I will not say it was more then a tragedy but I want to ask you if you don't think the claims for the 20 scientists being on bored and their patents being a cause for their deaths is something worthy of looking into and discussing?  I haven't looked very far into it but if I did am I instantly a conspiracy theorists and crazy?  I also heard the the names of people on the flight were being mixed up with people who weren't on the flight, true or not do these issues not deserve being mentioned and looked into.  Is a journalists just supposed to ignore these things for fear of being called crazy for simply doing there job?  Isn't a mystery supposed to looked into from all angles.

What is weird about 20 engineers being on a plane? Whats weird about there being patents in their name? It would be a whole lot weirder if 20 engineers did not hold any patents. Now  I dont know a thing about those other than what I read in this thread, but just from that alone it appears to me they are worthless. Even if they arent, they belong to the company, Freescale, not its employees.

Im fine with people questioning official stories, and I sure wish journalists would do that a whole lot more often, but please, also question the stories that question the official stories.

I don't want to argue specifics because this is not a topic I'm knowledgeable on I just wanted to see where people where coming from mainly.  To answer of your questions.  It's not weird that they were on the plane, what is weird is that they may or may not have had a patent on some seriously advanced tech that could be worth alot of money. Their were claims that they may have been killed for that reason, and no one can explain what happened to the plane.  I find the whole scenario to fall under the context of wierd, simple as that.

It is a fact 20 Freescale employees where on that plane (not all engineers):

Twenty employees of U.S. chipmaker Freescale Semiconductor were passengers on a Malaysia Airlines flight presumed to have crashed off the Vietnamese coast, according to a company statement on Saturday.

The employees, among 239 people on the plane, included engineers and manufacturing staff, many of whom travel regularly between company facilities in Tianjin, China, and Kuala Lumpur, a company source said.

RussiaToday planted several weird conspiracy theories about that, that make no sense at all. They had some talking head insinuate those engineers worked on super secret stealth technology that could render any plane invisible (seriously) and there have been versions of the story involving electric car patents.

Freescale mostly makes embedded micro controllers for automotive and RF chips.  While IM sure there are patents in the name of some of those victims (but which will be owned by Freescale) there is no shred of evidence for the above fantasies.

1. Their refusal to reveal details about the last location, i.e radar sighting near Pulau Penang
2. The appalling treatment of the passengers' relatives. They were not allowed to talk to the media

If there is a coverup going on, my bet would be on this scenario: Malaysian traffic control loses contact with the plane, they see it making sharp turn back into the country's airspace, someone important thinks it's a terrorist attack and military shoots it down.

Shooting down an aircraft would causes massive amounts of debris. I'm sure they would've found some of it by now.
