Sad part, some of us are out the money we were supposed to get through renting our rigs at the higher prices and the rented hashes we were investing to mine coins .
All in all, a huge loss every hour on my end. Angry

Cloudfare is a big company (By their about us page at least). There could be a class-action lawsuit if these losses acrue with the miners I'd think.
If betarigs would be in the US you guys would already have one on your hands probably for lost earnings.  Cheesy

Looks like the scaling of your hosting package/server(s) could not put up with the crazy demand last night/this morning for the rentals and traffic generated.
Hopefully you guys were on the enterprise pack, otherwise, shame on you.  Cheesy

Don't want to sound bad but I reckon this will be a difficult task. Could you let us know what we can do to either assist or speed up the process of this.

I don't understand how is it possible that after change of ownership, this service became so shitty?

Before, there were no downtimes, but now, constant down times and what is even worse, you don't explain why the downtime, you always just say 'its our hosters fault'. Dont you have premium hosting that costs more than 1000 usd a month? I don't think premium hostings have such fall outs every 2 weeks.

To me, this more looks like incompetence to run the service. If this will continue, soon, all we will be able to do is say R.I.P. betarigs.

And seriously, look at the features, what did you add and what did you took away? There are no more graphs, there are less features than before, but all you could do is drastically higher up the fees. Really great work! You were dealing with features that are not so important like hiring multiple rigs at once, but how about most important one - online wallet, so we can stop opening tickets for every damn transaction that gets lost because your service doesn't work?

They had another down time a few days ago. Renters got refunds, but Id like to know this :

Do you refund the renter from the $$ the owner of the rig was supposed to rent, or betarigs pocket?

If it's the rig owner's pocket then it's very poor business and you definitely will be losing a LOT of people that I know including me using your business.

For example, if I had 15TH rented out at 0.02-0.035/TH/Day rates, but your sites goes down for 5.5 hours. My losses from the site's downtime should not be MY COST.

Please let us know how you guys handle this.

The first time, I was 'ok' with it, stuff happens. Second time in a few days, with some heavy losses, I'm NOT 'ok' with it.

Okay here's the answers.

To speed this up make a ticket with your rig id and we'll add time and make refunds

Rental's are refunded out of the rental funds. Why? Because the rig ends up hashing on their own pool. So they arent losing much. If we took massive % cuts in fees then i couldn understand asking us to cover the costs. But we dont.

The day of the transfer to our own servers was set a couple of days ago as the 27th. After that we're aiming to have 100% uptime. We can't manage something that is out of our control. (Which this is since the main portion of the site is on mux's servers.). Since someone here was so adamant on asking us what happened. Here it is. Our hosting providers has charged us 3x the standard cost of the server's which we've obvs paid just to keep the site online until we can move ASAP.

Why the hosting is shit. The servers the site is hosted on belongs to mux. He's used a french hosting service of which none of the betarigs team speaks french. So its difficult to communicate with the hosters which means its damn near impossible to solve these issues besides coughing up the money they keep constantly asking.

I've run my own business for many years, including company websites/hosting/email/etc.. etc..

I can understand 'issues' due to hosting, (although never had anything even remotely like what you are having), but if due to my site being down, my clients lose money, I'd b making sure they are compensated for the losses.

For example, 5.5hours * 15.5TH * 0.00063/hour(average actual loss of current high priced rental, excluding standard 0.011 average 1TH/Day price normally) = 0.0537BTC

This is just an example from a tiny miner like me. So that 0.0537BTC is direct loss, as it would have been EXTRA (above average prices) income were the site not down.
I don't care about the $12.10USD as it is pretty small, but what if someone was running 10x my setup? So they just lost $121.00USD for something they really should not be responsible for.

Any normal business would wash their hands and leave after a direct loss if the company responsible, would take it out of the Rig Owner's pocket instead of manning up and making themselves look professional and keeping their customers happy.

I don't want the 0.0537BTC , I'm not complaining about that, but the whole business structure / refund 'ideals' you are saying is pretty f-ed up.

This is not figuring in the HUGE losses some of us had due to no rented rigs sending the hashes we bough to the other pools. I'm over 1BTC paper loss on that one, but that's an indirect earining loss, not a direct out of pocket loss such as above referenced.

I do understand what your saying. If the rig's were not mining on the rig owner's pool i would certainly understand and i would in that case refund the rig owner's out of my own pocket. which i have done on many occasions.

So then why are the realized losses of the hash rate difference between the normal average pool mining income of 'x' and rented hash rate (at point of losses) 'x+100-200%' is not credited to the mining rig owner?

I mean I understand the refund and hours credit setup, but a loss is a loss at the moment of down time.

Same as in stocks. You place a sell order, but Etrade or whatever front-end you use to trade stocks is down for 5.5 hours, after it's back the price is now a 1/4 what it was and you have lost a bunch of money .

because it cant work like that. We're refunding at the price the rig was rented at. You can get some pools with huge profitability and ones with insanely low profitability. (For an example. One pool closed down today which had 600 hours to find a BTC block).

We cant do a system like that and be fair due to too many factors out of our control

I was referring to average mining income. It's widely available for people to know and understand for example, it's roughly 0.01/TH/Day nowadays. So the fair thing IMO would be to calculate from that.

Figure the rented rate, subtract the network average = loss out of pocket.
