Hi I need a bit of help from the community here. Last night, I updated my wallet from 1.6 to 1.10, and downloaded the new blockchain, and left it overnight. Today, when I look, my MINT's are seriously low - they've dropped from 3.8m to 12,865 !!!! In the transaction lists, everything is showing up fine, but the coins aren't showing up, other than the 12,865 in the balance. Can someone help me out here, thanks in advance.

Did you back up your wallet.dat file first? Turn off the client first, then Backup your wallet before you do anything to any files. Restart client. Try going to the "Help" and opening up the debug window and type repairwallet EDIT: I am pretty sure if I recall correctly, wallet version 1.7 was a mandatory wallet upgrade...which was a while ago... (back in March) ...so, you should have updated a lot sooner...That was the update that removed pow generation with a hard fork after block 220000. Meaning anything you have done since block 220000 on the old wallet is probably lost? From block 220,000 everyone has been on different fork. ...do you think that may be part of your issue here? just guessing though. I'm not sure how all that works... so it may be that Maybe someone else can help you better though. Maybe the dev can help you recover the coins. EDIT: The thing to do is to check the blockchain with a block explorer such as http://mint.blockexplorer.cc/chain/MintCoin and if everything is there then you have your coins...that is the ledger that counts.

@ cycoinminer , coolbeans
Maybe he can try reinstalling the old 1.6 wallet and the latest on a different PC. When the coins reappear in the old wallet send them to the new one and delete the old one. Or repair wallet already worked? cycoinminer let us know if you had any luck. Update your wallet regularly just like other software.

Cheers Coolbeans - repairwallet command sorted me out. My coins were from early on in the mining stages, and as I've tried mining various coins over the months, I don't always keep all the wallets up to date, as was the case here. Thanks again though, appreciated On another note, do you know a command to remove the false entries in the wallet? When I opened up the 1.6 wallet it gave me a load of 0 confirmation payments.

Mintcoin should have reached 1 satoshi by now...
...but it hasn't.
There is too much value in it. The name, the developer, the community.
Soon, it will have the world's first legally registered and legally recognized NGO. People underestimate how important this is. It will make Mintcoin seem like the only "legal" crypto out there and this could cause waves. There are tons and tons of businesses that refuse to adopt Bitcoin because it is unregulated. Mintcoin could go into areas where Bitcoin can't. All I gotta say to anyone interested in Mintcoin is to get into Mintcoin soon and before mintcointeam releases the big news.
CryptoSummit tweeted that Mintcoin had it's NGO up and running, which wasn't the case, but right after this was tweeted, the price of Mintcoin tripled.

I believe those are just orphan blocks. Just ignore, they will diminish with time. Eventually, there may be a way to hide them. I personally like to have record of them because it provides a level of insight into what is currently happening with my wallet.

@flamingo
thanks for the pics and explanation if someone would be willing to vote with 1 BTC mint might jump to the top. You do need to make a few small trades, perhaps the day before you vote: "only users with a trade history and a legit mobile phone number are permitted to vote for coins."

I have to say I AM SORRY in advance in case this has been asked a million time already, and answered:
I had not opened my wallet in weeks, thought to do it in passing and it just sat there, for hours, not opening. I tried a few times, it wouldn't. I deleted the various block files and let it download it again, yay, it worked! but then today I came down and the entire system was locked up so I had to reboot, when I tried the wallet again, same crap, though, it gave me an error about failure to load some block file (I forget the exact language), so I deleted the shit again and am now waiting for another days worth of the wallet downloadingthe entire chain.
Is there any way to avoid this shit???
