To sum up recent events of DRK:

1) Leak of possible merge between DRK & SDC, discussed by the community, Evan pulled the plugs. (cancelled)

2) Rumor of OKCoin.com adding DRK on their (FIAT) exchange.

3) DRK featured on FOX 26 news (6-nov-2014):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YQnYpc52ks

4) DRK discussed on Bloomberg TV (6-nov-2014):
http://www.businessweek.com/videos/2014-11-06/can-bitcoin-stocks-hold-up-against-the-feds

5) Evan testing first InstantX (INSTANT) transaction successfully in ~2 SECONDS:
I just got multiple masternodes to form consensus, lock inputs, literally took 2 seconds to lock the transaction in place... then I tried to spend the same inputs for a higher fee. Works!

2014-11-07 01:13:18 ERROR: CTxMemPool::acceptableInputs()::InstantX : invalid transaction, conflicts with existing transaction lock CTxIn(COutPoint(365de7e2831dc8b85c2c94fef5f2b98e86a95e301879c5b3460db69df757deb9, 0), scriptSig=3046022100e2ca0a35ab1373)

6) Enforcement enabled, 100% compliant:
Enforcement is a success! We officially have 100% payment compliance and no forks on the network anywhere.

7) Darkcoin v0.10.15.21, bloom filters (-90% outbound traffic), load reduction of ~70%:
Darkcoin - v0.10.15.21

If you are running a masternode on a VPS, I highly suggest you update to 15.21. This update reduces outbound traffic by 90%+ (which is what amazon charges for) by implementing bloom filters. Also load has been drastically reduced by about 70%.

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/v10-15-onyx-release.2683/

PS. Enforcement is on, everything looks good  Smiley

Quote and add up in case I missed something, please bump!

It's so exciting!
I'm hopeful Darkcoin

Whats going on on p2pool?
Did the network fork again?
Looks like it...

http://p2pools.org/drk

No, the handful of small p2pools not on the latest are on their own. The overwhelming network is fine and humming along. P2pools count for less than 2% of the blocks found. Further, the p2pools that are on the latest just had block 166122 found.

We could always use more people on p2p :p. Even though I am chilling down in Africa I make an effort to connect to a p2p-especially the ONLY one over port 80 <3

Maybe we should replace the progress bar for Darksend with something like this:

...

.. because it's not about percents, it's about number of rounds.
It shows, as example, 8 rounds mixing with 5 rounds done.

Doesn't work when not all coins make it to the same rounds at the same time. You could have some still stuck in lower rounds...

No problem, it will show the least round.

Darkcoin Development Appreciation - Crowd Funding Exercise

Over the last few months I've realised how much hard work goes into development and testing by the Dark team and prominent members of the community.  In many cases, lots of personal time and financial resources are contributed to the development and infrastructure of this project and at times, it can be a thankless job.

I'm running a crowd funding exercise for 1 week, as follows:

8th November 2014 - 15th November 2014

DRK Donation Address: Xcd1fuEWooU8QAHDQnpnapqkF9ri8KopNj

At the end of the week, I will be sending the funds to Fernando (Darkcoin Foundation Member) to distribute amongst the team and the community as he sees fit.

So if you would like to show your appreciation for the fantastic work that's being done within the Darkcoin project, please send our unsung heroes a beer or two, I'll get the ball rolling with 25 DRK.

Thanks in advance and feel free to bump this often  Smiley

We are at 97 DRK, an awesome start.

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

I sure hope we'll soon solve the mixing liquidity issue that's holding back the quality of the process created by Evan.

Will instantX accelerates the mixing process?

Will the liquidity update be a sufficient solution?

InstantX will accelerate the mixing process but only if there are other clients available for mixing
. If you've already anonymised your coins as much as you would like, why would you leave your wallet unlocked to anonymise more and pay more fees?

Liquidity providers are a short-term fix in my opinion. Although there is a big incentive to run a masternode with 1000 DRK, what incentive is there to provide 1000 DRK or more for mixing? I want to set up some masternodes but have been unable to anonymise enough coins to set one up.

edit: InstantX will not accelerate the mixing process according to Evan: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg9478774#msg9478774

Thing is, I had a dream two days ago that DRK would go to 0.00799... it was at 0.0051-54 at that point so didn't give much weight to it. Then the first buy happened, then the second, then the third, then it got to 0.0074... I was like "yeah it's happening"... Grin

Question: Didn't Vertcoin implement stealth addresses? And aren't they open-source? If so, wouldn't it be trivial to implement stealth addresses into Darkcoin? EDIT: What about ShadowCoin? Their stealth address technology is open-source as well.

Well, Dark is showing stability IMO, so in the long run we'll be getting back above 1 mil sat.

From an older post of Evan ===>

Evan,

Just wondering what you think the effect of "stealth addresses" in bitcoin would have on DRK? Do you think it will devalue DRK? Would it provide the same level of anonymity as DarkSend?

Thanks!

I don't think they're nearly as strong as something like DarkSend. Although, I could implement that into the client and call it "StealthSend" or something.

Thanks for your input. I think the incentive for leaving coins for mixing is if you don't have enough for a MN. For instance, I have 800DRKs left and that is not enough for an additional MN, but if leaving the 800 allow me to gain some small amounts of DRKs, then I'll go for it.

Also, you don't need to anonymize your 1k DRKs to set up a MN, just set it up.

It's the Privacy vs Anonymity comparison IMO, Stealth Addresses is Privacy, DRK is Anonymity...
