Gold is more trusted investment for many many years so one shouldn't forget to invest in it whenever they get a chance to invest. But bitcoin is a new and more dynamic in price movement so we can easily make some quick profits from bitcoins. So we should buy both of these products.

Profitwise, bitcoin. It is more volatile, so if you time it right, it's more profitable. Most purple think it is a +EV. If you want to play it safe, golf but I can't promise you'll make profit.

I do agree gold has a more trust rating in the world compared to bitcoins. Gold prices moves slow and study but since bitcoin prices moves so fast and many people want to make profits faster so bitcoins are quite popular than gold at least in this forum. Because many people may not be knowing bitcoins so they still go to gold investments.

I would do that. Both are low in value at the moment and both will grow in future.
Although gold will have to find the bottom first while Bitcoin will continue growing from the actual 300+ Level.

Yeah that is true, only drawback, bitcoin has not been so popular in the community

Let's put this scenario on the board though just for giggles:

Central banks collapse along with fiat... what happens next? How do we place a value to our bitcoins? Personally, I think the answer is simple, in that it will be priced in terms of gold itself.

Before the governments dropped the gold standard on fiat, ever note the government issued was a note saying you can redeem this note for X amount of gold. I think that's where cryptos are going to be heading in the future.

For a long time investment i would choose gold

because gold is limited resources, so I think the price will go up eventually in 10 years, and also the price of the gold is more stable than BTC (for now)
Nowadays Bitcoin is booming but maybe someday Bitcoin can be replace by other coin which is more valuable

well this is not a bitcoin fault, it's people fault, they need to search more for bitcoin and try to use it

also you can't compare the notoriety with gold, which has 100 years already

Just so you know, this is speculation not investment which is perfectly fine but company accounts take longer to process and declare then one or two years so its not really considered that you have placed money anywhere till a business cycle can take place with the money in place

1 year for Bitcoin is way too short in my opinion. This is not enough time to see where will this thing definitely go and not enough time for community to develop everything that needs to be develop. About 4 year time period is better in my opinion.

You are better of investing less but for a longer time period Bitcoin wise.

it is a big debate, but I am sure we cant decide with the current scenario as nobody is sure about what we have in our future.
bitcoin is good for day trading, buy at low price and dispose at high price.
gold price doesn't have that much fluctuation to make good money in day trading

For some trading I will choose Bitcoin, because gold is not a good value to trade with at least for me.
With bitcoin you never know of it will increase so much or go low and maybe buy more.
But I prefer to choose both is a good thing to have.

I will allocate 20/80 for gold and bitcoin. I will hold most of bitcoin and use some of it to increase the circulation so as to increase the value of bitcoin.

I guess I should hold a little bit of both. It is the best option for the future. If in anycase bitcoin goes wrong, you still have your gold.

Kinda a hard pick since Gold has been here for ages and bitcoin is just coming around the corner

If I had to pick, I would pick for Gold, it's been around longer and it's still doing okay on the market
