Is the NEM auction going to be like an auction. Maybe I just don't understand.
I was thinking it was going to be like an auction where if your bid made, and someone bids more, then you can outbid them until there is a winner.
PAT If this is the case, let me know. If not, Why not?
Thanks
What you describe is the popular Ebay style auction. This auction is more like a blind (sealed bid) auction because while you can track the bids in blockchain.info, it is not easy to know the winning bid in one glance. Hence, there is a bidding recommendation of making one bid at the highest price you are willing to pay. My choice of auction style depends mainly on logistic + security reason. However I do prefer this more quiet and deliberate style of auction. Multi unit sealed bid auction is the standard auction style for U.S Treasury - so we are in a good company here. Why not on ebay? HOW ? Ebay has a cryptocurrency section now. NEM value will be more accurately established in an eBay style auction IMHO It is mathematically proven that both style of auction gives optimal price. You could do some research. http://www.stanford.edu/~jdlevin/Econ%20285/Multi%20Unit%20Auctions.pdfI think that ebay auction platform is the easiest and most accessible to everyone Ebay EU / has just been hacked so change your password. Paypal state they are unaffected last second bids are also annoying !

We have the tokens on Nxt AE, Possibly counterparty, MSC I for one know a friend that that isnt into cryptos and wants to buy NEM, just doesnt have the time to get into the whole thing. People cant imagine whats its like for people outside the community. I's very intimidating. If I could say "auction on ebay at 9:00" it would be huge. We need to cater to those outside of crypto. An auction is centralized anyway, just saying

I have added NEM to my analysis spreadsheet. It did very good and the only 2 categories it scored low, are impossible to get higher without a launch/beta.
We will see great things from NEM!
Take a look at my analysis here: https://twitter.com/TwinWinNerD/status/468934733205098496(sorry for the repost, posted it originally in the midst of the night )

An auction is centralized anyway, just saying People outside of here know next to nothing about cryptos and even less about NEM so you think they will bid on something they have no clue what it's for? Right now we need to get NEM out to the people who know what it is and what's it for then we can work on getting it out to the everyday people. For most of us here using the AE is easier and faster then setting up a ebay account if you dont have one.

Just wanted to say thanks to kodtycoon. You have turned out to be a very active and effective member to the NEM community. I have kicked around starting my own coin (absolutely nothing serious yet), if I do I'll definitely be hitting you up for extra ideas. I would have liked to see you follow through with the multi-pool, though I know there wasn't a whole lot of support, it would have helped NEM even more. Good to see this one caught on!! Keep em coming!! Thanks again!!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=186785Here is the link to my trust settings here on forum. This trust system is very unfair. I make good on every deal Ive ever made. I had many, many deals as you can see and I never scammed anyone. All it takes is a random account to give you negative trust and youre screwed. Tomatocage has never even talked to me ever but when the random acct hit me with negative trust, Tomatocage came right behind him and marked neg trust again so obviously he was the one who did it. You can look at Tomatocage trust and see how many of his compeditors at the currency exchange thread he labeled scammers. I never scammed anyone. My trust was green over 20 before this. I hope it never happens to you because the mods cant help you.

Patience People! Thank You Dev Team for Your hard work! It is the most important that the code is solid, rather than released asap. I'd help more if I could but I have no time to commit. I'm working on software of my own (unrelated to crypto), and I'm not planning on releasing that until it's ready!
I look at it this way. NXT seems to be finally crawling out of it's hole, so the more BTC and NXT values increase before NEM is released the better!
If NEM had been released as a clone it would already have been pumped, dumped, and forgotten. I have faith that NEM will be the real deal when it finally is released!

As long as it is easier than Nxt, i still can't get that shit running Really? What can't you get running with this client? http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/My even my grandma runs it fine I use linux and i get runtime errors running the official client. What version of the client and what version of Java? I believe Wesley is planning one click client for Linux too. Yeah i changed the default java version on my system. I had both java 6 and 7 installed. update-alternatives --config java Nxt client works now and i have to say it is amaziing. fees seem to high though.

Their are better projects to put your money in. No one will tell you them because they are waiting for the projects to be released. Once they are released they will start promoting them like crazy and by that time it is too late to make big profits. That's all I can say.

Given 1 nxt is only 3 cents, it's not that high. They were planning to change the fees if nxt went up to 10 cents.

Rep Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=381041If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

NXTL also seems like it has a probable huge number of sock puppets, something which people raised issue over but nothing was really done about it, Are there better projects? Honestly hard to say, I read the ANN section all the time and don't really see any. Most of the alts coming out are still first generation $hitclones

Keep em coming!! Thanks again!! thank you for your kind words! i would be more then happy to help you with your coin and contribute any ideas i have. its all i really can do seeing as im not a dev. i would have liked to go through with it also, only finding a dev, and getting the nem devs to agree proved more difficult then i though.. and it was very 50 50 in terms of agreement so i decided not to put too many backs up and let it go.. on the bright side, sharecoin used the idea of launching their multipool mining pre-coin launch and they managed to mine 10btc before the coin launched. so i think it really could have worked for nem. imagine 3 months of mining from allot more miners... would have been allot of buying power! im very impressed with the support from the community for this. i urge people to claim their stakes through nxt AE even if you dont want to trade.. its more secure then your bitcointalk account. for this reason alone, i think everyone should do it. one of the nxt devs had his btt account hacked and stolen not long ago. luckily he managed to get it back though. not everyone will be that lucky. our accounts will become targets once the stakes are worth more. dont think that it wont happen. i suspect many people will start claiming(perhaps some falsely) their accounts were stolen. mark my words! Absolutely agree with You! At first- Nem will be worth and worth in AE and at second -this is much more secure! Cheers
