The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Recently a lot of talk about Grin. I heard that Grin is anonymous.
If I buy Grin on the exchange, where to store it?  Which wallet to use?

Unless there has been a new release I'm not aware of, you'll need to run Linux.
https://github.com/mimblewimble/docs/wiki/how-to-use-the-grin-wallet

With the popularity of GRIN though, I'm surprised there's no Windows wallets yet!
Maybe because it's not a simple wallet with a public address, a receive button and a send button like, but instead it's using something new and there's nothing to fork (aka copy/paste).
Making something entirely new for Windows surely takes time.

Does anyone have a working command-line for setting bminer to work on grinmint, honoring the rig name ?

I can't get my miners to honor the "username@email.dom/rigname:password" for the command-line, even using escape charachters.

If I specify "user@email.dom:password" I'm able to connect just fine with a worker named "default".

Indeed ! That's strange!
I've been trying to figure it out and let you know how to do it but the miner crashes!

Are you using the Bminer?

Any miner updates? I'm increasing my Nvidia cards but it would be great to hear amd optimization.

Will be on nicehash soon, profitability will be next to zero, was fun while it lasted.

Are you using the Bminer?

Yeah, using bminer.

I can't get it to launch at all by using their batch file; need to manually launch bminer.exe complete with all the command-line parms inside a cmd prompt window.

Super weird.

And even more super weird when I "echo mycmdline > filename.bat" and then go to launch filename.bat, it shit's itself and doesn't launch properly.

Windows is fucking retarded.

EDIT: Again, this is specific in dealing with difficulties using bminer.exe and grinmint.

here is the line in my .bat file for bminer with grinpool grinmint on win10. bolded italics need your email/rigname/password swapped in and all on a single line of course.

bminer -uri cuckaroo29://BOB%%40GMAIL.COM%%2FRIGNAME:PASSWORD@us-east-stratum.grinmint.com:3416 -api 127.0.0.1:1880

i believe you only need the password once when you 1st set up the miner/worker account. but i left mine in the bat file. poor security on my part but im a lazy sob, and i xfer out the grin once a day anyway.

I see discreet accumulation incoming... Right here in this thread.  Grin When moon? Seriously though, I'm always down with any meaningful innovation in the distributed ledger space.

There seems to be a lot of support in the $3 range, for whatever that’s worth.

Grin is still the most profitable coin to gpu mine currently (I think), so it will likely have downward pressure until that is no longer the case, as the network expansion has slowed in recent days. I am extremely curious what will happen when ASICs hit the network, and hope to use it as a learning experience.

$3? Wow, last I saw it was at $7. Looks like it’s going lower.

bminer -uri cuckaroo29://BOB%%40GMAIL.COM%%2FRIGNAME:PASSWORD@us-east-stratum.grinmint.com:3416 -api 127.0.0.1:1880
Thanks ! Got both my cards mining at GrinMint now !
How is the share acceptance? I just ordered another 1070 to pump that hashrate up.

The 1080ti moved over about twelve hours ago, and the 2080ti moved over about six hours ago.

EDIT: Also, I'm not sure how I overlooked this, but grinmint has a 2 GRIN min payout.

EDIT2: A few hours later...

It was 0.01 GRIN limit two days ago...

yea i make around ~0.6 a day, did a ~0.6 payout a couple days ago. guess thats out.

i dislike having coins on pools for anymore than a days earning or so, its a pita as youre stuck leaving coin for the pool when you stop under that amount unless you time it just right. inconvenient for lazy sods like myself that like to be able to switch coins/pools on a whim.

the low payout was a main reason i stayed at grinmint.

EDIT: @BobLawblaw minimum payout is why you left f2pool wasnt it? great, now you brought minimum payouts to grinmint. nice going Bob Cheesy

EDIT: And Sparkpool wants a phone number to create an account ? Fuck everything about that.

I don't think so dude. I did read something recently about mobile phones, but I'm sure there is a way round it.
Can't find it ATM. I did come across this though:

Quote
Grin payment policy.
Our minimum payment is 1Grin. Grin bill will be generated at 14:00 (UTC/GMT +8). If your unpaid balance is more than 0.1 Grin, coins will be paid to you on 28th of each month.
Attention: if you do NOT bind to exchange, you need to withdraw manually on 28th of each month. If you do bind to exchange, coins will be sent automatically.

Don't like that, and if it's the case I will change pool. Did have a successful withdraw today.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
