Can the efficiency of the Myriad code to keep each algorithm getting 1/5 blocks on average be measured by looking at this pie chart?

(image)

I was wondering why Skein is deviating so low and if this means there is room for improvement in the design on the coin that we can test on a testnet or something? I'm assuming we want to tend towards 20% for each and if Skein keeps dropping to 19.4, then 19.3, etc., we can be alerted that something is wrong?

That is from the whole blockchain. Ignore the earlier parts before things settled down, and instead look at figures for a short recent period (e.g. the last 24 hours, or 2880 blocks). One standard deviation each way would be 19.25%-20.75%. Two standard deviations each way would be 18.5%-21.5%.

You might even find that Skein has got more of its fair share of blocks in the last few days.

You should also expect a very slight preference towards the algorithms with high numerical difficulties (in decreasing order: SHA, Skein, Groestl, Qubit, Scrypt), for the reasons outlined recently.

Good explanation, thank you very much.

Myriadcoin - the first multi-PoW blockchain! (Mine with SHA256 [ASICs], Scrypt [GPU/ASICs], Skein [GPUs], Groestl [GPUs], OR Qubit [CPUs/GPUs]).

those are manual orders. some joker is (effectively) pushing prices up or down. had some fun last night and sold into his 13.0000 orders when he was trying to push. with a mere 1000 myr i lowered the price 120 satoshi.

if you're trading on mintpal don't be intimidated, don't panic. set a price for sells and buys and stick to your decision. no matter what walls show up!

Well, after some block found, i have found a issue. The p2pool qubit is down for the moment to avoid people throwing hash rate for nothing.

Quick question from a trader, when are we going to see the amount of coins being released onto the market slow down? Its concerning to me the coin is only a little over a month old and already there is 116 million coins on the market when the final coin count is supposed to be 2 billion in about 10 years? I just worry any investment I make now is going to be eaten up badly by inflation.

Once supply reach 967,680,000 the award will be halved. Halved again at 1,451,520,000.

Personally I'd like to see it start adjusting sooner, but I think it means this coin has more use as distributed currency than a trading commodity.

Don't forget, there was no premine as well.

had the same thought, but after all it says "a coin for everyone" so everybody should get the chance to mine with high rewards.

Price on mintpal is so manipulated it hurts to watch in real time..  Once the pump is over, tonight or tomorrow, it will plummet down to 300 sat.

If you add all buys in the last 24h they add up to 5-10BTC compared to 200BTC+ sells..

This guy is spreading FUD and it worked. Funny.

24h trade volume: 149btc

sells somewhat higher than buys since the price has gone down a little. Didn't stay to check but it shouldn't be a big difference.

Amateur move - you cannot "add up sell walls". What are you counting the 10000 BTC sell order at 1 BTC to one MYR?
Either you are FUDing for cheap price or you should not be trading if you are actually doing your math like that.

On another note --- Don't be fooled by shakeouts people. This whale is playing you like a fiddle. Pushing price up and down like a saltshaker.
No whale wants weak hands around for 2x-5x increases.

Amateur hour.... I'm following trades in real time for the last 10+ hours ... Anyway, price back to 300sats in 10-12 hours..

Just read the the noble coin devs "state of the alternative cryptocurrency" post. Quite an interesting read. Would definitely recommend it.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=555576.0

In the post he addresses the technical and social issues facing many alternative currencies. As i was reading it, it occurred to me that a variety of the technical issues he mentions in his paper, this coin in theory seem to have resolved, such as a 51% attack.

However i'm quite inexperienced in the actual technicalities of cryptocurrencies so i was wondering if some one with a better understanding could shed some light on this?

Maybe more bounty money for a technical paper is in order :p
