Like you said. Its the community. NXT had like 50 stakeholders at launch and NEM has 3000.
Well, that is if you think we have 3000 unique users. No one really believes that. The real number is unknown (regardless of all the "stats" about older accounts) but I doubt it's higher than 1000 I think we have more than 2000 unique users. But saying NEM having 3000 stakeholders is also okay also because it is the same as saying NXT has 73 stakeholders. In the end, there were 73 accounts sending money in NXT address and there were close to 3000 accounts sending money to NEM address. Actually, there were more than 3000 account sending money to NEM address but we threw out about 300 accounts after taint and activity analyses. |

Lot of stakeholders will just dump, that is OK, what Im afraid is that many of them, (in case NEM will really go up after initial dump) may turn into hateful trolls.
Each stakeholder has been given a gift. It is fine that they sell it and take the money but why do they become a hateful troll ? There will be trolls but they are probably already hateful to NEM since the beginning. |

They'll need NEM to fail to justify their decision to dump. When that never happens, they'll become bitter. |

I can imagine someone, that held 1,000,000 NEM selling cheap, hating on NEM after it becomes popular. He will probably be turned into troll trying to bring price of NEM down, to buy in again. It may sound irational, but this way of acting is based purely on emotions. Sure he will hate himself, just projecting frustration on NEM, that would fall under some psychological defense mechanisms. I think there will be people like that. |

Most people don't have the type of mind to code anything outside rudimentary programs (if that). Yet they want to think it is like whatever A,B,C work they do in real life. Known processes where you can estimate times. |

Known processes where you can estimate times. The team is working on this part time while we have our regular jobs as well. That being said, we are getting really close to have a stable platform that will form the testnet. I think people will be impressed by our work once the alpha is out. |

I think that near the launch, we gonna have an idea of the NEM market cap ( the value of all coins). This may change things.  |

just want to say aswell it would be a very good show of confidence from the devs if nem coin tokens were to be launched on a competitors platform! if the nem devs are confident that nem is a better/superior system then i dont see there being a problem issuing them on the nxt AE. im sort of dismayed by the lack of response to the idea from both devs and stake holders.. i thought more stake holders would love the opportunity to start trading there nem stakes and watch the value climb with alpha/beta/full release and just to find out what the base price is.
We will first test the exchange and then we will see how it fits NEM's goals. While I want to support NXT, it is not a good idea to be the first going on an untested platfrom. well its getting well tested now! You could always run a test on their test net if you realy wanted to be sure, glad to hear your concidering it. Fair play UP + 1 |

People need to understand one thing, this may even be a good marketing point, with all the hard work put in by this brilliant dev team for every aspect that's being done, all the signals indicate the launch product will be very interesting. So, for the disinterested majority of the crypto-world this may turn out to be a black swan. However, with all these good things happening and the launch being very near, it will be good to remember that this is not the end, but rather the beginning.
Quite a beginning I must say. Now, given all the things you know and see, try to imagine how things could be 2 or 3 years from now.P.S. Utopian future here we come!  |

I should also point out again that the value of Nem is in no way bound to the value of Nxt.
This is one way I would look at the value of a coin:
Value = Desirability
Desirability = Pure Innovation + Simplicity + Good Marketing + Great Community + Ecosystem/Utility + A sense of Fairness/Trust
While I expect that some dump will happen at the beginning(during which I will hopefully be able to buy a lot more cheap Nem), if things work out the way I think they will, one month after the launch price should stabilize at least between 500 - 1000 satoshi/1 Nem(worst case scenario). This is my conservative prediction.
Although I know this is pure speculation, do you guys have any reasonable prediction for prices after the first month?
