AFAIK, it's because of their lackluster. They've been into that situation that's near to the belt but they fell short. Each team has their own style of cleansing or shuffling if there's really need a change.
And to this point of asking if their staff wants to stay, they'll just let them stay.
Almost have that chance to win a title, but then again they've failed. The management may be aiming to know if the team still willing to stay not sure if what inside the mind of the people behind this but likewise it's more on trying to cleanse and make a much better chances next season, it's still for the good of the team and the business.

Let's all wait for further information about this possible revamp or any changes from the team in the coming new season.
They're almost there but failed and that's why they want to filter if their people wants to stay with them. We're going to see those players that would like to stay with them.

I like to bring it here since we have to specific thread for this.

What do you think about this latest news of KAI SOTTO?

Kai Sotto declares for 2022 NBA Draft

Does he have a chance to be drafted? if there is, how big and on what team?
He has and he's listed but it's still going to depend on the NBA teams if they'll be getting him. So it's like going to be a choosing portion for all of those teams. Hopefully, let's wish him luck so that he'll reach his dream journey of playing in the NBA.

The reality is, Kai Sotto is not even on the early list of 283 candidates that the NBA released who filed for the NBA draft. We understand that it's really not easy to be included on the list as you really need a hyped name plus maybe, a good agent, to become one of the prospects. But for sure, on that 283 candidates, it's impossible that all of these are all ahead of Kai Sotto.

I'm sure there will be NBA teams that will give him a chance, maybe not in the NBA but in D-league which is a good place to enhance his skills first before entering a much bigger competition. But for that to happen first, he should be listed and that's the hard part. He really needs luck here as just imagine, there are even good players that didn't have a chance to be drafted into the NBA.

I admire his effort to build a name when he left the Philippines to push for his NBA goal. I hope he will be rewarded someday.

It is an honor and pride of a Filipino if Kai sotto will draft into NBA next season but just easy among all the listed players will be drafted, not all are good as Kai. But I think it also maybe nextime he will be drafted or maybe  there's a team who will get him to play with them. So far his performance tells to everyone that he is good enough to participate in NBA. As a Filipino ill support him to become a NBA player.

AFAIK, while he's on Adelaide, there's one scouter from the NBA that has seen him already and that's why a hype was built on him. But we really don't know if that has chosen him as prospect.
But just as we hope, the kid has gone that far to be drafted and he worked hard for it and ignored other opportunities for this growth. Going in the D league would be his one way ticket to NBA but it's also possible that he'll get drafted there directly.

That's something that influence his decision, or his agent might smell something from their radar and let him join this draft, Kai was love by the Adeline fans and they wanted him to stay for another year, he still young and linking him to possible PBA draft is also not impossible to happen, he got a lot of options and if fate give him that luxury to play inside NBA.

It will be a good recognition of a pure breed pinoy competing internationally, something that we, all Filipinos, will be proud.

Just remembering how Yao Ming bring that noise to all the Asian neighbors when he spent his career inside Houston, and Jeremy Lin
who will forget him right?

Who knows, maybe Kai will be an import from one of the PBA franchise...

I like to bring it here since we have to specific thread for this.

What do you think about this latest news of KAI SOTTO?

Kai Sotto declares for 2022 NBA Draft

Does he have a chance to be drafted? if there is, how big and on what team?
Rumors are still not good, claiming Kai is not the favorite and he’s not even on the list of Mock draft for 2022. With regards to this achievement this is already a step closer to his dream to play on NBA, so whatever will be the result I’m sure Kai will not stop for aiming more, this is a good exposure to us and this can boost a lot of Filipino players to dream higher and of course, to be better. The chance is there as long as you’re part of the draft list, but its hard to tell on which team.

In fact, and actually if the NBA will decide to get Kai, it's like getting the Philippines to the NBA, and that is good for the business because Filipinos are a big fan of basketball. I don't wanna lose my hope yet, I'm still optimistic that Kai will make it.

That's true, they might be able to improve their market in the Philippines if they have at least one NBA player coming from the Philippines. It's been a dream of the Filipino to see a homegrown pure Filipino NBA player and Kai is very close to that dream.

The nation is on support of Kai for his dream because it's not only his dream but our dream as well.

I'm not sure if they are back operating in the Philippines again because I read a news in 2018 that NBA are closing its stores in the Philippines.

https://sports.inquirer.net/314388/nba-close-ph-stores-august

Quote
The NBA Store is closing up its shops here in the Philippines this August.

The SM Megamall and Ayala Cebu branches will close on August 12 and August 15, respectively, while the TriNoma branch will shut down on August 30, according to a post on NBA Philippines’ Facebook.

So, if they still don't re open their business, maybe Kai would be able to help them start a fresh business again.

Yes you are that mate Filipino is the one of those big fans in basketball not in PBA or other league but also in NBA and if that will happens kai sotto will enter, / drafted in the in NBA for sure it's a big rumors here in the Philippines. Cause it's a big pride of the Filipino if he will be in NBA. But what we saw his name is not in the list. In my own opinion maybe the facilitator of the NBA game decided that next year they will get kai cause he is still young to be part of NBA nowadays .

Precisely, it's not just a single dream but the hope of every pinoy basketball lover, seeing a homegrown star

making his way to NBA, no question about that most pinoys, if not all, will be happy or support Kai's journey, but the sure

thing here is the majorities are likely to love the way Kai is closer to his dream. And if he manages to enter or being drafted

he will bring the flag and the pride of each pinoy who loves the game of basketball.

Who knows, maybe Kai will be an import from one of the PBA franchise...

He can't be an import in the PBA because he is a Filipino so he can play as a local if he wants to.

Yup, there's a hype on Kai Sotto that is why he decided to enter the draft but it remains to be seen if he can be drafted as the drafting process in the NBA is very much different from the PBA, I mean in the NBA they really look for talent that will fit for there team. I have seen players who have a profile same as Kai but don't prosper in the NBA so I think he will just end up the same.

But I also hope that destiny would be good to Kai and he became the first pure-blooded Filipino to be drafted into the NBA so good luck to him.

He just went through the process and hopefully, he'll be successfully draft with any team or with the team he likes. Does anybody knows what team he likes to be drafted on NBA?

Who knows, maybe Kai will be an import from one of the PBA franchise...
He's good to avoid it for now, there are too many opportunities for him abroad.

With the other posts that I've read, those posts said that the roster and staff will tell if they want to stay or not. And if that's the case, that means that they're going to give each of their staff and player to tell if they're willing to stay with the team or not.
I guess if that's the case then there's no forcing for them to stay and everyone is free to leave as they say. It's all about the free will that they give and I think as a team and company, if that's the condition, it's a good one.

What's the sense of asking that question in the first place to their players and staff? If some of those will request to be moved away, that's an easy thing to request for the management.

Meralco is the one who started here with the talks meaning they really intend to have some players to be traded.

I don't see that as a goodwill from the Meralco just like what you said. There's no need for an exit interview if Meralco just wants to move forward. Smiley
AFAIK, it's because of their lackluster. They've been into that situation that's near to the belt but they fell short. Each team has their own style of cleansing or shuffling if there's really need a change.
And to this point of asking if their staff wants to stay, they'll just let them stay.

Let's go to the finish line. If the Meralco is really decided to reshuffle, what's the sense of exit interview if those people who are being asked are already considered to leave. For example, Meralco told Maliksi that they will trade him but in the exit interview, Maliksi said he wants to stay with the team. Will it change Meralco's plan and decide to keep him instead? The same goes for other players and staff.

This exit interview is pure of non-sense by Meralco. As if that will change the future of the players to stay on the team.

The brother of Matt Ganuelas-Rosser is expected to be the top draft pick in the upcoming PBA draft next month.

He is Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser who also plays at PBA 3x3 tournaments.

At the height of 6 foot 7 inches, he will surely be targeted at those teams who will have the opportunity to pick early. I hope he will be picked by Converge (former Alaska) for talents to be spread out at all teams and not just within SMC and MVP teams.

Good for him, I hope he is a complete player that could shoot as well.

Matt Ganuelas-Rosser is good also but he is not good in offense, he is more focused on his defense, and these days, teams would be more interested in a player that could play on both ends of the floor. I think I gotta see some highlights of his brother as I don't know this player.

Well, we don't know what's in their mind. If they're willing to trade then during the interview, they have already said that and the player would make up his mind to allow him to stay.
We don't know what's going to happen with all of them but the next conference is coming. So whether you think it's nonsense, it's okay and if I think that's brilliant for them asking who's willing to stay for their careers, it's also okay.

Yes you are right that mate its better that the next PBA draft must calculate the advantages of of the players and those who are the best or stronger player must be draft in lower forming team like Alaska or black water so that these team has a chance to claim the victory and maybe next season they will became a champions. This 6.7 big man if it will draft to Alaska for sure they will became a strong again and they have a chance to give a good match against the stronger team.

And afterwards whoever get Rosser will be force to trade him with these two giants franchise, we already witness all those talents who enter this league, they all ended up playing with either Pangilinan or Cojuangco group of companies, though let's give converge a chance in case they will be able to pick him and give him a good offer to stay and to compete.

They are still new to this association and they are willing to spend a decent amount of money to really show how serious they are.

For now, we will wait for further updates and for the opening of the next season.

I agree with you, this exit interview is non-sense IMO. Whatever the players will/have said in the interview would not change the plan of the management if ever there is because the talent level of the players won't improve through interviews, the management has to trade so that they can get the positions they want to fill in.

Have read in my social media feed that all of the players of Meralco are vulnerable except for Aaron Black,  Grin.

Not a good news.

Converge not making a move for Slaughter, denies trade talks with Magnolia

Quote
THOUGH in need of a big man, new PBA team Converge isn't jumping into the Greg Slaughter sweepstakes.

Converge governor Chito Salud said they respect the current negotiations between free agent Slaughter and his mother team Northport Batang Pier, even if the talks have taken an acrimonious turn the past two days.
I thought that Greg is a great candidate for the team as he is currently free agent if I'm not mistaken.
Greg proved his worth with NP, so for a new team, I think he is a big help to make a successful debut... anyway, let's just follow updates regarding this new team.
