The ICC should ban South Africa, not for government interference, but for the racial quotas in cricket teams. South Africa was banned for almost 3 decades during the apartheid era. What happening now is not much different. A majority of the players in the national team, as well as the first class teams are based on the basis of race (6 out of 11). This racial quota has transformed the South African team to a laughing stock.

I am against the quota system but to ban the entire team and taking away the livelihood of the players it is a hard thing, we are living in 2020 and things are not good as every country is facing some or the other issue and these quotas are created to appease the general public by the political system and it will destroy the entire infrastructure and destroy the game.

You can have quota system in education and jobs. But it is really ridiculous to have this system for the sports teams. As far as South Africa is concerned, ANC is in power for the last 26 years. Now it is the non-African groups which are getting discriminated here (Asians, Colored, Whites, San.etc). And also, ethnic Africans have historically shown less interest in cricket compared to the other groups. For them, the favorite sports are football and rugby. And there is no evidence to indicate that any sort of racial bias exists in South African sports.

If the people of Sri-Lanka love cricket, then their tournament will be a success. Look at Bangladesh, they are not a large country like India or Australia. But their Premier League is very lavish and glorious. Because their people love cricket. So, they do not lack sponsors. After many years, Sri Lanka Premier League is going to be held. I pray they will succeed this time.
You can't really compare Bangladesh with Sri Lanka. The population of Bangladesh is around 8 times that of Sri Lanka. On top of that, there are large and affluent Bangladeshi diaspora communities in Western nations. And despite all this, the BPL has struggled to stay profitable. Another issue with Sri Lanka is that there is hardly any cricket infrastructure outside the top 3-4 cities.

I want a fair playing field for everyone rather than giving any favors and the world is all about competition and there is no doubt you need to help the talents that are underprivileged because of financial surroundings, other than that it is silly to give any special favors in any field let alone educations and in a highly competitive job market, everything should equate to skills rather than the color of your skin or religion and once you deviate from that you are not getting the best in any field.

According to ESPN-Cricinfo, since the end of apartheid more than 50 South African players (including non-white players) have moved to other countries, due to the quota system in cricket. I think the condition is the same in other sports as well (rugby, football.etc). I don't have a problem as such with their policy. But I have a problem when the ICC suspends smaller boards giving the silliest of the excuses, and at the same time it ignores what is happing in powerful countries such as South Africa. Laws should be same for everyone.

Also ask yourself which match would you pay and watch in the stadium: South Africa vs Australia or Australia vs Afghanistan?, and most if not all will choose the former, and that’s why ICC will never suspend them, because for ICC revenue is the most important thing.

I agree with this statement because at the end of the day its always going to be about the money and that is why we never seen the big teams play the lower ranked teams. I can't even remember the last time Australia played a lower ranked team like Afghanistan and even Zimbabwe and even when we do see this the series is very short like 2 - 3 games only. That's why now we see Australia play India a lot more then back in the 90's early 2000's where they normally played every 4 years or so but now we are seeing these two teams playing a lot more within 2 years for ODI and test matches because it brings in the big money.

Pakistan & Zimbabwe ODI series will start today in Rawalpindi Cricket stadium. Babar Azam will be the captain of the home side for the very first time and i hope this change will bring good results for the team. Just a reminder that Zimbabwe tour of Pakistan will consists of 3 one day internationals and 3 T-20 matches.

IMO ICC could address this problem " Revenue + Exposure to lower ranking team" by encouraging cricket boards to organize more Trilateral -Quadrilateral series for limited over cricket (T-20 +ODI). It sounds much more interesting in comparison of bilateral series and it solves revenue crisis for everyone. I am afraid For test match ICC can't do much because its all comes down to competitiveness. The best they can do is introduce Group system in Red ball but everyone loves status quo so i am not expecting anything for next decade or so.

Is anyone watching the ODI series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe? I just found out that Pakistan has lost 2 wickets for 92 runs, they are batting first. Abid Ali and Babar Azam are both out. Pakistan will win this match as Zimbabwe won't be able to stay long on the wicket because of their weak batting line up.

Very average performance from Pakistan, and they are at 261/7 after 48 overs. BTW, can anyone tell me why Fakhar Zaman is not in the playing XI? Is he injured? The Pakistani top order was disappointing and only Haris Sohail and Imam-ul-Haq got half-centuries. Let's see how their bowlers are going to perform. They should aim for a big win, by bowling out Zimbabwe for less than 150.

I don't understand why you call it an average performance ? Zimbabwe have lost 4 wickets and the overs are running out of their hand. I am sure Pakistan will easily win this match by big margin of at least 80-100 runs.

Then i would call that is a good score. But against a team like Zimbabwe ,it is a very poor score. The Pakistan team should have scored more than 300. I can't be satisfied of them even if they will win the match. Even if Zimbabwe lost the todays match, i would still think they should consider themselves winners. Scoring above 250 runs against a strong team like Pakistan is a big achievement for them. Pakistan should improve their performance else Zimbabwe team can give them upset in the future matches of the series. However Shaheen Shah Afridi took 5 wickets and was the star of the evening.

I agree with you. Zimbabwe played much much better. 255 is not a bad score against a bowling specialist team like Pakistan. But i expected a better innings from Pakistan. If they won't able to improve themselves and can't give a bigger target in the next match then i think they will lose the next match against Zimbabwe. First of all, a win is a win and the winner is Pakistan. This was just the first match and Pakistan will further improve in the coming matches. Zimbabwe did played well but it is hard for them to beat Pakistan in their homeland.

The way Brendon Taylor was going to play, I once thought Zimbabwe could easily win the match. Because Zimbabwe doesn't play so badly. The whole world knows that it is very difficult to lose them in their own day. Two hundred and 81 runs was not too much. With such a good bowling line-up like Pakistan, they are able to score 255 runs.

Look at the Zimbabwe bowlers. None of them have any experience. I have heard about Blessing Muzarabani a few times, but none of the other names sound familiar. If against such an attack Pakistan can't make a total of 300, that too at home, then I am not very optimistic about their chances against big 3 teams. The victory margin was also quite small and unimpressive.

Batsmen and bowlers both need to perform well in the tomorrow's match and they cant count on Shaheen Afridi to rescue them always.

Zimbabwe will bat first in the 2nd ODI. They are looking to bowl under the lights and give their opponent a tough fight if they are able to make some good runs on the board.
Zimbabwe side remain unchanged for this match however Pakistan team has made a couple of changes in their line up. Haider Ali and Musa Khan are making their debut in today's match.
