This whole darknet crap is all bullshit, the developers better work on the coins itself and start promoting and help merchants adopting the coin.
Who gives a fuck about a private internet,98% of the people using the internet dont care,Darkcoin does not need this crap,we need adoption.
When adoption is happening and merchants are accepting it and consumers are using Darkcoin and price is going up and stays stable-isch the developers can start this darknet thing,Darkcoin is a crypto currency and it needs the to stay that way, trying to copy a Tor network is not whats it about in the crypto currency world, trying to beat Tor is not what merchants care about.

I do find the ideas very intresting but they are just 2 seperate things(Crypto currency and anonymus internet) and i believe it it not good to mix these it will hurt Darkcoin the Darkcoin brand.
+1

But....

What if Master Nodes make money from other services. Other people will want to set-up master nodes so they can get in on the action.

The requirement to set-up a master node is the purchase of 1,000 DRK. That causes demand for the currency, and price stability.

It also increases the number of nodes available to mix. That increases the decentralization and reduces the risks of rogues.

I don't understand how added services are not reinforcement of adoption.

What I do agree with is the separation of the branding.

lets say darkcoin gets to $35 or more, starting a node will cost a lot of money, before you get your investment back will take a long time and only after that time you make some money,in the crypto world there are much better ways to make money with such an investment. Now it's a great time to start a node but not when darkcoin costs $35.why will pay $35000 to make some small cash out of it,it's better to daytrade Bitcoin or something else with that kind of money.

If MasterNet can realize it's potential (moon), MNs will not generate "small cash". There are boundless possibilities for this project...

Just wanted to drop by and let everyone know you can pay with Darkcoin at http://www.bitsms.eu.

We also accept Bitcoin and Guldencoin.

Nice service - btw, would it be possible to get a reply too?

When you send a message to number XYZ, you'd get a unique id (guid) and could use that id to access a page that would show messages received from the number XYZ within 10 minutes after the message that was sent.

I have a few services I'd like to send messages and they send immediate (within seconds or minute max) replies so that would be handy if your service could handle that.

I will definitely put this on the list of new features and see if we'll be able to implement it. Thank you for that. I won't come in here to ANN this type of news. I've made a topic here on BCT you can check for Bitsms updates. This thread is hard to keep up with Wink

Anything glaring that I might have missed, so far?

There are a few more things I will be adding, but any views so far will be helpful. I'm looking to start contacting gaming operators in the next week.

This is not accurate, the big difference is you always have your coins safely stored while you run the masternodes, and those coins appreciate in time if things go well for drk. That is completely opposite to investing in hardware that depreciates over time and where the concept of ROI makes more sense. In the masternodes case it is more like receiving dividends from stocks you can liquidate your main assets anytime if that is what you need to do or keep getting the recurrent revenue depending on your personal goals. So not like a hardware investment at all.

Is there someone mining darkcoin with an AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz CPU?

If yes, how much DRK can you potentially mine with such a CPU at the moment?

Probably something like .002 DRK in a week.

That's what I feared... so this is a GPU only coin one can say?

If DRK reaches $35 then your payments are worth more too. And MNs will have other revenue streams.

And gambling more money daytrading just means you'll lose more money daytrading, for the 93.6%* of daytraders who are crap at it.

no sir its not GPU only, but there is no profit with cpu unless you are like me ... mining DRK directly with or withour profit

so my i7's 3770's can do around 600kh/s per CPU

Yes you are right. Mining is not always about profit.
People should also mine a little just to help the network, and secure the value of their holdings.

I completely missed this...

Bitcoin exchanges are not helping out legal businesses operating marijuana outlets in Colorado.

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-processors-reconsider-marijuana-fincen-ruling/

These new Bit Exchanges / Processors are really blowing smoke up their own asses.

This is all fertile ground  Grin
