They are probably trying to manipulate the coin value, so the price will go down and they can buy even more cheap coins
and sell them when the price is high again

You know, this is very likely actually. If you are sure that Bitcoin will stay firm in the future then you decide to buy BTC as much as possible. You start saying that Bitcoin is dead, media spreads the news, price drops, you buy, you win. Then, several years later, you write a book "How I Made My Millions". Simple. )
That is likely the case. Post on a lot of bearish topics, bring them up to light recently, and then start adjusting people's perceptions on how the price will turn. Then, as a lot of people start dumping as you continue the discussion, you can get profit off of it. It just requires a lot of influence to manipulate others. Eventually, if you have enough people being bullish, the majority of people will be sheep and follow the bandwagon and popular opinion.

Psychology, yeah!

Indeed. It's just marketing and manipulation. And many people believe such things. Power of suggestion and peer pressure. Sometimes it's too easy.

Yes you are right, and people have more faith in news and media, and that is really sad, people will not try to find on their own but will just follow the news, if people involves themselves by doing some research work on bitcoins, then they would come to know the reality.

I'd say it's a marketing scheme. Oh, is bitcoin dead? All right. I'll sell all of it and get on with my life. And at the other end the guy smiles, gets the bitcoins and gets rich because other people are gullible.

many people are doing it so that users into a panic and then they sell all their coins, what happens is, the price drops, and it only provides benefits for them alone

Exactly. It's the easiest scheme. Create a panic and then benefit from it. It's smart and easy. And people always fall for it.

Except when the majority of people that actually hold bitcoin don't panic sell that much. Have you seen the bullish activity on the forum in comparison to the bearish posts? It's quite ridiculous.

BTC is not dead. Bitcoin is still in its infancy and in a few years will reach puberty. The Bitcoin industry is still pretty much alive and kicking. It will be a pit for FinTech companies design new developments in the next 10 to 20 years

Given how low these prices have been the last few weeks, I'm starting to think this could actually be a possibility.
Just waiting for the moment when prices are low enough to buy massive amounts of BTC back..

People never fall for a thing that is repeated for 93 times. People are not as stupid as few years ago when bitcoin was still next to nothing, people got its own thought about bitcoin's future so even if some group of people trying to spread panic by spreading this kinds of news then it will affect nothing at all

Yeah, it gets pretty old. I mean it got old for the 1st couple of years back in 2013.

And to hear it again now after couple years later is just like a meh, shrug it off type of deal. Unless we see like some sort of crisis in the community that helps run bitcoin, like the largest mining pools trying to manipulate certain events thats a different story.

Like what we saw with them wanting to increase block size debate for the longest, etc.

However I think it is interesting to know the diversity of thought swarming out there. The bitcoin ecosystem is not a religion or a dogma that we are forced to blindly believe. At least it is interesting for me to know this diversity of opinions, especially when they are well-founded opinions.

Bitcoin has done nothing but gone down for the last 2+ years. We may be in the late stages of myspace and the facebook of cryptos is already out, being coded as we speak. Its undeniable that electronic currency is the future.

I agree with this.
Bitcoin today is what MS-DOS was 20 years ago ( or so )
It is shitty technology that we are going to be stuck with for decades,
and it is in the process of dying ( very very slowly )

Seriously how can one look at what some new cryptocurrencies are able to do and justify why bitcoin still exists.

Because they haven't gone through the fire yet. Bitcoin may be a little singed, but it still stands. They must go through "consensus" to prove themselves.

Any significantly advanced cryptocurrency is indistinguishable from Ponzi Tulips.

Bitcoin will never die. Too much money involved for that to happen.
It will survive forever, maybe at 10$ or maybe at 10K$
I would expect bitcoin could last forever. but we must exterminate the people who say that bitcoin will die, it enables users to panic and sell all their bitcoin, which occurred just chaos

No it does't mean they hate. Just they might have calculated the growth of bitcoin in a different perspective.
But when they find it going in a deviated path than their consideration, it makes them to express their
feel bitcoin is on death path or even dead

lol who people saying dead because prices down from the previous price, it's obvious you still do not understand about bitcoin, rising and falling prices like this are not common in bitcoin, just because the price of bitcoin fell, you can't said that bitcoin will die
