Beastly are you able to dual mine, and is it stable now? Also could you tell use how much power just one cell is using mining only scrypt. I dont have a controller and I posted earlier in the thread that when connected to my PC one unit is drawing 45 watts while only mining scrypt. Do you know if this issue has been addressed in the update. Also I was under the impression that the new software had to be loaded on each unit, not the controller? Thanks in advanced for the info.
You can't load new firmware on the consumer units (notice the absence of the white switch we have on the dev units) you can only update the controller firmware. The current firmware I have only used for scrypt but will try dualmining when I get home. I understand it works but didn't look into it. The current software it will work but not show you the output you need to look at your pool. The devices draw 7 watts in scrypt mode by to cpuminer on the computer doesn't have the ability to turn off the power to the sha cores that is why you are experiencing the high power usage. I don't think the controller has that issue. Just to make sure I understand, the firmware that provides the 500khash rate from a single unit is for the controller, not the device itself? So the devices that the rest of us get aren't going to be capable of any more than 300khash when connected to PC? Cpuminer has the option to clock at 800 the same as the controller so yes you will be able to achieve the same hashrate. I have stably clocked up to 900 on devices fine. Why is the hashing so low clocked at 900? -Bobby

Basically just overclocking, and the new firmware which should be called software or mining GUI is just for the controller. At least that is my understanding of what beastly was talking about. I PM'd Asiabtc about the power issues when connected to PC and not the controller, because that sorta ruins the power efficiency mining only scrypt. I am still curious now how the dual mining stability is going to be fixed so at least people with one or more units, that are connected to their PC can utilize the wattage being wasted from idle SHA cores. That was why I assumed that the new "Firmware" was for the actual mining device.

I don't think the controller has that issue. I imagine they just removed the switch, and that you could short a couple pins if you really wanted.

For you paypal folks. I think paypal in china is like trying to fit a golf ball through a pinhole. It is why BTC is becoming so popular in china. They over-regulate. Your money will get to jack if it hasnt already. Its just going through every fincen regulation in chinese existence first. Jack is consistently proving himself. Give him the trust he deserves.

Sent a message to Jack and he said his staff will take care of it. That was on the 15th. I'm sure they're being swamped with orders and will get to me eventually....maybe should have paid with BitCoin rather than PayPal....

Just placed an order via PayPal, and am looking at another order via BTC.
How much would $5400 USD be in BTC right now? Thanks to Mt Gox, now isn't the best time to convert BTC!
