Long awaited fight between Santos and Teixeira. As I remember, their fight was postponed twice due to both fighter were tested positive for covid-19.
Another chance for crystal chin to remind that he used to be a heavyweight champ. I think Arlovski  should retire soon. His record in last years does not look impressive. But, Andrei in many video on youtube said he will fight "till he have strength". Don't know if he should really test his strength in UFC, as there are no easy contenders there and with years, his reactions, skills and head (*caught* chin) will not be as it used to be 10 years ago.

@FinneysTrueVision. The skeptical me is thinking that Khabib retired only to increase his performance fee. He knows this will increase to $30 million to fight for 30 - 0 versus Conor or GSP hehehe.

He doesn't seem that bothered about the money and think he has stated as such before. If he was he would have fought Connor again for the biggest payday of all time. Regardless, he would have still got his biggest payday for the next fight with or without the retirement announcement especially against someone like Connor.

Agreed but to come out of retirement to fight GSP, however hehehe. It was also complicated with Conor. Khabib did not want to give him any opportunity after the insults made to him and his father

Also, how the hell did Bisping pass medicals and stuff and they not spot he only has one eye. Would he have been allowed to fight if that was discovered?

I dont know. But he got that injury in 2013. Here it is said that he got surgery in 2013 also. He retired in 2019. How he managed to compete? Dont know. Why docs allowed him to continue - maybe it is ok to fight in such injury according to rules, or if the fighter is comfortable to fight like this. Rodrigo Nogueira managed to fight without 1 of his ribs and part of liver somehow...

Well they have to undergo medicals before fights and surely they can't have missed this for so long. I'm sure they test vision. I don't know whether it's permitted or not to fight with one eye but why wouldn't he have told anyone about it? It would likely effect things like insurance if it hasn't been disclosed. It's certainly a massive disadvantage to fight with just one eye and fighters usually have real trouble in the cage when they can't see out of one eye because they either damaged it during the fight or blood is pouring into it effecting their vision. It puts your equilibrium off and not to mention you can't see some punches coming or not as effectively.

I think Texeira could be live here.  He's more active and he's been looking good lately.  Santos on the other hand has had two major ACL surgeries and he's been away for like a year and 4 months after the loss to Jon Jones.

Can Santos KO Texiera early in the fight?  Sure he can...  But I think the market has Texiera way undervalued.

Even if Khabib Nurmagomedov returns i do not think that he will be willing to take on Conor McGregor as he completely dominated and finished him, i would love to see him return and defend his belt a few more times as the debate of GOAT is going on and if he is able to defend a few more times and take on Tony Ferguson even though it is one of the cursed fight in MMA history and if GSP is willing to come back then it will be the biggest fight in MMA history.

The funny thing is that Israel Adesanya is calling out Jon Jones but avoid to fight him and now when Jon Jones vacated the title he is moving up to claim that title, a fight against Jon Jones will be the biggest fight because of their animosity and if it is prime Jon Jones he will smoke Israel Adesanya and that is where the interest is in this fight.

I do believe he can beat even Jones but he needs more time and more muscles.

You can call Israel Adesanya being smart, he was creating all the hype and challenging Jon Jones for a long time and he was vocal that he needs time to move up in wight class to face Jon Jones and now all of a sudden when Jon Jones vacated his title he is moving up, now he thinks that he does not need time to prepare for a heavier weight division because the champion is not Jon Jones.

I wish to see Jan Blachowicz defending his title a couple of times before allowing a super fight to happen because that would have created more hype for this bout.

Same thought here. Like WTF is Dana thinking agreeing to this fight? Yeah the champ already agreed but what about these two? Throw out everything else for the bigger PPV I guess?


So I was wondering what changed now? Both Jones and Adesanya challenged each other before but why did Dana failed to make a deal for both? Surely that would have brought more PPVs than other title fights. He probably see Blachowicz as an easier target for his new cash cow.

I am hoping for some good fights in this UFC event.
Main event Thiago Santos (21-7) vs Glover Teixeira (31-7) is hard fight to pick, but I think it will go for Thiago Santos.
He lost last fight with Jon Jones but it was split decision and he proved he is top level fighter.
Teixeira 41 and five years older but has good recent record with 4 wins and last with Anthony Smith.
Odds are low and suggesting that Thiago Santos will win, and I predict it will be with KO.  
      
Don't forget to watch prelim fight Giga Chikadze vs Jamey Simmons.
I expect this will be great fight won by Giga Chikadze.

I was surprised with the Andrei Arlovski win, he always had a glass chin and even if you look at this fight i thought Tanner Boser landed more shots in the fight and i was surprised when the judges gave the fight to Andrei Arlovski. Expecting more of your picks in the future.

Glover Teixeira fought like i expected him to fight and Teixeira always had a great chin and even at the age of 41 he was able to absorb the punches and it was the best fight of the night even though he got dropped twice but pushed through and submitted Thiago Santos. Dana White did not gave this fight any bonus which surprised me.
