So here is the current situation. The Ukrainian army is trying to retake the smaller cities such as Kramatorsk and Slovyansk, where the protestors number only in a few hundreds and are armed with nothing more than baseball bats. Right now, they don't have any big plans for the major cities such as Mariupol and Donetsk. The protesters there number in thousands, with some armed with AK-47s.

Yesterday there were reports of defection from Slovyansk. Hopefully a majority of the Ukrainian soldiers will defect, a la Crimea. This is the only way for avoiding the bloodbath. |

Yesterday there were reports of defection from Slovyansk. Hopefully a majority of the Ukrainian soldiers will defect, a la Crimea. This is the only way for avoiding the bloodbath. Unfortunately, there are traitors in the protesters ranks. Mayor of Slavyansk tried to make a secret deal with Right Sector, but she was exposed and fled away from the city. |

They kill just one armenian guy, he left 2 sons. And in Slavyansk shooting was one misterious guy found dead with Kalashnikov, no idea who he is. Local fisherman? |

Not surprising. The Ukrainian army has been severely underfunded for almost two decades now. Most of the experienced troops have defected to the Russians. The remainder don't know how to use a tank.  That is why they are importing Blackwater mercenaries now. |
