Its been days since this dude reported seeing the plane burn and 12 hours since the chinese confirmed debris via sattelitle near the oil rig dude coordinates. Why the fuck no jet has been scrambled to check? Its like they want this plane and everyone in it to fucking drown. Something is not right Always makes me laugh when people refer to jets as being 'scrambled'.

If anyone is interested, and has spare time to stare at photos of empty ocean, there's a crowd sourcing effort to trawl through satellite images of one of the search areas. Yesterday they were showing a set from March 9, today they are showing images from March 12. It can be found at https://www.digitalglobe.com/ top of the page. At least now if people are complaining "I wish I could do something" you can send them there.

We should post this on one of the image boards. The guys there already spend most of their time browsing through countless pages of images.

They released tonnes of satellite imagery to the public. They did get a bunch of tips that didn't pan out, but it was worth a shot. At this point, anything is worth a shot. Even though I doubt there will be a happy ending to this story.

Latest:
-Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 is still missing, some five days after it vanished in the air near Vietnam. -The Wall Street Journal is reporting that U.S. investigators suspect the aircraft may have kept flying for about four hours after it disappeared from civilian radar on Saturday morning Malaysia time. If their suspicions are correct, the plane could have travelled far beyond where the search is currently focused. -Malaysian and Vietnamese aviation authorities have flown over the area where Chinese satellite images earlier showed mysterious debris - both say that no trace of the missing flight was found.

Great summary. I wonder why are all the info is pointing to a hijacking. Well, at least for me.

Another likely scenario which is starting to seem plausible, is that a failure occurred which caused decompression so the pilots and passengers passed out and died out slowly, leaving the plane on auto-pilot till it ran out of fuel and crashed somewhere.

Pentagon official quoted by ABC news said that the warship USS Kidd is moving to the Indian Ocean, following an “indication” that the MH370 flight could have crashed on Saturday in the area.
They are now considering Indian Ocean too.

follow up : farcical hunt for Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 continues. US investigators believe the plane may have continued for four further hours after its last sighting — a claim that Malaysian authorities have strongly denied. Malaysian authorities say they have spoken to both Boeing and Rolls-Royce, and they both confirmed that the plane’s last ACARS transmission was at 1:07am, and at that time the plane was completely healthy. The radar blips at 2:15am (near the Strait of Malacca) and again at 2:30am, after being confirmed and then denied, are being investigated yet again. China released satellite images of the purported wreck of MH370, but Malaysia’s transport minister said they were released by mistake and ”did not show any debris from MH370.” The reasonable question to ask here would be WTF is going on ?? and most importantly, How on earth, with all our technology, do we lose a giant plane?

I think this indeed might be a likely scenario for flight 370.

It's interesting how Malaysia can discount China, USA, Vietnam... and everyone else's theory - but they don't know what happened. How can you discount a theory if you don't know what happened?
