Have you seen those upcoming scrypt asic machines? Good thing mintcoin is pure PoS now, many coins will be mined into oblivion and then dumped until their 1 sat but mintcoin will not be affected at least not in a negative way. Looking it this way, scrypt asics are actually beneficial for mintcoin.
Yep. Mint is the Daddy of PoS coins, because we still have so many coins to produce over many years. All without mining. Looks like whales are getting ready to play with some Mint...check out the buy orders on Mintpal. There was another buy wall for some time at 10 sat, I believe it was there to keep it from falling into the scary single digits. This could be the same thing, not many people can sell so many coins so the price will remain above the biggest buy wall.

I predict many alt coins will be forked to new algorithms to combat the new scrypt ASIC devices. Probably but that does require a lot of work, as I understand all users, pools and exchanges would have to update their wallets and deamons. Is there no possiblity asics can adapt to still keep mining coins on new algos? The scrypt ASIC makers would have to develop a new type of chip to beable to hash the newer algorithm. Unless they develope sockets for the specific chip to be interchangable even if that is possible? Maybe the focus will turn back to FPGA devices since they are able to be programmed?

First of all I'd like to say I just switched my rig over to hashco.ws and Mining to be paid out in mint. Secondly I would like to put in my .02cents about the new asics (I just bought 3 gridseeds) wouldn't this theoretically be a good thing especially for say mint? I mean if someone had a big ASIC setup and was mining hashcows to be paid out in mint that would help the buy support for mint using very little energy. I mean a gridseed ASIC runs at ~350kh/s for 7watts which is WAY more efficient than any gpu out there. Everything has it's good sides and it's bad sides.

...I have a question I know is asked often but here it comes again. I bought 20k MintCoin and moved it to my Mintcoin wallet on Feb. 26th. I have never added to or subtracted any coins since then. It has never minted.
Is it completely random when it will mint? And is there a way of telling whats my chance of it actually minting any time in the near future? Also I know its been over 20 days, so when it actually does Mint, will it give me a percent of MintCoin for 20 days or the total days (like if it happened at 40 days do I get double?) I have waited for it to Mint?
Thanks in advance from a MintNewb!

You need to unlock your wallet for it to mint. Make sure you have the latest wallet and then you only need to click the unlock button.

Great Job! I think you could definitely find interest. Which multi-pool are we talking about?
A good mine pool will enable you to greatly improve the working efficiency!

You need to unlock your wallet for it to mint. Make sure you have the latest wallet and then you only need to click the unlock button. Unlocking a wallet assumes I locked it. I never locked it. As I was typing this out it just Minted for me. I don't know how or why. It just did it itself. Maybe I just needed to leave the wallet open for more than 5 minutes after syncing?
