So they trash talk, and are letting other bitcoin owners doubt the decisions they made.

people who won't see bitcoin success or even exist are the people who have no idea about bitcoin they just make a speculation.
without knew what effect that caused by their speculation in the future. in the end bitcoin stakeholders affraid that bad speculation happened.
just like last week bitcoin price dropped to almost 20% many people believe its caused by mikehearn speculation earlier.

I believe that's the reason as well for the price drop
Whenever something like that happens, it's obviously a reason for a price drop
People tend to chicken out whenever some developer quits.

Most people just get insecure and tend to panic whenever there's something negative being said about bitcoin.

Yes, they are expert thieves and cheaters. They just find it a way to buy the bitcoins at cheap and to collect it more easily just by creating a propaganda against bitcoin. Those people who posted like those, do not have complete knowledge about bitcoin. Only a least amount of people may post like that, because of disappointment due to unawareness.

Only a few percentage are considering bitcoin is dead. Its just due to the value that is getting up and down within a few days and not getting stable over a particular price for a long time.

The reason for that is more about that people compare it with gold. Gold is stable unlike bitcoin and something that goes up and down pretty fast ks always considered as bad investment and bad investment means it is a dead call. Bitcoin cant be compared with gold and people need to understand that

Its not just about they don't know what they are saying, but this is to manipulate people into selling their btc so the price goes downtrend and that they can buy cheaper btc. and for a newbie who fear they could lose thier investment, they sell.
those who posts such thing do have motives in telling sort of things and in short, they're trolls.

yes I also do not, they think bitcoin will soon end and be in perdulikan, but I think bitcoin will always live as the money we use in our respective countries, does not make sense if they say bitcoin will die

Every time, for as long as I remember, that I go on bitcointalk, everyone keeps posting "BTC IS DEAD" "SELL" etc... And then a few Sr/Hero members come and explain how thats wrong.

I just don't get it.

Aren't we used to the price fluctuating by now? Whats with all the crying/moaning about price bubbles, crashing, inflations, Russia, China blablablablablablaaaaa!

Jeez... Do some research before posting, I saw one post which got LOADS of attention, yet the first post was done by paint, with an unlabelled graph which showed wrong data!

This is getting to the point where we are affecting newer members or gullible people into selling/dumping all their coins instead of keeping them. I mean when I come on the forum, I see that its crashing, why would I buy in?

I think we need to stop giving the panicking people attention and focus more on positive sides.

I like the fact that this was posted almost 2 years ago. And here we are 2 years later. Bitcoin is not only not dead but is rising. Yes, it was around $600 (remember the bulb) in February 2014 and now it's only around $400 but give it several months and the price will be around $600 again only this time without any chance to go down in the future.

That might be true, also they can be that friendly to make the price low so that we can buy bitcoins.
When it is high it will be just expensive to buy it.

I would say the dump came from primarily both Hearn's statements and the Crypsty collapse occurring at roughly the same time.

I read somewhere that a lot of the selling was because people wouldn't want to be caught in a currency that is politically unstable, and thus they could have been backing out and waiting to see what happens to Bitcoin in the interim.
