And still...Nunes got her win, not as fast finish as people expected,
but victory was still clear, on points, and she was dominant in this fight.
Dana White said he was praying that fight would be stopped, as he was worried about Felicia Spencer health.

One more win for Neil Magnay also, with nice odds.

Great fight and win also for Sean O'Malley and he got a 50k bonus.
12 wins and 0 loses for him so far!

I did not expect Felicia Spencer to have a chin like she was able to take all the strikes from Amanda Nunes, the striking and take down of Spencer was not  what i expected as Nunes was able to throw her around easily and stuff all her take down and reversed some of her attempts. I made a bet for the fight not going the distance but Spencer was able to survive and when she had a huge hematoma in her forehead and the doctors came in i thought they would stop the fight.

I wish the fight that fight took place in New York as they would have stopped that fight seeing that hematoma  Cheesy.

A coach can only be as good as how well his student listen to his coaching, in all of the fights Cody Garbrandt he lost the fight as he was not following the game plan rather he was fighting emotionally and he got the bad end of the result when he went wild and started to trade with the opponent, he would have won those fights if he could keep it technical rather than trading wild blows.
I'd like to see a video or an article that supports your claim of Cody not following what he's instructed to do.
In their first fight, Cody had all the momentum and almost won in R1. During the break, I remember Duane telling TJ to forget about setting up the kick and just throw it (something like that). Then we saw Cody getting dropped from a kick in R2 and that completely changed the direction of the fight.
When i am betting i watch all their old fights and i noticed that problem with Cody Garbrandt, he is super technical but sometimes he drops his hands and moves in head first, all of his knockout losses were the same, hands down moving in and getting caught. So there is no article regarding it but my take on his fights, if he could control his emotions and be technical he could still be the champion rather than hands down approach to elite fighters and today he proved that he could come back and win with a wonderful knockout.

Here is the only video i could find with all of his losses, just watch the sequence and what he is doing in those situation before getting knocked out.

It's more of a habit rather than him being emotional. He drops his hands while his chin is up there when he attacks and he does the same in fights where he won.

Watch that last part in his fight with Assuncao. His hands were also down while his chin is up. Assuncao connected first but his punch landed on the chest. Had that landed on the chin, Cody would have been the one lying on the floor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wyg7bwpGG04

I missed the event aswell as I simply forgat that Nunes was fighting last night but anyway I saw the replays and was a tight fight but in the end the winner was correct choose by the referees (judges ). What do we think about McGregor twitter ? Do we believe him that he's gonna to retire ? Not so long ago he accepted Silva challenge and now he's retiring because he knows "the game behind the scenes" or he knows that his glory days are past him ?

Nunes vs. Spencer was a tight fight? What? It was a very dominant performance by Nunes and she could have won by TKO. I am actually doubting that you watched the replay as you said. Maybe you should watch it for real.

Also, the referees do not choose the winner. They raise the fighter's hand but it's the judges who scores the fight and decides who wins in case it goes to a decision.

Yea I saw only highlights but I'm download right now the event to see what really happened. Nunes is a beast for sure and I was expecting a K.O. in 1st round or 2nd at least but I'm glad she won anyway. Regarding McGregor, I don't think Dana is loosing any talents...the young ones are already there and they're already impressing ( Adesanya per example ) even if the fight against Romero was not so enjoyable to watch.

Nunes dominated the fight. Spencer manages to avoid the straight jabs only after shes hit and it happened many times in the fight.  What is amazing about Nunes is that she can throw punches but also manages to escape the takedown attempts after it, every time Spencer tries and then let her pay the price. I didn't see spencer throw the elbows which some speculators are saying.

Nunes compeltey dominated the fight and Spencer never had an answer to her stand up game and some of the punches threw by Spencer were really awkward and she failed taking Nunes to the ground and once that was established i thought it was a matter of time Nunes ends the fight but someone Spencer was able to hang on till the end.

What do we think about McGregor twitter ? Do we believe him that he's gonna to retire ? Not so long ago he accepted Silva challenge and now he's retiring because he knows "the game behind the scenes" or he knows that his glory days are past him ?
McGregor is having a lot of money with his proper 12 whiskey business and he does not need to return to fighting if he really does not want to and McGregor is known to change his stance every now and then and he announced his retirement earlier and this is his second one, hence it is not a big surprise.

That knockout was insane, actually I wasn't expecting that since both are exhausted already. I thought Felicia can endure all the damage until the end. Amanda prove to us that she remains that pound for pound champ in the women's division, no doubt about it. My question is who do you think can stop Amanda now? I look on the rankings and I haven't seen contenders who can beat her (IMO).
Great fight and win also for Sean O'Malley and he got a 50k bonus.
12 wins and 0 loses for him so far!
What he did is very impressive. What I see on him is a slimmer, funny (because of his rainbow color hairdo) and a little bit drugged (he looks dry compare on the first time I saw him, peace yow) McGregor Cheesy. Nevertheless, I love his fighting style. He looks so relaxed and very technical. I get amazed as the commentators analyzed his knockout punch yesterday. I am now craving for more Suga Show!

Yes,,, a lot of sites were giving odds on Nunes KO on first round but the best odds I could see was x4 on Sportsbet,,, which suggests she can only do it in 1/4 games, which means statistically she should not have done it, and the actual match proved to be right.

And McGregor retire again? Boy who cries wolf, this fella,,,!

Probably not. He seems to announce he's retiring every time something doesn't go his way. Maybe he's got more legal troubles coming up as that's what happened the last time he announced his retirement. That's the trouble with twitter as well. Think about something for a minute then post it in the heat of the moment for the world to see. With that being said, he's reportedly made a billion from his Whiskey company, but I would be surprised if that's true. Brown-Forman who owns Jack Daniel's plus a load of other brands made $733 million in 2018 and Proper 8 isn't going to be anywhere near them anytime soon in terms of sales and brand recognition and McGregor hasn't provided any other sources other than his own mouth on twitter so I'd like to see some receipts before I believe that.

It's going to be a shame if he didn't fight again. He claimed he was going to fight three times this year and there's plenty of opponents for him who would all give him a good fight like Fergeson, Masvidal, Diaz and Gaethje. I'm sure Khabib would happily fight him again if the money is right. Fighters seem to be getting greedy these days asking for insane amounts and I'm sure all of those I've just mentioned are wanting big paydays along obviously with Connor. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this is just a bargaining tactic with the UFC to get more money either, ie pay me big or I retire for good.

He probably didn't need to fight after Mayweather if it's only about the money. Besides, people like Connor burn through it fast. Why not sign on for a few more fights and get a huge payday? Looks like Mayweather is also clamouring for another fight with him now and why not because it's the easiest money both of them will ever make.

I bet he had good stakes at his whiskey business and from the business insider it is really successful and he made multiple millions last year alone. I am yet to taste his proper twelve whiskey but with the way it is selling out all the time, i assume it is really good and with a business which is booming like that he does not need to fight as he does have a business that is running successful and if McGregor has an itch to fight again he is having a lot of contenders.

Hey guys check this out! Will McGregor retire for real Shocked?

Whether this is real or just a threat, one thing is for sure. Dana is losing talents right now. Bones then Masvidal and then now Conor? He must do a quick response if he really want to save his huge money makers lol. But sadly he is doing nothing, it seems that he is not bothered of these shocking news at all.

Hmm, do you think Conor will do it or it's just his tactics to demand more from Dana. Your thoughts?

Source: https://www.espn.com/mma/ufc/story/_/id/29277164

No one is thoroughly retired in the sport of MMA hehehe. GSP, BJ Penn, the Dominator and other fighters have fought in the octagon again after retiring.

I speculate that Conor's problem is not money. He is adrift in the lightweight division. He only wants to fight Khabib, however this requires another fight versus Tony Ferguson or Dustin Poirier or if Justin Gaethje is injured.

Yup. We've seen many fighters come out of retirement if offered a fight they wanted and at the right price. Nate Diaz is another one who will fight again anytime.

~

Pretty sure Khabib said numerous times that he doesn't need the money that he will get from fighting Conor again. His response didn't come across to me as asking for more money. His father said something like "if the price is right" though. Interesting.

^ In both cases, Dana says it time and time again not to believe anything that's being posted on social media. What fighters say is not exactly what's happening behind the scenes.

About fighters retiring, why don't we make a short list of fighters calling it quits because of reported disputes with UFC pay.

Code:
Henry Cejudo
Jon Jones
Jorge Masvidal
Conor McGregor

GSP is the only fighter who truly walked out of the UFC when he was a champion because of other fighters cheating with PED and he returned just to make history to win another belt and then retired again and the only way he is coming back again is to fight Khabib if not he is completely retired. BJ Penn was a really sad case as he took a lot of punishment and he was just a shadow of his past. The situation with Dominick Cruz is that he was injured and he was not fully retired.

I speculate that Conor's problem is not money. He is adrift in the lightweight division. He only wants to fight Khabib, however this requires another fight versus Tony Ferguson or Dustin Poirier or if Justin Gaethje is injured.
The timing of his retirement is obvious that he wanted to be the headline just after the last fight of UFC 250 and now the talk of the town is Conor McGregor  Cheesy.

I don't know what his stakes are but it's not something he owns completely and is more like a partnership. He could have anywhere from 10% to 50% or maybe even more or less. Selling out of the product doesn't mean much though if there's not much supply to begin with. You can't even buy it in the UK yet (apart from Ireland).

Pretty sure Khabib said numerous times that he doesn't need the money that he will get from fighting Conor again. His response didn't come across to me as asking for more money. His father said something like "if the price is right" though. Interesting.

He probably doesn't care that much to fight him but everyone has a price. I'm sure if he was offered his biggest payday yet to fight him he would. He might not need the money but I'm sure he could do something good with it.

I thought his whiskey was available in the UK as McGregor is advertising the whiskey all the time even during his fight promotions, i thought McGregor had major stakes in the whiskey business and he is earning money with it on top of the $100 million he earned with the Mayweather fight and i am sure he made some good investment with the money he earned.

Strange that you cant find proper 12 in UK, because every day I see a bottle of it in my local shop near office. Cost about 33-36 euro.
It is not that you cant buy it, this is all about negotiation with distributor, seller and local market/taxes. Strange that all that cant come together, because I’m sure there will be a demand on it.
Alcoholic drink can be called whiskey, if it was held in the cask not less than 3 years. When was proper 12 introduced? During Khabib vs Conor fight? That means it was produced minimum 3 years before, in 2015. That year Conor fought Jose Aldo and earned $1.5kk, Siver, Mendez. He did not earn that year that much to buy whiskey distillery by himself (I guess). So that means he doesnt own Proper 12 for 100% Smiley
