Monero:

The game's about to get real:

I think dark market arrests are good for Monero.  Ideally, I would like to see someone arrested on the basis of unwinding DRK xns.  Any volunteers?

Recent dump down cost TPTB 200000x more paper SLV than physical. Two hundred thousand times more paper than physical. To move the price about 50 cents south.

Has Shanghai run out yet? Don't know how much Chinese industry has stockpiled but this farce can't last forever.  Grin

That's an incredible statistic. How do you work that out ?

Who is buying the Shanghai metal ? Domestic customers ? I thought the problem was that the Western ETF collateral was all being raided to be sent East.

Subtle shifting of sands beneath our feet.

[1] - Yen continues its sinking against Western currencies. Against the Euro by a point every day - EUR/YEN now at 146.

[2] - Here's something interesting re. Silver price (GBP)

Spot Price: £10.46
Price for physical that you can't get straight away: £12.63
Price for physical from stocks: £19.03  Shocked

Decoupling ?

Whatever our Fiat is doing, you as single individual have to take care about yourself.
In the end of 2008 we had the situation that the Priceofsilver (POS) was around 7US$.

No phys. silver coins or bars were available. PM dealers had to wait 4-6 weeks for their orders they placed.
Premium was abot 45-50%. I never was able to buy only one physical ounce of silver for lower than 10€.

US gov and their friends in GB and Europe will fight against PM until they have nothing left over in the west
and all is shipped to the east. Don´t belive the mainsteet media fighting against Gold / Silver and crypto.
Have a insurance in your portfolio and keep it outside the banking system. It´s not question if FIAT will fail,
it´s only a question when it will fail. The US$ is the world reserve currency over a long period of time for now, but it
has to give it out of their hand soon. History showed that it always lasts about 100 -120 years.
Study spanish, portguise, netherlands, GB and US history and you will see there is not much time over for US$.
Be prepaired, china is already positioned.

Ah ! Brother JohnF. He's awsome.

He used to do the Bitcoin report over on bitcoinchannel.com. His videos always started..."Good evening everyone, time for another Bitcoin report. This is the 1-hour MtGox chart...". They were legendary.

Thanks for the link.

Darkcoin's blockchain size "0.46gb" over 11 months.

Monero's blockchain size "2.3gb" over 7 months.

So based on current usage, Monero should have a blockchain size of
of over 10GB within 2years and 5 months.

Whereas Darkcoin would only be around 1.75gb over the same period.

(Assuming no new users over the next 2 1/2 years)

I thought Monero fixed the zerocoin "blockchain size" problems?

EDIT: Vote for Darkcoin please.

This site is awesome for Darkcoin!

Be prepaired, china is already positioned.

I've just noticed that Bitgild.com now accept DRK in exchange for precious metals! If you add something to the shopping cart and proceed to the checkout, the option to pay with DRK appears as a payment method.

I've previously bought from Bitgild with Bitcoin and can recommend them if anyone is looking to diversify (or keep stacking).

I have been dithering over buying some silver for a few days.  I've got a good source and would be looking to keep it for 5+ years minimum.  Its annoying that you have to pay VAT on silver sales in the UK but not on gold sales.

I've been using https://www.bullionvault.com who are UK based, for allocated gold and silver, for many years and highly recommend them, I find it compliments having physical PMs in hand, especially if you like to trade any price swings.

In UK you have to pay a hugh amount of tax. You can buy for example australian Lunars, koalas, ASE ore maples in germany and import them to UK. Within the EU you do not have to pay any tax on import.
Make sure you do not import directly from australia or usa.
The forum www.thesilverforum.com is a good place to buy from private persons.

Re VAT on Bullionvault.com

Sales tax is not due on gold or silver purchases.

BullionVault gold and silver are both VAT (sales tax) free - for as long as they are held in accredited vaults. If you choose to withdraw your gold it remains exempt, but 20% VAT will apply if you choose to withdraw your silver bullion.

So as long as you convert your silver holdings to fiat for withdrawal you can avoid paying any VAT on it, or to fiat and then to gold for withdrawal.

I thought Monero fixed the zerocoin "blockchain size" problems?
Monero has no relation to the Zerocoin project or source code.

Yes DRKs chain is smaller today. But believe it or not blockchain size won't be a show stopper for Monero. This can be said for sure. But useless to discuss deatails now here in an Darkcoin thread.
