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "networkhashps" : 9894202960, "pooledtx" : 3, "testnet" : false }
now networkhashps is 9.89GH/s So I use sum of pool hashrate(coinmine + suchpool + mininghub + official + lottery + p2pool + cpupool) to compare. If any one want another graph(compare to getmininginfo networkhashps), I will add it.

It's never too late. "The best time to mine Darkcoin was two months ago, The second best time to mine Darkcoin is now." - Buddhist proverb

Ok, I've gone back and forth 3 times, but can't find the original post that posted this link on branding Bitcoin: http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-needs-got-milk/It's an excellent article, and I highly recommend everyone read it. I'm sorry I forgot, and couldn't locate the original post! But too good to just have it disappear.

Yes, please use a different pool than Coinmin.pl http://lotterymining.com is a SUPER pool! But most of the others are also excellent. There is NOTHING special at Coinmine.pl, they charge 1% for mining there, and at http://lotterymining.com you have a chance to win every week!

Can somebody please pinch me. I must be dreaming. ZeroCash and anyone running a zerocoin implementation (anoncoin) needs trusted third parties? Skip to ~ 24 minutes for the 'So whats the catch?# bit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXU65XsLiFkWhat am I missing from the, duh, trusted third parties needed to enable a decentralised anonymous coin and knows where trap doors are? It is only for the creation of the initial Parameters that a trusted party is needed. Once they are created, as long as the one who created it, destroys all the keys, there is no problem. It would not be too hard to setup a live video feed with live observers who verify a computer without any networking or storage devices is used, then destroyed, so that no chance of the magic keys are left. This is a trust issue for one moment in time that can and will be managed. I can think of other ways than the above, so Zerocoin and Zerocash (if it uses the same method) are definitely viable anonymity solutions. Also, the more anonymity vendors that have independent viable solutions, the better for all. The market cap of all will grow as a product of each other. The last thing we need is for us vs them sort of thing. If DRK is good (it is) and Anoncoin is good (it is) and Zerocoin is good, then combining DRK + ANC + ZERO will be that much better. Much better to have one third of a pie that is ten times bigger. Not a zero sum game at all. James

Darkcoin is opensource, however, DarkSend, is not yet. This is because the developers want to make sure it's finished, working perfectly as intended and doesn't have any unforeseen vulnerabilities before everyone adopts it. Even so, when it is open sourced, DarkSend will be difficult to implement into existing coins. The best way to get another coin with the feature will be to clone Darkcoin wholly. And we know this will happen, however we are so far in the lead, I honestly don't think it will matter. Plus our lead developer, Evan, is constantly surprising us with his amazingness, we'll always be ahead of the game! We have Evan as our lead developer, and I know of InternetApe as well, and several other people are involved but I do not know how many or if they prefer to be anonymous. Essentially, Evan drives this coin and we all help best we can

Hopefully people will eventually appreciate that as much as we do DRK is a key part of the solution. I see it as the crypto that introduces the masses to anonymity and as long as DRK community and other anonymity communities cooperate, the total market for anonymity will grow much, much faster than each going off alone. Still says 250 million on their thread?? he means max coins for DRK ? Actually, I went to their thread and saw that they decided last night on twitter to halve the rewards and in response, their coins are rising in value. So they're going somewhere from 250,000,000 to 125,000,000. Because of the predominant personality of it's namesake, I find this coin to be the most obnoxious of all the alt-coins.
