From what I can tell Gulden has not taken on any debt risk which many founders end up doing for marketing, to get listings on exchanges and pay for development.
This was all raised within the Gulden community with the premine and development reward.

The debt free life , no risk taking life is stable but will slow progress , in the event the financial system has a meltdown due to debt defaults and unmitigated leverage,  Gulden will be a safe space in the crypto universe.

The Gulden community is one of the best in crypto, was surprised when Novo was announced more people didn't leave. Novo has had the unfortunate consequence of slowing development for Gulden.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

This is the reason 5% of my crypto folio is in Gulden, the price is stable and moves up slowly with time. Hype is non existent and the team keeps trucking on with development without chasing short term money. It's very Gen X type mentality, boring but hard work ethic from the developers.

What are the plans for this coin? I am looking at a few low value coins to take a risk on and Gulden was suggested by a friend as a coin that has not lived up to it's potential in terms of price.

I would sum Gulden up as a sad case of unfortunate decisions at unfortunate times.

The best news of 2021 has been the max supply change from 1.68 billion to 700 million and reward from 160 to 90 and will halve every 4 years. Gulden is a long term buy for this reason alone at these prices, pre Novo, Gulden had super fast development and lots of innovation that is still ahead of most coins today. A few more exchanges and a bit more exposure and it is one coin that can easily achieve 100x from todays prices in 4-5 years.

The below link has good detail of what Gulden has done, it's a real shame the author never kept the first post up to date. Like the poster above has mentioned the Gulden specifications has changed for the better.

I get most of my information on telegram but the main community is on slack.

This forum frustratingly does not have a thumbs up. Will have a look, thanks.

pre Novo?

Novo was a new coin created by Rijk to raise more funds for development. In hindsight if they tried lowering the max supply and rewards for Gulden first, it's all that would of been needed to keep development funded. The problem for the main developer Malcolm, is he has to support 2 blockchains and not 1, which will slow development for Gulden.

Novo had it's name changed to florin and the one positive is that the supply is so little that it doesn't affect Gulden in a financial way because there is not much to buy. It's more of a time sink.

Is it not technically possible to add tokens/coins to the Gulden blockchain? This imo would create more value for both ?

Have decided to start investing in Gulden, lets see how it goes.

Buying 1% of the total supply of this coin was too cheap, another 1% worth it long term?

Welcome to the Gulden club! You can't go wrong investing in Gulden. I would suggest placing lower bids and let the weak hands dump for more Gulden and let the rest of the Gulden community make some Gulden profit from the dumpers.

Not going to be as easy to replace the Gulden you sold, the power of the reward change will improve with time as the supply is not coming on so fast. Sure you will get some low IQ kids in the community dumping thinking it's like the good ol days of Rijks 160 never changing reward.

It is possible, time will tell. Other people could dump to get out and not return?

Most of the boomers would of sold in the last 3 months, including my good friend Aat, moved their investments to a team with short term ambitions.

How is my boy Nick doing these days?

This is by far the most riskiest purchase of all the coins I have. I won't be buying more as 1% of the total supply is already in dangerous territory as I won't be doing any work for the coin, I am only 1 investor.
Please let me know if there is any campaigns running that I can contribute towards, in order to help this coin get some attention.

There was funding for bitvavo exchange listing but was cancelled. No other funding I know of.

Gulden was created in 2014, the team never gives up trying. I have been scammed with 2 or 3 alts that came and went. 8bit was the worst of them for me but Gulden team has always stayed through bad times when the price is low. I never give up Gulden as Gulden never gave
up on me.

Trust me m8, I am a small fish in a big pond, I can't afford to be a whale in a top 300 coin and a goal of mine was to be a one percenter in a coin that has promise. I aim to have 7 million to make it 1% of max supply.

Gulden was my first coin I purchased and it was at a bad time in 2017. I will never make profit off Gulden but it taught me a lot about crypto and have made up my loses and much more on other coins. Sometimes you have to lose to win and learn.

Malcolm is truly a gem of a developer and he doesn't have much support around him. Roel from Nocks was the only other person at Gulden who made things happen fast, but I am liking what Robby is doing. One day if Gulden can have the Malcolm's,  the Roels and the Robbys of this world at the same time Gulden will become a different coin in the eyes of the public.
