FUD The State of the UnionOld schedule...
- RC2 (magic numbers changed to darkcoin, DGW3) : May 14th - RC2 (masternode payments) : May 25th - RC3 (10 DRK limit and denominated change) : June 14th - After this, I'll find someone to vet the code and open source. - RC4 (Bugs, security issues) - Testing, then opensource The masternode issues and the 3rd fork for the 25th actually messed up the schedule. I've been rewriting much of the code masternode technology (released yesterday, if you haven't updated please do!) There's still some oddities with the election voting system that I'm going to tackle this next week. This I'll start working again on RC3 . Improvements over this mixing solution are due to include the following features: * Master Nodes These nodes handle the mixing through random selection - They are responsible for being the authority of what goes into the joined transaction each session. eduffield, 21 February 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5282966#msg5282966* I2P: I'm implementing I2P into the masternodes. We're going to have our own private network just for DarkSend. eduffield, 10 May 2014. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg6643662#msg6643662* Ring signatures are going to be implemented in V2. I will begin development immediately after I opensource V1. eduffield, 12 May 2014. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg6686819#msg6686819While ring signatures present their own compatibility problems with the core DarkSend and Master Node network, the lead developer has consider the issues and is seeking to implement adaptations: Ring Signatures, RC3 Progress Report 22 May 2014 I've had some substantial progress on DarkSend and have figured out how to make our existing system as secure as ring signatures. Vastly improved security, no bloat (from the ring signatures) and without actually having to trust new cryptography (it hasn't been extensively tested like what DarkSend uses) . So I think it'll give us a HUGE advantage in the coming months. More to come soon, I'm going to start implementing this tomorrow. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg6864666#msg6864666*IP obfuscation 12 May 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg6694377#msg6694377https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=579976.msg6335710#msg6335710https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=19955.0http://www.wired.com/2014/05/darkcoin-is-booming/http://www.coindesk.com/true-anonymity-darkcoin-king-altcoins/Like Bitcoin, only more private

I just realized that most of the darkcoins like 90+% are owned by less then 1000 people . I just realised that 90% of the FUD is posted by less than 10 trolls. I'm not trolling. Actually i belong to this 1000 people . Anyway you can check and comment this link: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/#!rich

UPDATE YOUR WALLETS.
IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE ALREADY UPDATED, CHECK YOUR VERSION.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE
Stable version (v0.9.4.6)
My wallet says "v0.9.4.6-unk-beta" is this ok I think? Before I send DRK to my wallet I always download the newest wallet. Has worked out fine so far.

I can bet the actual number is quite higher though.... You see ... top "holders" like Mintpal and Cryptsy are not ppl. Step back and think again I just realized that most of the darkcoins like 90+% are owned by less then 1000 people . Oh? Did you make some kind of survey yourself? Don´t link the block explorer. Its the list of accounts, not people. I can bet that the actual number is much smaller.

I own 6 accounts of one and 3 accounts of another coin. Does that mean im 9 people? Cool.

As Darkcoin grows, so does the need for reliable, reputable pools to help keep the growing network distributed, and trusted. HashFaster has opened a Darkcoin pool @ http://dark.hashfaster.com - Currently 1.5% PPLNS, and will lower to 1% when hashrate reaches over 1GH. Just like the other 20 pools we run, the pool is super stable, DDoS protected, and ran by the original Crypto Mining Network ( https://www.google.com/#q=crypto+mining+network) Hope you enjoy mining with us. ZC I think more miners should use p2pool construct. As this is the truly decentralized mining then, with no single point of failure. and its even much easier to use, as you don't have to register anywhere, just use a wallet address and that's it.

Is it safe to use http://paper.darkcoin.io/? How can I be sure that it doesn't steal my private key? Or that someone else can get the same one? (You don't have a lot of seconds of moving your mouse around before it's finished)

Evan promised "ring signatures in V2" Yesterday he had to back peddle and admit it couldn't be done on a Bitcoin fork. You can't trust this kind of behaviour.
Darksend is closed source, no one with half a brain would trust closed source software. I can't wait to see the math on a whitepaper.
If Evan ever comes up with something groundbreaking (will not happen) the Bitcoin devs can copy and implement it. On the other hand, they can never copy cryptonote based coins.
Well , Evan said, that he has something better than ring signatures. But if you like cryptonote there is many clones . I can tell you cryptonote can't survive a day of heavy trading and many transactions like DARKCOIN .The bloat of the cryptonote chain will be indefinite Cryptonote has a variety of issues that would make it incapable of surviving for long.. The bloating and scaling issues are very severe, along with the fact that just about anyone can simply fork Bytecoin, and make there own Cryptonote coin, just like the devs of Monero, HoneyPenny, Quazarcoin, and FantomCoin did(all bytecoin clones). They're all the same and have the exact same features and code since they're forked from Bytecoin, with just different names, no innovation=no future.

they won't. like has been said before bitcoin wont add anon-features into the protocol. if they do all achievements in terms of gov acceptance will be lost and bitcoin will be illegal in a matter of months.
