His hashrate is equivalent of 1000 Radeon 290.... or 6000 intel haswell cores

Most likely explanation is a botnet.

I read that the devs of BCN use botnet to make fake demand for this coin. Is it true ?

Hi, just started solo mining BCN and got many in just one day  Wink
Problem is, that next day i checked my wallet, there was 0 balance Huh I am pretty sure i closed bytecoind with »exit« command the other day, so it should save balance. Does anyone have any idea what went wrong?

It seems that there is someone out there with an enormous amount of hashing power.

This screencap is taken from Minergate.

Operators hire their botnets to the highest bidder, or use them to mine cryptocurrencies or break passwords.
There are known botnets with hundreds of thousands of computers under their control.

noob questions. ...than why they do it such a visible way.. in the pools? Would not be better to do it on their private pool or something like solomining?

I like Bytecoin (BCN). BYTECOIN.ORG the best to mine with MinerGate

"Solomining" is much less possible as the botnet miners on the affected PCs are likely to be just the mining software which is dependent on centralized control center (I might be totally off though). Thus, it requires a pool. I assume it is way more convenient to use the existing one than maintain yours.

This screencap is taken from Minergate.

So there is at least one person that controls more hashing power than the whole Bytecoin hashrate. This makes Bytecoin quite insecure to use at the moment (not to speak from the other low hashrate cryptonote alts).

Also since there is a pool with more than 51% hashrate, we are effectively using a central authority, not a decentralized network.
I would advice everyone hashing at bcn.extremepool.org to swap to a smaller pool for the good of the network.

One more reason to start supporting smaller pools.

Yea, i have the same problem. It doesnt synch! Transactions seem to work fine but i dont know if mining works.
