Just did my regular visit to mintpal and to my horror I saw mintcoin in the single digits, it was awful..  Sad

Yeah, I wonder why it went down so much. At least this is a good time to invest in more, :p.

It's still at 10 sats on poloniex. Maybe someone dumped a massive amount on mintpal and artificially lowered the price.

I know i am new here but maybe it's because btc is down and most markets as hole are down.
The ones that are up right now are P & D coins.
people flock to the pumps. but from what i have read here and the posts you have a very solid comunity.
So good things will come. As this coin is POS and time is on its side.
Just my 2 cents USD, lol

Mintcoin: Get some

I have written the preliminary section for Mintcoin:

Please say if anything is incorrect.  I want the mintcoin community to help me complete the history section (3-5 important historical events)  I will publish the book this summer.  Any donations are highly welcome Cheesy

MZKhgDfWYxfWpkpC9Jn6ZtpBQduBSKvfet
If you are going for historical accuracy, here are some things you should include:

Algorithim:  "Full PoW - to Hybrid PoW/PoS - to Full PoS"

Premine:  "700,000,000 for bounties, giveaways, development, support and maintenance, Mintcoin Fund, and new feature developments etc."

Merchant Base: Yes. Can purchase goods and services with greater than >50 merchants as of April 2014.

Transaction Speed: 2 minutes, average.

Innovation: First coin of it's kind released. (First hybrid PoW/PoS released with fast initial 4-5 week PoW distribution. Converted to full PoS, aimed at being fast, energy efficient, and encouraging people to hold their coins by PoS rewards of 20% the first year, 15% the 2nd year, 10% the 3rd year, and 5% for the 4th+ years.)

You might also want to mention the fact that Mintcoin was the most profitable coin to mine in February 2014 while it was still mineable during the intial distribution phase, before it became full PoS, causing it to be very broadly distributed initially.

Make sure you have the link to the correct block explorer: http://mint.blockx.info/get/chain/MintCoin

An update on CryptoAlts: I will not be able to push the front end tonight to open up MINT beta just yet. Today I found getting everything working was so much more complicated than I originally expected. As I went through testing, I came to realize a lot of old code no longer worked. So I had to rewrite a lot. I literally spent ~10 hours of my Saturday just coding and testing. But, I managed to get through it, and successfully pay out both BlackCoin and MintCoin miners!

I am just too tired to push the front end tonight for some additional bug testing. That will go live in about 10-12 hours after I get some sleep. But, I am able to present to you, the first transaction ID (successful closed testing) that paid out MintCoin from CryptoAlts Pool. Grin

The low prices are great for those of us who believe in the coin. It's also a way to let people prove how much they believe in it, Smiley.

There used to be two (on Reddit, and aslo on Twitter). I think the Reddit one, the owner is willing to let someone else handle it.

Is there any active development on a hard fork for MINT?  Seems like cryptsy order book is empty because the money supply is expanding so rapidly.

I like the site, but I'm a bit lost as to how it works. It shows SHA, Scrypt and X11. So is it mining the most profitable coin and then converting to MINT and BC, or what is happening?

yes pretty much.
I mine scrypt  and x11 scrypt. So for the X11 you could be mining hiro coin or dark coin or one of the coins that use X11 algo.
Then you get paid In MintCoin or BlackCoin or 50/50.
I have been mining 50/50 payout and the payout is actually pretty good.
If you mine 50/50 you will need a Black coin and Mint coin wallet in your .bat
If you mine Mint only you'll just need a Mint wallet.

Here is a .bat example for x11 for my R209's
getting 50/50 payout.

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
timeout /t 4
SGminer.exe -d 1,0  -k darkcoin -u BRfZPqtrczX3cr4M8372dYFoDXzXcX7j5c.MvAyDfvXgzPH78oyYtt7CXnMsWvCzseSDe -p X -o stratum+tcp://uswest1.cryptoalts.com:5555 --gpu-platform 0 --worksize 256 --vectors 1 --intensity 18 --gpu-threads 1 --log 3 --thread-concurrency 33792 --lookup-gap 2 --api-port 4028 --expiry 120 --queue 1 --scan-time 60 --auto-fan --temp-target 65 --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 999

you would replace my wallet addresses with your own.

Can you give a little information about your payouts from the last few days/week? I mostly want to see how it compares to what you could get off something like Wafflepool or Hashco.ws (by mining and then trading for one of those coins).

http://cryptoalts.com/profits/

It doesn't coin switch - it just spreads hash among coins that are long term good to mine. This is to try to provide more consistent reliable payouts. If one coin has a bad day, hopefully another can have a good day to make up for it. P2Pool has a such a long PPLNS period that coin switching just doesn't work on it. I also went with P2P because I want to support decentralized mining. Wink

I will put up a node coin matrix once all the nodes are fully operational. There was a DRK fork that really threw things off at CryptoAlts recently, and we just got things sorted out a few days ago and are changing around some coins still. With that said, it doesn't matter which node you mine on because all nodes share the coins in the end on this pool.

Payouts are a bit hit in variance right now, which is very characteristic of P2Pool mining, though long-term averages work out. The only way to dampen the variance is to get more miners. Tongue

Hmm, based on that chart, it's an average of about 0.0034, which is on par with the other multipools. Not too bad!

That is not gonna happen. There is too much intrinsic value with Mintcoin that it won't reach such levels anymore, maybe at the beginning. At this stage, we have reached the bottom and even dipped below it. It is heavily manipulated and will rise from here on out. There is a lot of development with the Android wallet and activities with the Fund.

Depends on the coin. Some don't payout anything. With Mintcoin though, I believe it goes to whoever wins the block via proof-of-stake.
