These rivalries popped up after the IPL came in to existence. Before the IPL, there were no reports of senior players forming separate camps within the national team. After IPL was started, some of the senior players started showing more loyalty to their IPL franchise rather than the national team, and the franchise owners started behaving as if they are more powerful than the BCCI president. The despicable behavior by N Srinivasan, when Raina decided to travel back to India as a result of family emergency is a perfect example.

Arey camps and rivalry were always there sir ji, even in the old days. Kapil-Gavaskar was famous one. Dhoni-Yuvraj-Sehwag was another one. Its just that nowadays we get to hear more about it due to social media.

If BCCI is looking for a wicket keeper batsman, then the future lies with players such as Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan, and not with oldies such as Dinesh Karthik and Saha.

At least the BCCI is nominally independent, while the boards in South Africa, Sri Lanka.etc are being run by government proxies. Saurav Ganguly (BCCI president) is an ex-India national team captain, while most of the other cricket boards are being headed by people with hardly any connection with cricket. Anyway, what is the point when the ICC chairman himself doesn't have any cricketing connection.

Surely that's the case, even in the bad times of England and Australia, the boards and players were accused of favoring and ignoring players. Even there, some top players retired with dissatisfaction. On the concern of national teams, with a lot of regional and international exposure, it's not hard to predict which of the players would make it into the team and who won't.

An extraordinary win. Every player in the Sydney Thunder has contributed to the team's victory. Everyone expects such a great innings on the T20 formet. Melnourne Renegades' batting has been a disaster. I hope they will play better in the next match.

Even i am not aware of the inside politics or policies and how they are picking the team. There is no doubt that they have abundant of talents as displayed in the IPL and that performance alone might not translate to ODI and Test cricket caliber and consistencies and you cannot expect every player to be proficient in the T20 format. The problem i see with them is the team selection and one pathetic defeat and they were forced to replace four players.

Either they need to provide ample time to the young players and see whether they can rise to the occasion before putting extra pressure to the young player.

You are right.We can look at Zimbabwe and Pakistan as examples. The Zimbabwean team played great at one time. But now Afghanistan will easily lose them too. The Pakistan team was earlier compared to the first tier team. Now they have no glory like before.

You cannot compare the team as Zimbabwe lost their top players due to political reasons and Afghanistan has one of the best spinners in world cricket in Rashid Khan and he will easily fit into any team in the world because of his bowling skills and if a team has a player like that then they can win matches. I still believe that Pakistan has a formidable team in their home soil and we are yet to see a series due to security reasons for over a decade and once that is sorted out we could see them perform well in their own backyard.

Even now Pakistan is one among the first tier team list. Nowadays the performance from Pakistan players weren't that good, and no one is able to make a confident play in Pakistan. We can see the lack of experience, and if I'm not wrong the team is much disturbed with politics. This can be between the players as well as the political influence. This means the able candidates are yet away from the team.

Few months back IPL 2020 ended and in just a couple of month IPL 2021 will start. It will be too early for these two new teams to get everything done. Therefore they will start from 2022 because of time constraints.
