There is nothing to stop you starting a new vote. I don't know if Qora will follow the result but voting is how we decided to stay closed source so it makes sense if you want it open then you need to at least win a vote on it. personally I'll wait and see what Qora wants to do.

I have read roughly through the thread and I saw many say it's NXT code based. I won't risk till I know that is not true, it's common sense.
Qora has had voting for a while; Nxt still doesn't have voting in its core. Nxt has had an Asset Exchange for a while, Qora only just got its AE, and it has significantly different features (eg trading asset for asset rather than asset for coin). Nxt and Qora are now different enough that we shouldn't worry if some of the code used to be the same.

When he says Qora is not based on ANY other code and he claims he knows almost nothing about NXT then I'm taking him on his word. I want the code released to show it's not related to NXT not that it is. What the guy is talking about is simply based on FUD and rumors, it's not what has been communicated by Qora.

Don't forgot Jean-Luc(NXT's core dev)'s comment which hint qora may develop from NXT's early version. I don't believe this at the beginning, but as Qora dev always avoid to talk anything about the code and ignore any request to open the source code. I gradually think it may be true.

It doesn't matter whether Qora is original code or a clone. What matters is the coin must be built by the community. Take Dogecoin for example, it's a simple clone of Litecoin/Bitcoin source, but the community is engaged in making it a success. NXT could be another example, although at a smaller scale, but it's also original code, so it doesn't count as an example. As for Qora, sadly, there is no community. The best code is dead without people.

He said that qora probably took some ideas from one of early versions but made absolutely new implementation. Since Qora had name service with trading right from the start, voting system soon after and different ae now it doesn't matter if qora used nxt ideas. Qora is the most advanced system at the moment although Nxt has been launched 7 months before Qora.

Qora is the most advanced system at the moment although Nxt has been launched 7 months before Qora. Which was based on what seemed like a 5 minute check. The important thing is that Qora has said he based it on no other coins source code plus he said he has no knowledge of NXT, many times he has asked others how NXT worked etc cause he claimed he didn't know even basic facts about NXT. If the code looked like it was heavily based on NXT I personally would be disappointed cause it means our developer is a liar. Which I see no reason to believe that is the case. The code being revealed early was all about showing this was a uniquely made coin at its core. If not its just like NEM, NODE, etc which I'm sure are massively influenced by how NXT worked. People have forgot why this coin is possibly the best thing in Crypto for years. Disclaimer: If the code has been influenced by NXT then I want to know if Qora is BCNext or I'm selling instantly.

But Gandi did not want answers based on trust in personalities, so I tried to point to some objective facts. Mind you, it's hard to say whether a coin is a "scam coin" because that phrase gets bandied about so much it has lost its meaning. Certainly an Open Source coin could still be scam. And certainly Qora has put in many months of creative coding effort, which the true scam coins don't bother with.

12,5 btc for 5000 gh/s. Could you provide any calculations of profitability? Because of the falling price, BTC hashrate stopped growing and I don't expect it to rise so significantly in future as it was 3-12 months ago. Part of the return will be reinvested in hashpower. I expect ROI in 2-3 years and still generating nice amount of Qora for holders and shares having some value.

And it may be developed from NXT's early version. I don't think he has any reasons to still keep the source code closed. Without the source code review, we can't tell the protocol is good or not.
