I'm sad to see you go, but I also fully understand the reasons behind it - for sure it is not easy being a pool operator these days!
Thanks for letting us know about it, yaamp, and best of luck for all future projects.

(That being said, of course, like everyone here, I would be happy to see your pool back online - that's to say your pool was much appreciated and, shall I say, one of the best ones around that I have ever come to know.)

This is a very sad turn of events, though certainly quite understandable. Even so, like many others, I would love to see this pool, or something with the same capabilities, back on its feet in the future. Nicehash is great for what it is, but I think it's a huge asset to miners to have an alternative that is primarily a multipool like YAAMP, which essentially watches various coins for you automatically and prevents rental rates from falling too far below what you could get from mining directly. Of the multipools I've seen/used, YAAMP easily had the best setup, with far more coins/algos than I've seen on any other pool, an extremely handy (and fairly quickly updating) API, and great transparency as to what is being mined at what rates at any given time.

If the trouble of securing/finding people to secure the system is just not worth going through, I agree with skunk that it might be worthwhile looking into selling the pool's code (or giving it away, if you're feeling especially generous). You really have created something with functionality above and beyond the competition here; it would be a shame to just see it all disappear =(

I dont have the time to take care of the pool security anymore. The site is constantly harassed from all sides and i dont have the necessary expertise to handle it. Worrying all the time about intrusion and hackers is not fun. So the pool is closed until... i dont know. Maybe it's' time to move on to other projects.

I thought to hire the mintpal security advisor to help, but i was told it's just not a good idea.

Thanks to all miners and renters that kept the pool alive all that time.

Renters with a balance can PM me with deposit address, password and a return BTC address to get their fund back.

what would it take to get yaamp back on its feet? ...

pm if you think that there is a chance to resurrect this fine pool ( and that the details are not for public consumption ) ...

Hello,

Thank you all for these nice comments.

We're open to any offer. Some people have asked for just the domain name. We can sell the code in a one shot deal. We can also give the code and get a share of the profit. In any case, we can help to set it up and for occasional troubleshooting.

Im very happy that there is interest to have other people than me to keep this shit alive.

You are a good guy Mr. Yaamp, I hope that the fruits of your labour can be continued.

I was thinking along those lines too - that you could sell the code, etc. and still keep an interest by having a small share in any profits, seems a sensible way to go if someone (not me, I might add, I'm not much of a coder) wants to take over the reins of your wonderful project. Seems a shame to let it just go into the ether.

This is a sign of the sad state of the Internet today.  Good sites are spending more effort (and funds) on security than on their core functions.  Unfortunately, the core protocols were not originally designed with security in mind and we are all suffering from it today.

Good luck with whatever route you choose.  Miner Control was much richer (functionally and profitably) by its inclusion of YAAMP.  Actually, YAAMP was why I advanced the original tool (NiceHash Control) into its current incarnation to support multiple pools.

BExR exchange rates on your phone's home screen.
Miner Control to get auto algorithm switching for multiple mining services. (please donate if you like)
Could Proof of Blockchain (PoBC) help secure a coin and avoid runaway ASIC mining?

Yaamp.com has been purchased by NiceHash. Mining has been redirected to NiceHash.

Please check http://yaamp.com/ for details.

--------------------------------

only the domain name has been sold. propositions for running the site and the stratum engines are still accepted as nicehash people are good with that.

I gotta say, NiceHash has been rock-solid mining since I switched over after Yaamp had the plug pulled. It has been exactly what I was looking for  Grin

We've got a few good propositions for selling the code. We were actually one click away to close deals. But then the spirit of open source hit me and I changed my mind. We'll release the code as open source. Im sorry for those who lost their time negotiating to buy it. But i did tell them and everyone agreed. Better free than anything else i guess.

So here it is:

https://github.com/globalzon/yaamp

Instructions are a little short and might be incomplete at this time. We'll add them as needed.

If anyone is serious about installing it and needs help, i'll be charging a BTC or two to install it for you.

We've made a good amount of BTC already while it was running. So we give back to the community.

Was great running that for you and thanks all for using our service.

this is probably the best thing that has happened for a long time ...

we will DEFINITELY be using your services yaamp ...

one of our plans ( especially with granitecoin as part of it ) was to setup a decent multipool system ... this seems to be it ...

will be chatting soon - again Smiley ...

i have yet to go home - so very tired since the last chat ...

massive kudos to you mate ...

edit - we should call it something different - but i think yaamp has a nice ring to it anyway Smiley ...

Do these latest developments mean that the domain name "yaamp.com" is now owned by NiceHash, but the code behind what used to be Yaamp.com is available as open source? And the original Yaamp.com will not be coming back?

All the kudos to you for doing that. I really hope to see dozens of yaamp clones pop up, each with its own selection of coins. Interesting times :-)
