obviously that software would have to be open source edit: it's more like a simple automation script because one could do this kind of transferring manually if he wanted to. Making 100 transactions manually would just be a way too much. Transaction fees could be problem but at trading sites you're going to pay to the site. There still has to be trust in the operator. Open source isn't read only. If it's open source you could trust that it will always do as it says, ie only ever put a small amount of coins in harms way with regard to cheating. If the other end modified the program to do something funky then you could still trust that the most you would lose is 1% or whatever it is configured for. It would be nice to prove that both ends were using a certain program / protocol to do the sending but I don't know how this can be done.

Hardly. There's just no news in Crypto world besides TRC and FRC that would be interesting. Everyone is still waiting for the ASIC apocalypse. Then things will shake out. Right now, it's the holidays and we are just waiting to see what comes next.

Great to see quicker rate changes than within the last weeks. Don't worry about the LTC value. It doesn't really matters if the rate goes up or down as long as there is a wave and the existence of the commodity makes at least some sort of 'sense'. BTC was the first good commodity in modern ages and LTC is the most valuable alternative right now. You should also know that there is a lot of money within the big exchanges to make money on the value fluctuation. The current value lost seems to be just another try from some big players in the cryptocurrency trading market to make some quick money out of it. If that's the case then the value will go up again sooner or later. Maybe a good time to invest in it?
|
Next development steps to go (I'm working on the designs): 1. A decentralized cryptoexchange protocol 2. A cryptocoin with a fix USD/Coin rate

Dumping by the people who have been mining at low difficulties, followed by panic selling. Because of the recent difficulty coaster exploitation, a lot of pernicious miners entered the network hoping to make large profits mining only every other adjustment period. Their selling is depressing the price, but also decreasing the likelihood of them continuing this difficulty exploit in the future. What we're seeing is a normal price adjustment as far as I am concerned. In fact, I'm surprised it took this long.

There was a 10% value increase twice since that dump. Nice to see fast fluctuations that includes rate changes in both directions again. It seems that this dumps created by the temp miners who prefer bitcoin has a big rate influence. I'm just wondering what the next big rate in-/decrease will be. Another dump related to the first bitcoin block reward bisection? A big increase in bitcoin 'real life' acceptance? The bitcoin ASICs? The first litecoin block reward bisection? Or simply pure speculation?

Don't worry about that Bowjob. It's already up again and website can go down. Litecoin is not that a big of a topic that the official site has to be up 24/7. Some sort of a central 'authority' is mandatory for a good 'commercial' image but that's irrelevant as long as ltc is mainly used by freaks. It's decentralized anyway so it would go on without the official developer team as long as people are willing to keep it alive. So, help yourself and don't be scared that easy .

Is there a safe way to receive/send LTC without downloading the whole blockchain? Any alternative client?
I believe there is an Electrum client for Litecoin, but I'm not entirely sure.

I believe there is an Electrum client for Litecoin, but I'm not entirely sure. there is a fork on github: https://github.com/litecoin-project/Electrumput i think nothing has be done for this. electrum for litecoin would be a HUGE move forward for litecoin!!! what shall we do to get that live? unfortunately i dont know what to change for this to work..
