i cant believe another clone has shown up litecoindark....fuck all this shit developers copycat bastards....go fuck yourself and all those idiots suporting that shit i hope all of you get broke and see you under the bridge begging for 1 buck!!!

you'd better believe this is just the start! just like bitcoin more and more darkcoin clones will emerge, until one clone (as dark is from btc) will improve on it's technology.

There is a difference though.  With Darkcoin, anyone can improve it.  The developers are willing to improve and expand the coin.  There is no real need to clone it because, unlike Bitcoin, it has a group of developers that aren't lazy and are willing and able to expand and improve.

Sure, clones will pop up, but they wont survive long.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Watch the whole video, not just the darkcoin part.

I watched it yesterday and it got so much valuable information in it about cryptocurrencies, my brain overheated so I have to rewatch it now.  Grin

Evan was very clear on Jira about avoiding any other references to the technology. Our brand is Darksend. If you could check it out and edit your posts it woild be nice.
Exactly, there is nothing gained in breeding unnecessary confusion.
NOT changing the name to match the massive fundamental change in how it works, is what will 'breed confusion.'

It no longer mixes on send. It mixes while sitting there, prior to sending.

People will wonder what the hell it's all about if the name contradicts the function; which it currently does.

The current name contradicts the function. It's hard to be more counter-intuitive and confusing than that...

we are saying that those who want to keep the name are the majority
Unfortunately, the majority is, again, not thinking very well.

I agree with the fact that the current name generates confusion by the fact that the function is not anything at all what the name suggests.

Calling it DarkMix, this I do not agree with.

A new name is needed as NOT changing it will, and already is, generating confusion. It no longer operates anything at all as the current name suggests.

Clarity. Ohhmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Satoshi was very clear, no central authority  Tongue

Actually, this has brought up something that pissed me off when Kristov talked about Darkcoin recently.

He called it an implementation of CoinJoin as proposed by gmaxwell. Really?

gmaxwell has previously gone out of his way to say he didn't want Darkcoin implementation to be associated with his concept. Actually, I agree. It's nothing like it. It's a pre-mix. Much, much, order of 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000x better - because it works.

gmaxwell did not come up with the idea of hiding amongst others. That concept was considered in the 80s. It led to the development of Tor: You can't hide alone, but you can hide if you mix with lots of others.

DarkMix, a random pre-mix with many peers, is its own definition of mixing   Tongue Tongue Tongue

Fuck coinjoin we are Darksend... I guess Kristov needed a  way to make a reference to the general crypto audience. In time they will understand that Darksend is a new species, is evolution.  Coinjoin = homo erectus  Darksend = Homo Sapiens ... I guess coinjoin has a place in coding anthropology as a limited older relative of Darksend.

As long as its not DuffMix  Grin

Actually, as Evan created it, I think he should at least wrap a formal paper around it and publish it. He can give it his own clear definition, and get it published in cryptography today (or whatever the brains on sticks read on the toilet).

DarkSend, the action - that's still cool

Its a brand Mcdonalds doesnt mean sell crappy food to people yet we all get it.  Darksend helps you send money anonymously how the internal process happens is not that relevant to the general public. Again just my opinion and I do understand where you guys are coming from.

For the non crypto savvy  DarkMix sounds like the latest dubstep mixtape.

Just a reminder that Evan created x11 and DGW.

There is nowhere or any effort made by anyone to link or credit where those changes came from, yet those inventions have had a huge impact on crypto.

Darkcoin is considered 'another coin that supports x11 and DGW'.

I think we should learn from this, if you want your DRKs to be worth more in the future.

My portfolio holdings in Darkcoin have lost over 50% value. Looks like I've made a bad investment decision in Darkcoin.

same can be said for altcoins in general. A lot of altcoins were hit hard when Bitcoin took a nosedive a few weeks ago.
I have still hope that with the nearby opensourcing of Darkcoin and launching a marketing campaign will make it go upwards again, maybe more slowly or maybe rapidly.

edit : we have just started to climb out of a very big hole... but we are rising again.
