If Mintcoin Team does not care enough about your investment to even recommend that everyone should remove their coins from exchanges once a week to stop the Free POS Minting , then so be it.

Drop the Interest Rate to 1.5 % .

I will wait for the Pump and then Dump my Mintcoins , before the crash.

Good Luck to the Rest of You.

Kiklo has left the Building.

If you care about your investment in Mintcoin then you should never have your coins on an exchange because that means you're getting ready to sell them and forfeiting your own interest from accumulating.

This is very obvious.  I'm not sure why you think the Mintcoin team would need make a public broadcast or create some type of 'once a week' rule in order for people to understand that.

People who hold their coins on exchanges don't care and aren't going to stop just because someone made a random recommendation.

New GetHub: https://github.com/MintcoinCommunity/mintcoin
Please note: The prior developer was unable to pass on the github account therefore we needed to move over to a community owned account.
We are seeking community verification that the new repository is identical to the prior repository. Please pm me for permissions.

It brings me great pleasure to officially announce the new Mintcoin Team
http://mintcoin.cc/official-mintcoin-team/

Please spread the word!
great news!

Comparing old and new repos, I can verify that they're identical.

Old repo's history: https://github.com/mintcoinproject/mintcoin/network
New repo's history: https://github.com/MintcoinCommunity/mintcoin/network

Anyone wanting to verify can also check the latest commit IDs on both repos -- those are generated based on contents of all files in that version and nothing else.

Very impressive. We rarely see real names attached to coins. Glad I'm an investor.

Costanza is on the team?! O.o

Now that I have almost DL'ed the whole new blockchain, is there somewhere you want me to upload it, since the noobs of this coin could accommodate me with it?

Man what are you smoking share with us  Cheesy

Your calculations are totally off. You are missing a great deal of understanding of this coin plus your math is wrong.

Mr. Math Genius

That is what Excel said, but please take me to School.

What are your Calculations?
 Cool

I have to go to work when I check this board in evening I expect you to give me the right calculations.

@cryptomommy can we make an online excelsheet that will do the stake calculations after 20 days, 6 months, 1y, 2y, 5y long term thanks!!

WOW , I TAKE IT BACK YOU ARE NOT A MATH GENIUS.
Half Amount in Wallet   :98,316,373.79 mintcoins * 0.00000004 =  3.932654952 Bitcoins= $2,305.33
Fourth Amount in Wallet:49,158,186.90 mintcoins * 0.00000004=  1.966327476 Bitcoins= $1,152.67
Bitcoin exchange rate at 2:30am

I think your Calc is broken if all you got was $300.

Now imagine more that one exchange mints either a half or quarter and you can see the problem.
 Cool

P.S.
Please tell me you are not an Accountant!!!
 Cool

Your MINT-BTC-USD conversions are correct. You are incorrect with the amount of the mintcoin staked.

What is special about mintcoin? Why will it fare better than other coins and be adopted? I'm not trying to FUD or anything, I'm looking to invest, and like that the coin has such an active core team, but don't understand why people would prefer it over DRK or any other coin with an active dev team and more features.

Hi!

Mintcoin offers faster transactions than most coins and offers a high PoS rate for people who download the wallet and store their coins offline - We also have filed for Non Profit Organization status for Mintcoin Fund (on top of an active development team) that focuses on earth preservation efforts.

Hope that helps Smiley

Hi ,

Brand new to coins, but I read in some previous announcements, that you were considering changing the coin parameters.
What is the current POS and what are you planning to change it too?
And if you change the POS parameters won't you slow down the speed of the coin?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

It is not decided if or how the spec should be changed, at this point is there an open discussion about it, feel free to share your opinion.

About the "the speed of the coin", if you mean the confirmation time, then have I not heard about any suggestion to change this. The stake reward is independently of the block confirmations.

Hi Argon,

There was a discussion that was initiated as well as a survey that went around as apart of the Business Plan and Strategy document - as a result we will be making no changes to the coin; however create a economics learning center on the website to better educate new investors on financial terminology directly related to crypto currencies.

PoS variable interests:
        - 1st year: 20%
        - 2nd year: 15%
        - 3rd year: 10%
        - 4th and subsequent years: 5%

Right now we are 6 months into the first year so as long as you download your coins into your mintcoin wallet you will be earning the 20% annual interest in staking rewards on your coins!

If you want to try out a PoS coin, and minting your own coin - then is buying MINT a great time. There is a whole new management and dev team in place, looks very promising (imo).

By the way, it take approximately 20 days for your coins to mature, which means if you transfer MINT to your mint-wallet today, then will it take ~20 days before you can earn the interest your own coins.

Both Block Explorers are not working... please fix!!! Undecided

http://mint.blockx.info/get/chain/MintCoin
Saying the last block is from over 1 day 3 hours ago!!!??? I know this is not right, as I minted some new coins just even today.

http://mint.blockexplorer.cc/
Nothing at all.

We really need to make have reliable block explorers a priority.

I am trying to do a financial analysis of the coin, and I can't do it when the information about the network is no good.

Also, having an un-updated block explorer also understates other websites' presentation of Mintcoin's market capitalization.

For example:
http://coinmarketcap.com/ says we only have 19,508,565,921 MINT coins in circulation which is not accurate. We actually have a lot more coins in circulation now. This is significant because it hurts our market cap ranking.

Extremely fast 2 minute transaction time. (30x faster than Bitcoin, 7.5x times faster than Litecoin)
Energy efficient. (Orders of magnitude more energy efficient than Bitcoin)
You don't need as much money in order to do POS minting than other coins, which require a lot more in order for you to be able to do POS and get minting rewards.
Good POS rewards. Lots of coins make for cheap price per coin, lot of upside potential. Good risk/reward ratio. Built for scalability.
POS reward - pays the dividend, + also pay the transaction fees to the minter.

PoS Minting is like PoW mining, only the difference is, with POS mining, the Mintcoins themselves are essentially the "mining gear" so there is no added extra cost of having to traditional power consuming mining gear). When you pool lots of coins together, they mint new coins for you over time.

Contacted the admin - he said he turned it back on and it is qued to be picked back up again - it should be 100% by tomorrow - he wanted to renegotiate pricing. We are actively looking for a in-house solution for the community.
