Topps does release a 1/1 glossy for each of the base cards, separate from the base, hotbox silvers, and other numbered cards. It has the "1/1" in typewriter print on the back, not hand ink, but for these cards only I believe.  Here is an example of the 2018 Ichiro card to compare the type on the back.

fleabay Ichiro example

I am not sure I have seen this 1/1 for #83 here before, but maybe I missed it. A very nice card if you happen to have it. One way to find out what it is worth is an auction and see what someone is willing to pay for it.  Cheesy

I think there three cards where there were 1 of 1 cards - as posted in the original post on this thread.

Glossy 1-of-1 Cryptocurrency Card

   Description
Printed on High-Gloss Card Stock
Hand Numbered 1-of-1
Standard 2.5" x 3.5" trading card size, White background (front), glossy finish
Retail pack odds of finding a Glossy mini: 1:8,086 packs (1:~2,400,000 packs for #83 specifically)
Not yet known to be found; Please post pictures or info if you have it.

this appears to be the one you are talking about but it was hand written not typed - as teegumes pointed out - and as it is stated above

Mini Glossy 1-of-1 Cryptocurrency Card

   Description
Printed on High-Gloss Card Stock
Hand numbered 1-of-1
Retail pack odds of finding a Glossy mini: 1:8,086 packs (1:~2,400,000 packs for #83 specifically)
Miniature 1.5" x 2.75" trading card, White background (front), glossy finish
Discovered Nov 2018 by bitcointalk forum user Luckysoab2121 in a retail blaster pack purchased on Amazon.  Sold for over $2,000 on eBay a few days later.

PSA Population Report (updated Sept 2019)
   Grade 9 - 1

   Prior Sales Info
   $2,000 eBay  (Source: https://ebay.us/IQQuhZ) - November 19, 2018

this is not a mini, so not the one you are talking about

Blank Back Cryptocurrency Card

   Description
Sold direct from Topps Vault on eBay
Hologram on reverse side numbered 1-of-1
Serial # 053911
Ebay sales link:  http://r.ebay.com/kU9SvT
Sold by Topps on eBay for $2,475.00 on Aug 20, 2018

PSA Population Report (updated Sept 2019)
   None listed

this one is a full size but has a blank back, so again cannot be the one you are talking about

also as teegumes stated, all the numbered cards have been penned, none typed.

the one you posted appears to be the base, lowest value card with 1/1 most likely done with a typewriter as it does not look printed on.

edit - geophphreigh above stated that there was a 1/1 typewritten for the other base cares so maybe it could be legit? I only have the original post as reference.

Looking at geophphreigh's post maybe it could be the glossy 1/1. The OP reference post could have been a mistake with the handwritten part but we will wait for the experts to come chime in. Would be nice to see a standard #83 beside this card to be able to make the call. I do believe we have people that have open communication channels with Topps and they could confirm.

The fact that the mini 1/1 glossy is written in pen still looks fish for this card though.

Thanks for your help on ebay last night MRSTACY, I appreciate your knowledge. Thank you minerjones with the assist!

This is definitely the real card. No questions abou that. PSA has verified. I don't want to list on ebay because they want 10%. I am having trouble embedding the picture as I am not good with forums. I have provided a link with the full psa card, I did some research before I posted the full picture. I dont see why its rated a 9 as I could have just got this authenticated if I thought it was anythig less than a 10. corners and centering are good. They graded mint, I feel it is gem mint. I hope this can find a good home soon.

Attached is the link for the back of the card, I hope this helps. I am looking for an offer. I don't have enough knowledge to put an accurate price. Some of the cards have already sold for 6500 as shown in the first post and was  numbered to #/25. I can throw it up on ebay and put a buy it now for 250k just to see what kind of offers I get. I know that is a bit high, but someone may want to send some love, IMO this is the holy grail of them all.

Look it's a nice card no doubt but a quarter mil is just insane.  I'm aware of the card scene and the price I would say would be in the thousands, i dont really think it's in the 10s just single thousands.  That is an assessment based on previous sales (which was much hotter when they came out vs now) and other rare hit cards and what they are going for. This is not a knock just a reality.  Good luck with your sale either way it's a nice piece.

Are you the one that pulled it? Do you recall noticing it right away or ?  i never give those full-size cards a second look.  They should do something special to differentiate the full-size special ones.

playing devil's advocate here - are there other differences to the card vs the base card? Would be nice to see one of each side by side for comparison - the reason I say this is, if it is exactly the same as the base card but with a typed 1/1 on it - what would keep everyone with a base card adding a 1/1 on theirs? is there any way to validate which 1/1 would be the real one then?

I don't know that it's the RAREST card, I own the ONLY ERROR card that came from the Topps medley of cards for 2018. Your card was made intentionally.... the real UNICORN is the one in a million, mistake card. Most collectors put that ahead of a 1/1 card for "Rarity". Just sayin', also...I have a Cryptocurrency 3-in-1 card that's a 1/1 as well. So, you're not the only one to have one of one's. But, hey, your card is definitely  cool. Congrats!!  Smiley

Anyone know what the 1/1 Rookie card is worth? The Black Lotus Magic card goes for over $350k This is the rarest of rare rookie cards for bitcoin. It's not a blank back or mini card, it is the 1/1 Standard sized card. This is the rarest card pulled from hundred of thousands of packs   Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

The only cards I use the words holy grail for are the printing plates( the rainbow for all four of them).  Perhaps all 4 printings plates could have a value of a quarter million if the right buyer comes along.  PSA 9 on a 1/1 card or a 1/5 card with no higher grades should be of no concern, if it was less than mint it could make a difference.  Anyway, there are my thoughts on the matter.   Best way to find out what it's worth at this moment is to auction it.   Good luck, it's a beautiful card.

The card is "glossy"
The stock base cards are matte.
Would be similar to the finish on the silver hot-box cards.

Thank you

ahh ok -based on the pics it pretty much looks the same as mine, but maybe different lighting - that is why, like others have also said, it would be nice to see this side by side to the base card so as to see the differences. Otherwise it might just be able to attribute the differences to lighting.

I see that with the Ken Griffey Jr "Tiffany" cards a lot -- but when you put them side by side, absolutely no comparison.

I guess my whole point here is with it being typed vs printed it seems like someone could alter some of the less rare cards by simply typing a 1/1 on the card and trying to pass a base card off as the glossy one

it's always a good idea to make sure the authenticity has been confirmed as this one has.  When cards get expensive there will always be counterfeits showing up.  The 1984 - 85 star card Michael Jordan and 1986 fleer Michael Jordan are examples.  Always exercise caution on the high end cards

It has been professionally authenticated by the top grading company in the US. This is the first time anyone has viewed the photo of the glossy standard size 1/1. Mr. Hybridsole did such an amazing job in this thread, i felt it was necessary to post it here and also, hope to find a new home for it.  Anyone can reach out to PSA  and verify the validity.  You can view the 1/1 on the mini cards front. That is for the mini plates and mini, my cards #1/1 is on the back.

The topps vault which is like topps now (if you know, then you know) puts out cards that you can purchase in auction or website which are nothing close to the retail cards. Ask a collector to compare topps vault or topps now to a retail card. Its like comparing an original Picasso by comparing it to a print.  There is not another card  like this one, no #/99, #/50, #/25 , #/5 . This is the holy grail, for the bitcoin rookie card. Feel free to ask me any other questions.

Yes, it is my Unicorn.

I have updated the OP to reflect the fact that the standard glossy is not handwritten.  Not sure where I got the info from originally, but seeing other examples on ebay with the typed 1/1 looks valid along with this card's PSA authenticity.  I have also included this card in the OP.  Congrats to bucksbuck on such a rare find!

I appreciate opinions,  I have already had 2 bids over 10k which I politely declined. It has been up for only 3 days. I am guessing the value you put on the card was what you would like to pay to have this in your collection and I appreciate the salesman approach you had choosen to take.

Hi bucksbuck - nice pull. I also like how you're using my xrpchat posting in your ebay posting Wink

So I had to chime in because I follow this thread. I think crypto cards are only going to appreciate from base and X 2018 A&G.

My question is, I'm confused what A&G did here? So the base set had a 'Glossy' 1/1? I have a 'Silver' Glossy PSA 10, with no number. Is a 1/1 in the base the 'actual card'? What was the point of numbering a Glossy but not numbering the Silver Glossy which implies a higher quality printing? I still think you get great money for it but a PSA 10 Red Mini out /5 would basically be the only one in existence in the better X set? Which unfortunately I don't have. The Wood? Even the X Black minis are priced below this base card? This kind of came out of nowhere. Not doubting it but it definitely reprices the market I would think? I hope this card does sell well because I think it greatly improves my PSA 10.

It is not salesmanship it is merely understanding the current sports cards genre and pricing.  While I admire you declining over $10k for the card I think you are bat shit crazy because what is this supposed to eclipse all sport card records?  I am not a buyer of the high priced crypto cards so maybe I'm "out of touch" but to say this should be higher priced than some of the most prized sports cards is well. ....a little insane

The grail of hockey in the gretsky rc you can get for under $10k
The grail of basketball jordon fleer 86 rookie you can get a cherry psa grade card for ~10k.  Why should this be over a hundred thousands dollars.  Cause topps made 1 of them...

My guess is that they numbered this "glossy" 1/1 base card because identifying it when sorting cards, it might be missed...
This is similar to the Glow-In-The-Dark minis, that looked almost identical to the regular minis unless you held up to light/close inspection to see the extra GID printing.
And the Silver Glossy cards were just hot-box cards, there were tons of them printed.... not just 1

Got it, thanks. I did know the Silver Glossy had multiple printed. Interesting release that hopefully we're talking about years to come. I remember reading about the black minis where only at most 50 were printed and it reminded me if Honus Wagner which was over a 100. I think all of these - the wood, 1/1, brookie, red minis, x black minis, glowy, in various pricing levels appreciate massively over next couple decades. If China hears about them it will appreciate the pricing quicker. China massively increase pricing on Dr. J., Magic, Bird card as well as Jordan and Kobe, etc. Crypto and Basketball over there, barring things geopolitically cool down.
