This doesn't take affect for a few years, but it may help Topps cards holders over the years after they stop producing.

I think after next year they lose the license to list the team logo on the cards.  Then completely lose the license shortly after.  The fact that baseball sold topps out is terrible.  Topps and baseball cards just go together.  Not a fanatics fan so will probably slow down on the bb cards going forward.

I agree... But... Doesn't this theoretically make Topps cards more valuable moving forward? I hope so at least. 🤷‍♂️🚀

Yes, the Topps cards will become more valuable...it's what the articles are saying. The Players Union orchestrated a take over, the way that I understand it is, Topps never made it to the table to bid. No one told them when to be there. And, Topps lost the right to take the players image's. The same thing has happened to the Basketball venue. Looks like "Fanatics" is systematically taking over the sports card rights and the Players Unions are letting them....so I'd venture to say that the players want things to change. It will take some time, but everyone will settle in just fine. Including us. Roll with it, there's nothing we can do about it anyways.

I mean when panini took over basketball and football it didn't make upperdeck or topps or whatever more valuable.  This is a little different being topps and baseball but it won't move the needle all that much. Just disappointing baseball needs topps they go hand in hand

I know what you mean. if i were to open something from him, it'd be a greater risk in my storage system for sure.

The hand numbering is underrated on these.  I can't think of many outside of ginter line that have that.  Very cool.

* Had a dialogue with Dave, owner of a local sports card shop today. Looking like anyone who has cards in for grading will be waiting a VERY long time. The shortage of plastic for the slabs, and the fact that the holders from China and other places are sitting on ships in the water with no one to unload them means a long wait. **Note: PSA has lowered one of the two grading fee's from $200 to $150...the other fee is still the $300/2 week turn around.  

**Side Note:
Buy your Thanksgiving Turkeys NOW. Buy you pumpkin pie filling and other canned goods while they are reasonable. Aluminum is going up in price, not the food, and will increase food costs...stock up. Tomato's, ketchup, salsa, tomato juice--all going to be in shortage--if you like to make chili in the winter--stock up now. When it gets close to the holidays, look for stores to close...the few people they have will quit, that's the rumor, store owners here are already being told that their orders for Christmas supplies will not arrive. Personally, I hope they're wrong....but just in case, PLEASE be aware! I hope everyone in here is prepared and wish each of you the very best in the days ahead.

Catsup eww.  Ketchup and heinz please.  As far as grading yeah they are taking long.  I sent about 100 cards in March and the are just up to January's submissions right now (psa).  At the rate they are going I'd assume the front end of 2022 I should see them back.  With them staffing up and closing down submissions for awhile it will help but this is the first time I'm hearing about plastic holder shortages.  Where  is dave's source for this info?  Sounds like a made up story psa never came out and said anything, they admitted the overload of submissions and lack of workforce is the issue.
