This is what I like in Game 3 of the series between Magnolia and TNT. The game is unpredictable even though there are times that both teams have a nice lead. We can both teams give their best to catch up once behind and make the game close as possible.

I have noticed that both teams have their players not on their usual performance last night:

TNT = Mikey Williams
Magnolia = Paul Lee

But Mikey Williams still have the good numbers last night and he's not known for having 2 straight games at worst. Paul Lee on the other hand seems not on his usual playing level. He was even considered "dinadaga" in Pinoy terms on that Game 3 match where he is not supposed to feel that.

Mikey Williams still have good numbers and there's Castro to save his butt, it was a veteran shot that Castro took knowing that they don't have a timeout and the adrenaline rush is really needed, a winning shot that he always capable of doing nothing to say but he still the old Castro we know, tough heart with full responsibilities to whatever the risk that might happen after that shot.

Good thing that it favors them and a winning shot happens for them to lead the series again..

I'm liking the Magnolia despite the fact that they lose in this game, they were eager to win and they played great defense all throughout the game. Abueva also showed consistency, so game 4 for sure is going to be a close game and hopefully Magnolia will win to even the series.

Well, if you think they'll be able to win the series, first they have to even the series first, and that means they will have to win in game 4. There's no betting lines yet but I'm sure Magnolia will still remain as the underdog in game 4, so Moneyline odds is going to be attractive for sure.

I thought that magnolia will take the lead but Those winning shot by Castro showed to us who is he before and now that win was a surprise because we all know that magnolia lead 2 points but under 20 seconds of the game Castro still take care and handle the ball with a fatal shot.

Actually, aside from the game, it is the sudden win or loss that makes it exciting. It is just too bad that luck did not go in their favor.

Imagine how Meralco backers feel when that last shot went in. They might have given up already and accepted the loss but suddenly they won. What a great feeling that is.

The excitement is really there especially in the last minute of the game, the shot is the deciding shot which result to a loss for SMB and a won for Meralco. In gambling its normal to lose and win so you can’t expect to always win and you have to be ready for the result especially if the good teams are against each other, we can expect a different result against our bet.

I don't trust this, they cannot repeat what they did in game 1, so it's either Meralco will win or SMB will win but will fail to cover.

I like that +2.5, the last game was very close, so if ever another winning shot will be made by Castro, that +2.5 is surely a big help for the hotshots to cover the spread.

Indeed! there's nothing that we can do after that loss but to move forward. I get that point and it's true there is always the other side and they are the one who really enjoyed the outcome. For sure, they are really hoping for that last shot being taken, and they did it. Collecting and withdrawing the win out from that last shot.

Better luck next time and try to analyze the next game, maybe handicap or ML will do.

TBH, I'm going with Meralco this time. I believe that they will take Game 4 though there is always a chance that SMB will win and cover this spread though I don't believe it will happen because in the last 2 games between these 2 teams, the winner won by double digits and it's only in Game 3 that the lead is only a single digit. Well, let's see as the game will start in ~45 minutes from now.

After what happened in Game 3, the cover is now +2.5 and I think it's good since we know that the Hotshots are capable of winning against TNT. Game 3 was a hard fought match and either team will take the lead. Magnolia almost got it but the last shot of Castro really went in and that sealed the deal. Let's enjoy while watching the games later .

They are moving the ball well and they also got a good defense that's really give them the upper edge.

Hopefully Magnolia will win gae 5 to extend the series, but it's really a tough match-up for them once the Texters start to heat up.

I was hesitant to bet on Meralco prior to the game. Their odds is @2.90 to win the game while SMB has only @1.4 if I remember it right. I have a feeling that Meralco will bounce back but I don't know why there's something that stopping me on doing that. What a regret but it's ok since we don't know in the first place what will be the result.

Meralco Bolts has an early attack did against SMB and they did a great work on putting SMB behind a big lead. But along the way, SMB manages to bounce back on the 2nd quarter and cut the lead to even 1 point. Meralco however bounces back at the half and repeat what they did on the 1st quarter putting again SMB on a big lead. They now maintained it until the garbage time and got the win.

Should be a choked game for them if Meralco loses that game despite getting a big lead the entire game. It's clear that they can take down SMB. No cooked  moments here but Meralco is just draining their field goals and that is something referees can't control.

It's not just on today's game but Poy Erram is also the key scorer last Game 3. Prior to that, he's also consistent on getting good production. Magnolia is focus on Mikey Williams and actually they did a great job limiting the main TNT guy offense. But even with that, Williams is not also the person to be taken care of and that gives Magnolia a big problem.

Calvin Abueva and Paul Lee is the missing key players from Magnolia. Marc Barroca is literally lifting the team and not getting much help to the supposed teammates that is expected to be a big help to the team. While Magnolia limits Mikey Williams, the entire TNT limits Magnolia's usual performance in return.

Hard to win 3 consecutives games straight against TNT. It's now possible for TNT to win the series and will go to Finals I guess.

3-1 is a big difference because magnolia need to win 3 games, while TNT need only 1 win to advance to the finals. It's difficult for the coach and the player also for magnolia to defeat TNT cause not only mikey willams they need to guard but also Erram, troy Rosario, Castro and pugoy . These guys need to be guarded because this player can carry their team.   Magnolia need to have secure plans and moves  in order to win in this season.

I thought San Miguel Beermen can somehow make the game close as after being behind by big points in the 1Q as they were able to rally at the 2Q. CJ Perez and Marcio Lassiter are some of their key players that do the job for them why they were able narrow the lead. I just can't imagined why all of a sudden their momentum got broke and that's the start of Meralco getting back to their momentum.

But if I remember, SMB still got cut the lead at below 10 points in the 3Q but that's it as Meralco just continue to drain their shots. Meralco also established a high-scoring first quarter game with 36 points and if my calculation is right, there was around 5 3's they made in just 1Q. Not sure about it though but the first 9 points of Meralco was 3 consecutive 3 points shot as I skipped watching the game during that time and began to watch again in 2Q.


With that Meralco win, I'm now opening again our AFC Champion Outright bet for those who wants to bet on Meralco. However, Meralco bettors should reach Php 5,000 bet. The deadline of placing bets for them is 5 minutes before the Game 5 starts.

A win away to return in the finals but of course this is not the end yet for Magnolia, if they can be more consistent in the next game maybe they can even the series but we should not expect that much from them because TNT really dominates the series. Most of the players of TNT are doing great, from offense to defense that’s a total team work and the result is really good for them. TNT going to the finals is more exciting, hope they can finish the series in game 5.
