Now, maybe this is when we find out the closed source client has a backdoor... heh.

You're all nuts for using something like this that hasn't been peer-reviewed, IMO.

Be interesting to see what happens to DRK when people clue in that Monero is more secure and anonymous.

same affect with XC, still more anon then DRK......
First, learn the difference between affect and effect. Second, what are you smoking? XC is in an even more primitive state than any of the Cryptonote coins, which are also pitiful.

It's hilarious how mud slinging is a standard tactic in cryptos. Shitty xc coin has the most alpha command line version of an untested anonymity (based on "supernodes" or something lol?) and their shills are saying it's better than darksend. Evan most likely has 10x the skill of the liberty and xc devs combined and it took him months to get something of this level. By the time darksend is open sourced your anonymity won't be close yet and they'll just copy it.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

Buy some DRK if you want but dont bet your house on it. Mandatory hard fork tomorrow to remove masternode payments, we have a long way to go before there is resolution, not to mention darksend and new feature delays for weeks or even months.

Can't agree with this.  Buy when everyone is peeing their pants, that's my motto.  Which is exactly how I got so many cheap darks, which I have never sold.

Whew, been reading this thread page by page on and off all day. However, I was on my phone and not at my computer, so never even started up my wallet (I'm also not running MNs presently).

Came home, downloaded 0.9.4.11, fired it up. All appears fine, assuming current block is 75323. I guess I missed the whole thing.

Monero is bloatware.  Only darksend is closed source. Rest of it is std open protocol.

Thats why i wouldnt be prepared to invest any $$$ in something that is closed source.

Pretty foolish if you ask me. Its pretty easy to see that this coin has been engineered to drive the price up, 1000 DRK for a master node and if 1000 people rush in to buy enough DRK for a master node and you have already taken around a quarter of the current supply of DRK out of circulation. Meanwhile the developer(s) can cash out with darksend presumably before the whole thing falls over.
I see nothing wrong with price engineered to go up. Better than inflationary coin like Doge.

Massive pump incoming back to 0.02 and then consolidation of buy support for launch back to 0.025 when dev announces all has been fixed. Increased my total darkcoin by 12% with all the panic, cheers lads!

Same if you dont buy now - you will be sorry.

Today is only a problem for emo shit traders and people who insist on MNs being the new money hose right now, which doesn't make sense anyway cuz 10% at random...

So, it's not a problem for anyone who matters. Had a similar argument about BTC when it forked... The only people affected negatively are people who deserve to be... Moving coins on a fork, while evidence exists that it's going wrong... Trading during same.. Come on... Glad to lose these people. Did you get Goxxed when it was clear that Mt Gox was shady for a full year in advance? The writing was on the wall and they ignored it. I don't suffer fools...

And people asked why there wasn't a Windows client at inception? Lols...

If people thought BTC was the honey badger of crypto, they haven't seen this thread yet... I made a raging fuck of it myself and still, look what didn't happen... I'm holding a sizeable chunk of the available coins, and I did my damnedest to rage up a shitstorm of stupid... And what happened?

Even deliberately inflicted from multiple vectors of attack, DRK don't give a fuck.

Darkcoin - the Rocky Fucking Balboa of cryptocurrencies.

Wow. Seriously. I hope this community takes note of how much of a signal strength this coin just displayed.

EVERY other coin that had the kinds of gains DRK did retracted big time. BC went from 90K to 15K JUST BECAUSE. DRK didn't even drop that much due to forking issues and temporary removal from the most major trading sties. DRK is ALREADY in recovery mode. 26BTC buy wall a .018 as we speak.

No coin has demonstrated this much resilience; not even BTC. I'm sorry if you sold way low, and I'm not saying anyone should buy in now, but just wow. People with heaps of cash are apparently not backing down from this coin, despite all the hate brigades, and some obvious flaws in organization as made clear by the most recent fork.

DRK is in its infancy, but people with deep pockets are - apparently - very drawn to it. I'm a largeish holder and even I don't understand this resilience. I figured it was going down. WRONG haha. I'm just a speculator, but no other coin could have resisted a total price implosion like DRK has.

DRK hasn't even come down that much from the all time high. A 50% retraction is standard in crypto. BC is still trading at less and 30% its all time high. Wow. Just wow.

Now lets get all the issues sorted out this week. :-)

Just proves that privacy matters to people.  And everyone has the right to be presumed innocent. I'm not using this coin for anything illegal whatsoever.

The launch is on. Buy back in now or take a whopping great loss once the 0.02 is breached.

EDIT: 45 seconds later it is GONE in 3 orders. BOOM!

restart your wallet with -rescan
Code:
darkcoin-qt.exe -rescan

how in windows?
open up command window. so either hit start and type cmd or [windows]+r and type cmd
next type in where your darkcoin-qt.exe is. ex.
if it's on the desktop then you would issue this command
"c:\Users\[your user name]\desktop\darkcoin-qt" -rescan
please keep the quotations.

Because it is and always was a pump n dump scamcoin that copied Mintcoin. IconicExpert and the unholy gaggle that were in cahoots with him ripped the entire community off bigtime. Poor bastards. Still, not too late for them to get a slice of DRK though - wont get another shot at these prices!

No. The fundamental reality that even with a fork clusterrfuck, vote exploit, and paid trolls mobbing the forum, it's still better than anything else out there. Factually. No faith required. Trustless, remember? ;-)
