Does anyone think DRK can surpass bitcoin to be worth the most? I mean is 1000$ a coin unrealistic?

I mined about 200 DRK, but sold the nearly all of it when it went up 5x. Never thought it'd go up 20x this quickly. Wanted to buy back on a correction that never came Sad

Let this be a footnote that Drk is equal to or better than Ltc. So to sell at anything less than USD$ 50 is MADNESS!!!

I cannot condone people destroying the future wealth of themselves, their children and grandchildren.

guys, will masternode further increase the price of darkcoin?
Probably. We'll see on Sunday Smiley

I am not actually sure what it is, but what actually happens after masternode is implemented?

Anyone who owns an operational masternode will be paid a share of every new Darkcoin that is brought into existence through mining.

and to own an operational masternode requires 1000 darkcoin? how long will it stay operational for a user to own a masternode?

As long as you keep that 1000 DRK and your server up and running.

What are you guys' speculation on DRK prices after implementing masternoder?

ok I don't want to rock the boat here but if we all get filthy rich someday from this, can we agree to fly to a tropical island somewhere and congratulate each other in person? we'll arrange the meet-up in an anon chat, of course  Smiley

We can do it on my island. ;-)

Help be understand the buying depth concept a little more...

Is it better to have a big buy wall for people with the coin? Or is it better to have a big sell wall?

These charts are all very new to me.

Saw the graphic earlier with the monster, and that at least explained what they were, but now I am not sure which side I am really rooting for.

I think it can happen yes. Darkcoin is painfully exposing the limitations of other coins. People will realise that innovation > adoption. After Napster came Kazaa, then came AudioGalaxy, then some others, then came BitTorrent etc. We are the Kazaa of crypto. Bitcoin will be dead before you know it.

If bitcoin dies, we all die. VC money is flowing into Bitcoin, not darkcoin. Bitcoin doesn't need to have all the fancy features, it has the most developers, the most money flowing into it. It's the cryptocurrency gold reserve. So in a world where bitcoin is worth 10 000$ , Darkcoin can definitely be worth 1000$+.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

+1

The crypto to compare DRK most with is LTC, and DRK looks pretty damn good compared to LTC! (and I love Litecoin, just saying.. DRK is just getting started!)

Bitcoin has the most developers but they are all working on merchant refunds!!!  Merchant refunds?!?  LMAO.

All the money flowing into Btc will go straight through to Drk.  I'll tell you why, because rich people value their privacy.  Just like how Americans love Swiss bankers.

I have no plans to sell... I think this has a long way to go, but I always like to be informed with the info I see. Smiley

It is a crazy ride right now. I mined my first coin less than 60 days ago... so it is kind of surreal.

I've dropped information here and there in this thread that you could put together to figure out a good ballpark... But, I could buy a place in Beverly Hills, if I were inclined to surround myself with well-dressed douche bags... No thanks.

Go do some good with these new riches brother;  help someone who desperately needs it, who's life you can really change right now, perhaps save, while you still don't want the life of a well-dressed douche bag.  If you can't see any immediate good you could do, go visit your local sick children's hospital... you'll be blown away by what you see, by the chances you discover to help the most helpless.  And I'm not saying any of this to preach or whatever, but cause I've done something similar just last year; i made sure each of the kids on the Cancer ward at our hospital got whatever it was they most wanted/had asked Santa to bring em for Christmas.  It's not easy though man, it'll break your fucking heart... but in a good way.

Question about backing up my wallet.  When I backup my wallet.dat file, is it just backing up the private keys? If so, do I need to back it up everytime my balance changes or will it be good for as long as I use that same address and keep coins in the wallet (regardless of amount).  I have been making a backup of the wallet.dat everytime I have a transaction with the wallet but think this might be redundant.

Not necessary to do it at all for incoming transactions, or on every outgoing transaction.

Your wallet has 100 private keys (and therefore 100 receiving addresses) in it to start (assuming that DRK does the same thing that Bitcoin does, which I'm pretty sure it does).  When you receive coins to any of your wallet addresses, nothing changes.  When you send coins from a wallet address, if that transaction does not exactly equal the amount of a previous incoming transaction, or the sum of previous incoming transactions (e.g. say you want to send 5.000 DRK, and you have an incoming transaction of 5.000 DRK, or two incoming transactions of 2.500 DRK) then it will use up a new private key to create a change address.  So say you have incoming transactions of 10.000 DRK, and you want to send 4.000 DRK, it will create a transaction with 4.000 DRK to the recipient and 6.000 DRK to the address belonging to the 2nd private key in your wallet.  It will also generate a new private key, so you now have 101 private keys in your wallet.  Each outgoing transaction which creates change will use up a key/address from the top of your wallet file, and add a new key/address to the end of your wallet file.

So technically you could get by with backing up your wallet only once every 100 outgoing transactions.  To be on the safe side, it's not a bad idea to go ahead and back it up every outgoing transaction, or 5 outgoing transactions, or 10 outgoing transactions.  Depends on how often you send DRK.
