I just checked cricinfo and they are showing Live India Vs Pakistan Match ?  How is that possible ?

Sideeffects of locked down coming out very quickly  

Edit: This match was played nine years back on this day so just because of this they are doing this all today.

Not only cricinfo, but star sports was playing this full match (not highlights) on their channel.

Due to this lockdown, many people may lose their jobs like espncricinfo commentators who did the written commentary on all the  live matches, have nothing to do these days (except today  )

Yes there will be more matches like that, the first match they did was the Benson & Hedges World Cup at Melbourne, Mar 25 1992 between England and Pakistan and the second match was 2011 World Cup 2nd SF between India and Pakistan, there is no clarity on what match they will be doing next but they seems to involve major matches during World Cup tournaments.

Even when i saw the first retro match showing as live i was thinking that they are playing the veteran matches during the time of virus scare and when i saw the scoreboard then i understood that they are just replicating the old matches and copy pasting the old matches as live  .

@JSRAW first of all that’s not possible unless the person has never watched cricket, and is dealing with a local bookie who’s clever enough to trick him into betting in this match. @BitSat19 this is not a live match mate it’s an old match so why would people bet on this when they already know how it ended?.

Why add Live and mislead the viewers? Struggling to survive I guess that is why they are using such tactics to lure viewers and calm down the advertiser.

Folks.. it is not just Cricinfo, which is doing these "RetroLive" and "Virtual Reality" matches. A few days back, another website was showing the virtual match between the PSL finalists. I don't blame them. There is not a single cricket match ongoing at any part of the globe. On the other hand, football fans have the option to watch the Belarussian Premier League. Too bad that cricket is not a popular sport in Belarus.

It is really bizarre and people are loosing their minds confide to their homes for weeks without any booze or cigars and i will not be surprised if some bookies open up a betting line  .

Nothing interesting going on, things are getting worse it is frightening to look at the news because the death toll keeps on increasing.

Even the sane will loose their minds in these situation, the government should open up wine shops and provide home delivery during quarantine so that people will stay at home rather than torturing them . The suicide rate is on the high because of withdrawal symptoms of alcohol and already two took their life in Kerala, German minister Thomas Schaefer took his life because of the pressure and many more bad news to come.

Sri Lanka was a really good team, capable of giving strong competition to big 3 teams and India had a weak bowling attack (especially in the pace bowling department). And back then, Virat Kohli had just started his career, and was being overshadowed by heavyweights such as Gautham Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.

Srilanka was a good team back then. They had good bowlers and good batting line up and it was really possible for them to beat India. History cannot be changed, India won that match comfortably.

Sadly current Sri lankans team is doomed and seems minnow whenever they play against the India. They do have some good young blood who can bring srilankan team back to life so there is still some hope left for them.
