Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Fantastic changes in today's 11game 5k tourney. Flattening the 1st 4 levels makes these levels worth playing and should get more players to register on time.  For those who didn't play they made level 1- 4 all the same blinds as level 4. I would suggest doing the same thing for all tourneys that are limit.

Lower cash game rake caps. It's getting silly. The last rake change was at BTC $18,000. BTC is almost $27,000 now. That's a 50% rake increase in USD value.

Traditionally I have defended SWC when it comes to rake, but Bert is right, this is getting a little ridiculous. It feels a little bit like you're trying to feel out whether/what people will accept. Rake cap at Chinese is $12 now and over $7 dollar on the jackpot tables. That is higher than in Vegas live games!

I know you want to give yourself a little christmas present, fine. But for the new year, you really should be more proactive in quick changes. Such is the burden of a site dealing with a (quickly) appreciating asset. Atleast you can lower the rake (not really, just keeping in reasonable in fiat terms) and get the associated PR, where $ sites have to raise rake just to counter inflation. You may want to use that.

Edit: I was notified that I should also note the recent positives, so here we go: HS series seems fun, with the BTC price I may even play some more 3ks (won the BigO). Giving a multiplier for people registering early was a good idea, coming from a guy who won't be competing for the leaderboard. And yes, the change to the mix schedule was good and necessary. Good job on those!

SwC's wallet needed to be synced back up yesterday which created a several hour window of deposits/withdrawals not being able to be requested. This has since been fixed.

AlexTrebbert, SwC is aware that you and others want the rake adjusted and find ACR's higher % but lower max rake to be more favorable. They are currently working on creating a new rake schedule, which should come out this week.

can we expect more MTT leaderboards in the future and can we think about weighting them in a way that doesnt make the winner of the one single biggest mtt have a stupid lead?

I have not been saying I "find ACR's higher % but lower max rake to be more favorable." I have been saying for months that I find ACR's hu rake better.  Lower heads up rake makes it easier to start games. What you need to do is to have limit games of $10/20 and under like ACR be 50 cent USD heads up rake. And hu limit rake should never be over $1 USD so set it accordingly so you don't kill the games again. You are raking over $2 USD in heads up limit games now at $25/$50 and above.

Your lower % makes very little difference in bigger limit games. It's all about the cap.

Also look into the big bet heads up rake.  The ACR max is $1.25 at $5/10, $1 for $2/4 - $4/8, and $.50 bellow that. SWC is currently raking over $3 USD heads up at some of the biggest stakes.

Yes I could complain about other problems in your rake schedule, but I have consistently stuck with pointing out the heads up situation.

When you have the rake too high heads up, you create extreme bum hunting situations.  You make it impossible for regs to battle hu to get a game going because the game becomes unbeatable and the only one winning is SWC.

Congrats on winning your second BPHS tournament today RUchamp!

There have been leaderboards for the past several tournament series and will continue to be a part of future series. We use a great formula that allows for competitive leaderboards.

This is an important point. This is why one table of a limit will be running with three to four people on a wait list and not another one getting started.

Like others have said: The cap is really the only thing that matters, the % is basically irrelevant.

I think you should consider coming up with a plan now on how you intend to respond to future price changes in bitcoin.  If the price of bitcoin goes down, the cap should go up, and if price goes up, cap goes down.  Informing players ahead of time what price will trigger the change, and what the change will be will avoid having to go through this in the future.

We should wait with criticism until they actually announce the changes, maybe they won't be that bad. Who knows. And if it is, we can spend 2021 in the player lounge thread looking for alternatives. But for the moment, I'll go back to defending SWC on rake, before the price jump it really wasn't that bad and I would even say that before the recent rake increase, it was a steal at some OFCp games (interestingly now, I think they are the biggest problem).

I am happy that we do have a group of players that are saying their opinions consistently despite the censoring attempts to keep the thread "clean" and HHs mission is to get to 500 players online, so let's extend some good will until next week and hope his actions fit the mission statement.
