I think people are not aware about what bitcoin is and they dont know how to use is and that is the reason they don't entertain the entire concept of bitcoin.
i think that might be the case, besides that people might be afraid of bitcoin evolving and taking over the banks and other financial institutions People are not actually afraid but banks are, they will be the most who are affected if bitcoin population will grow substantially as people will prefer to bank their money in blockchain once educated that put their money in a bank which is subject to inflation and sometimes with negative interest rate. Yeah, the organizations like banks and altcoins do not want bitcoin to become more powerful as they feel a threat from the success of bitcoin to their business, and so they try to put in the minds of people that bitcoin is going to die. You are very logical reasoning, like I have not seen here. Basically, all loudly that Bitcoin is our future. But at the same time, absolutely can not explain why they think so. Your words, more accurately characterize the situation of the Bitcoin, today. |

I think that people say that Bitcoin is dead because they cannot pay the price to be able to invest in Bitcoin.

some people expected that this is the year it finally reaches the mainstream, but the price of bitcoin stands at $650 for long, may be this could also be a reason for people to say that bitcoin is dead. |

Banks don't have to be afraid of bitcoins, all they have to do is set up large mining pools and start mining everything from bitcoins to dumbcoins. They will make huge profit from transaction fees alone. |

The OP created the thread in 2014 when the bitcoin price was 60% lower than he is today. I am pretty sure no one calls bitcoin dead when 1 BTC cost close to 700$. The market is much more active now then it was 2 years ago. |

The market is much more active now then it was 2 years ago. Definitely, we can say that base on the current market standing of bitcoin it will have a good and bright future, I believe that continues support of the people who are already on board in the community will make bitcoin great as there will be increase of new adopters in the market. |

Banks don't have to be afraid of bitcoins, all they have to do is set up large mining pools and start mining everything from bitcoins to dumbcoins. They will make huge profit from transaction fees alone. They did not actually consider it as a major threat on their operation because the government is with them and the trust of the majority are still in them, however, they already consider this as a risk and have done measures to minimize the risk noted. |

I dont care why do people keep saying btc is dead
but i still use to trade and get profit for that and I never think btc is dead because many people using it and many merchant cooperate with bitcoin. so stay and enjoy. keep using bitcoin and hope go to the moon.

people saying that because they want to bring down your moral to buy bitcoin. So that they can buy it cheaper. DOn't listen to them and keep buying bitcoin because it has the power to make your rich in future.
However, there are some genuine haters of bitcoin I have seen. The simple answer you can give to them is your smile. Just ignore the haters.

I think there are several reasons why people say that bitcoin will die? The first maybe he hates bitcoin so they made a statement that bitcoin will die. the second that they aim to profit from bitcoin. because if their efforts succeed and make a lot of people panic. maybe the price will come down and he had a chance to get a cheaper price |

Bitcoin will never be dead, it is just some people trying to bring panic into the market which will make some bitcoin holders to sell their bitcoins thinking that they will loose their bitcoin thus driving the price of bitcoins down, and once the price of bitcoins is down, these people go ahead and buy bitcoins in bulk.

Bitcoin won't be dead until the trading volume hits $0 even then , there is a huge infrastructure build around bitcoin like companies,services,gambling sites.. As long as bitcoin is trading and people exchange goods and other monetary value there will always be a price and a trading volume for bitcoin.

Well, maybe people keep saying bitcoin is dead because there is a constant fear that the government will step in and try to shut the experiment down. That vast majority of the public believe that bitcoin is controlled by immoral people so in the more democratic regions of the world there may be laws passed that could greatly affect it's value at any given time. There are a lot of people just waiting for that day to happen. Insider trading, market manipulation, covert market syndicates,...etc....all play their roles, and if the net is tightened, bitcoin will be squeezed very quickly. So, it's wise to just be prepared for it.

As long as bitcoin is trading and people exchange goods and other monetary value there will always be a price and a trading volume for bitcoin.
The infrastructure built can actually adopt to using any alt. If you look at it, the money spent on blockchain applications dwarfs the market cap of Bitcoin. |
