This is getting annoying now, just went to reboot into bootcamp and found this... Seems like they're sneakily popping under constantly! How about using a fucking image hosting site wich is visible for everyone instead of imgur.com, please? Think you could've closed your torrents? You're showing the world you illegally download movies. Good luck with that.

My only complaint about the alerts in the Qt client (which applies to bitcoin-qt as well, BTW) is: why the hell does it tell me to visit a URL without making said URL clickable, or even so much as being copy-pastable?! I'll be damned if I'm going to manually type a URL into a browser in the 21st century

Oh no I'm sure someone is gonna hunt me down for that. Movies? I see one. I was in the process of shutting down, these windows persisted though. And whats wrong with imgur? Didn't know they blocked access from anywhere.

Litecoin 0.8.3.1 experimental source code and binary released. Please read through the post: https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,4371.msg30806.htmlIt's not ready for everyone yet, but if you live on the cutting edge, try it out. But do make backups of your wallet. And please help us review the source code so that we can get it ready for public release. Thanks!

This matching challenge is different. The sponsor revealed himself, and his goal is to encourage many little donations to demonstrate the size of our community. You don't need to be rich to contribute to the future of Litecoin. If only a tiny fraction of our users gave 1 LTC each, that would send a powerful message to vendors about the seriousness of our community to protect the network in the long-term. Please note the latest development progress, often posted on the Litecoin Project Google+ page.

https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,4804Here is a preliminary plan for what the Litecoin Dev Team is thinking about for a late-2013 release, perhaps for Litecoin-0.9.x. This change would make the Litecoin client faster, use less memory for everyone, and with absolutely zero drawbacks. Public comment is requested.

Are you going to reset the blockchain or let everyone keep all these premines? There is no premine, just butt hurts who didn't mine when LTC started and expect the world to stop and reset for them i.e. if you started mining today and someone in a years time said the same thing you just said, you think LTC should reset for them in a year also?

I upgraded from 0.6.9.2 to 0.8.3.7 linux 64 binaries and now litecoind getinfo doesn't work. It says "error: no response from server" after a long time and then terminates. I can run litecoin-qt and it appears functional (fully re-indexed), but it also doesn't respond to litecoind probes. netstat shows ports open and even connections established with litecoind and litecoin-qt, there is just no response on RPC or solo-mining. I didn't see anything that would require configuration changes in the release notes. Anything I missed? Any suggestions?

Try adding server=1 to ~/.litecoin/litecoin.conf Thanks for the suggestion. It was working before the upgrade and that line is in litecoin.conf. Also, litecoind getinfo worked after the upgrade until it finished reindexing... $ ./litecoind getinfo { "version" : 80307, "protocolversion" : 70002, "walletversion" : 60000, "balance" : 0.00000000, "blocks" : 145634, "timeoffset" : 726, "connections" : 10, "proxy" : "", "difficulty" : 1.03000346, "testnet" : false, "keypoololdest" : 1344962095, "keypoolsize" : 19, "paytxfee" : 0.00000000, "mininput" : 0.00010000, "unlocked_until" : 0, "errors" : "" } ...some time later... $ ./litecoind getinfo error: no response from server ...and for the record, here is litecoin.conf: server=1 rpcuser=*REMOVED* rpcpassword=*REMOVED*
#Uncomment to have client mine #gen=1
#Default rpcport=9332
#Necessary? rpcallowip=*
daemon=1
addnode=*REMOVED* I have been tinkering, but no luck so far.
