BITMAIN ….. Can we please get a statement on the upgrade path for the S2 ? I just seen in another thread that your sales department is pushing the S3. Are you going to be able to make good on your "inexpensive upgrade path" or are you going to ask us to ditch our S2's for a whole new box ? Its mid June, and a few other vendors are starting to overtake your deal … Just looking for a reason to hang tight .

the group buy was denied by bitmain themselves, they no longer offering bulk purchase discounts for us, the last closed groupbuy for $1650 was the finale

Maybe they just don't have enough.

Did you read the thread ?

See below ..

WaldoHoover

Well, in theory I offer hosting services so this could be a physical unit and/or hosting along with it if that was needed.

With that said, I'm in talks with Bitmain regarding getting an S2 GB going and they are actually more interested in working with me on a next-gen product.  Shocked  Lips sealed

I know that's not the news everyone was wanting to hear regarding the S2s but I'm still trying to work something out with Bitmain to help out all of you guys who have been replying and contacting me directly.

I'm going to begin tallying everyone's interest and will post more in here/or start a new thread.

end quote …

also if you rewind this thread and read, Bitmain stated that they had a next generation low cost product upgrade due out soon …

does 1721 seems like a good deal to get a potentially buckled, crippled miner with awful support & 'more virtual coupons' if your rig is a lemon?

I'm a positive 6/6 on my S1's and from my lurking on the forums it seems that the lemon risk has been reduced since the earlier batches.  Truth is whenever you order something from over seas or across continents there is risk for damage but its generally acceptable and not excessive.

As for me I think I will take the leap on the S2 soon or the next batch for Dragons, price dependent.

If you haven't purchased from BITMAIN before then you may not realise that its common for you to recieve your parcel before they even have a chance to update their web site to say its shipped.

Bear in mind that 13:58 your time might be the middle of the night China time (unless of course you are in China) then you can give them a little leeway.

Have you tried emailing them before throwing your toys out of the pram here? (Bear in mind its the middle of the night there now)

I would have to agree.  The Bitmain website is not always up to date with shipping information.  I have gotten a product from them before receiving the shipping information.  Have faith!  Bitmain is solid!

There's always the risk of damage in transit regardless of the vendor, but my last S2 made it to FL in perfect shape in 3 days. Bitmain has always responded to my emails so I can't complain. What rig would you suggest instead?
