I'd say the socialism hate is perfectly warranted. People, especially Americans, like owning stuff.

Like shitty health care plans. LOL

In Soviet Union you had to bribe to get medical care. Otherwise it's like few years wait.

(true story)

According to "Sicko" Cuba is actually better than parts of the US when it comes to health care.
and also according to House.

Our health care used to be great. And cheap, too. Until the government stepped in and "fixed" it.

I just learned in class today that the American government we know and love today is actually illegal.  Funny how that's never been brought up before, in my entire 21 years of living.

explain!? i smell bullshit, a government can't logically be illegal, because they make the rules.

one government can call another government illegal, but that does not count.

I beg to differ.

Point in case: The State Of Palestine   vs.   The State Of Israel

very murky legal case...    Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

When they decided the confederacy wasn't working out (as I've come to understand, this is as close to anarchism as has ever been attained in America,) they convened in Philadelphia to make some amendments.  When they couldn't find a unanimous vote, they decided the system would never work out.  These people only had permission from the general public to convene to change the articles of confederation, and were not given permission to throw their government away and invent a completely new one without anyone else's consent.  Thus, the constitution was born, and it was illegal for it to exist.  It still is.

Just like they could define "good service" as kicking you in the ass on your way out the door, giving you nothing, and you couldn't complain, because they set the rules defining good service.

It's only illegal in the same way a king coming over, taking over your property, claiming it's his, and setting up rules is illegal. They just decided to make the king be electable by a representable body, and put term limits on him. So, really, by your definition, almost no government would be legal.

It means an illegitimate body is writing the word on legitimacy.

I agree.  No government can legitimize itself.  And it's not my definition; my professor's the one who made the connection.

So: The Israeli government cannot possibly legitimze itself on territories which were not granted by the United Nations ?

Please be clear in your answer. Thank you, Sir.

Well, by my definition, they are. But that's beside the point. The point here is, that these people were tasked with a specific job. They decided that job was too hard, and did another one instead. In essence, they committed a coup against the legitimate government under the articles of confederation.
