The miner needs a Witness to verify the block before it becomes valid. Witnesses can only verify blocks that play according to the rules, so a miner has to share a block immediately to avoid losing money. This prevents miners from misbehaving. A Witness is anonymous and is selected at random.

Before witnessing miners were able to do this but in the whitepaper it says witnesses decide the course Gulden follows, if the witnesses don't upgrade than the hard fork won't take place from what I understand.

Witnesses also makes Gulden more secure than bitcoin and any other coin at these prices and more so the higher the price goes.

I watch a lot of alt progress and I finally believe Gulden is doing enough to make it different enough from bitcoin, litecoin and other alts with the combination of changes it has made. PoW2, SIGMA and HD wallets, the developers need to continue on this path to make Gulden different or it ultimately won't be a success. A lot of alts claim to be better than bitcoin but simply being a little faster will not be enough for people to switch from bitcoin.

Keep up the good work and I have bought some coins to support. Not much but I want to have some.

This coin has larger problems if it can't sustain its price with so few coins mined daily. Digibyte is the almost the same price as this shit and over a million coins a mined a day. Over 12 billion coins mined already and you retards are blaming the scrypt miners. GTFO!!

It's called momentum, why would anyone place higher bids or buy the sell orders when they know the pools are dumping a batch of blocks every 1-2 hours. Looking at bittrex I can tell which are the pool sales. Place small bids and you are guaranteed to get coins.
8 days to go and it will be refreshing for the gulden community and users not to have the constant dumps anymore and if the price gets high enough more people will notice the awesome innovative witnessing that Gulden has in place.

You can mine EFL, we won't change from scrypt. We don't have much inflation but the price is low, if more miners supported us the price will go higher.

I was also against it but it was explained that the team needs a income, none of the developers are rich enough that they can develop for free. Bart in slack said other developers who develop for Gulden can also get an income from the 40, it's Gulden board that wil control the 40NLG and how and when it's spent. The 40 will also be used for marketing which Rijk was never good with.

Most of the community on telegram say marketing and lack of exchanges is the reason the price is this low. On the Gulden slack they say because the pools dump all the time.

Gulden is now a very profitable coin to mine with  Scrypt by miningpools. So almost all those coins are dumped on the market daily.
In 5 days Gulden will dump Scrypt and adopt a newly developed solo mining algorithm.
This will most certainly stop the flow of coins dumped on the market, since individuals mining are more likely to keep the coins to sell them later for better price and partly also they will be put into witness deposito’s not coming to market for years.

So this mining algo change could be the best happening to Gulden price for years.
