The community tends to talk about after the wallet being reworked. Some of the benefit of OS has already been lost IMHO but still it will show people hopefully that Qora is unique but so many coins in the last couple of months have claimed that and open sourced the moment has passed where anyone gives a shit about it. If only they had open sourced quickly after the buzz around Qora would of been massive and ridden a wave into the top 10 coins. People like to say I'm wrong on here but that's how I believe it would of gone if we had gone OS at the right time, I told the community so many times it needed to be done quickly and before the wave of 2nd gen coins coming out. I got tired of receiving abuse so gave up trying to make people see sense.

Qora dev will open it when the community decides it should be opened or when the dev himself decides to?

Qora mentioned some kind of reorganization of Qora. Any update about this?

It was a bit of both. Originally the investors said not to open source and that is still the concenus of the big holders but Qora left a cryptic note saying that the direction wasn't working so I am not too sure what that means. Either way we are gaining traction and if people started doing things to promote Qora instead of feeling sorry for themselves it would help.

Qora ultimately can do what he wants but he initially said he would go OS a month or two after the release for the coin to get established first. Apart from that he has given the decision making over to the community through voting but the truth is only 10% vote and clearly they were mainly muppets. A new vote cant come sooner enough for me personally but at this point you may as well get the wallet looking nice first. Like I said I believe the moment has passed anyway. I'm angry the community managed to make a stupid decision so everyone's investment suffers as a result.

Either way we are gaining traction and if people started doing things to promote Qora instead of feeling sorry for themselves it would help. It was not the consensus of the big holders at all, the vote was a small percentage of vocal people like yourself that banged on and created FUD with the idea that there were people waiting in the wings to run off with Qora. This IS about promotion, putting a rainbow signature doesn't make anyone buy shit, you don't understand the average investor. The best thing you and a few who pushed the vote one way should do is openly say you were wrong and suggest we radically change tact and OS ASAP, That would be worth a million rainbow sigs (face palm). The reason we know also some wanted to hold things down is they were happy to skim off cheap Qora for the last few months not caring that they were damaging the long term price of Qora. Renat0 being the biggest one and also yes the biggest and loudest one attacking me everytime I mentioned OS. groan..

I have done what I can to help this coin. This means forging my balance over the course of 4 months to protect it. This means buying up over many millions of Qora for people that want to dump. This means trying to get James to setup assets on our AE. This means paying people to make games/services for Qora .
Tell me 1 thing you have done apart from mouthing off investors for not pumping the price?
Go back to your hole.

Well apart from using my last 10 BTC to rapidly buy and push the price that triggered a big rally on Sharexcoin. (no sly selfish buying in tiny bits to keep the price down for me ehem) I've mainly been on here trying to stop people like you not make stupid decisions and ruin my 10 BTC investment...so far I admit I have failed. Prove to me you can do something truely sacrificial and not for yourself by buying up the sell wall with all your cheaply gotten Qora. Then I will call you Pondsea The Patron Saint of Qora.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Qora 'community' looks upon Qora as a backup of NXT, that's why there are no meaningful efforts to make it popular or expand the network of nodes, etc. Basically, if Qora investors already have invested in NXT, why would they kill their own investment and develop a competing coin which by the way doesn't offer any new features (different GUI is not a new feature)? Their line of thinking is: should NXT fail for some reason, they will have Qora software and their coins in it to replace the failed NXT. It's not like there is a large inflow of new investors to PoS cryptos and most of them buy some NXT first as the most established PoS crypto. Same goes for NEM/NODE/Crypti.

smaragda,
what have you done for Qora? Let me guess, 'nothing' would be just about right? Like most other proud owners of Qora coins, so what's wrong with my theory?

Peercoin is a PoW/PoS combined mechanism and uses a completely different PoS algo called 'coin-age', which supposedly has this Nothing-at-stake issue that bitcoiners refer to. NXT is the first 100% PoS crypto, PoS is different from Peercoin's PoS. Then other PoS, including hybrids like PoI/PoA/etc came along.

But the fact is, Peercoin was the first PoS coin even though it's a hybrid. I'm still undecided about what PoS method is "best" at this point though. Peercoin uses the coin age which really promotes hoarding. NXT has the rich get richer (which I find hilarious given how anti establishment crypto is supposed to be). BC has their new PoS v2 but am still unclear how it stakes but it seems like it's similar to NXT. And now there's Reddcoins PoSV which seems to try and balance the various PoS issues.

I am not sure about the rich getting richer argument. They probably refer to the forging abilities of rich stake holders, well, the forging fees are about 0.5%/year, that's not a significant return to even take into account.
If you bought Nxttycoin when it first went for trading on NXT AE @0.015 NXT, you could sell it later for 10-14x returns, and everybody had an equal opportunity to buy at that time. If the rich stakeholders chose not to invest in Nxttycoin and just use their balance to forge, they'd miss the opportunity and had to do with their measly 0.5%/year return. If they chose to buy Nxttycoin, they'd decrease their forging balance by spending to buy Nxttycoin.
As you can see, there are opportunities, all you need to do is due diligence and a bit of luck. Asset exchange and Monetary system features are supposed to give smaller stakeholders opportunities to advance in this game. That serves as part of the distribution process when large stakeholders who missed on the good opportunities later have to buy stock from smaller ones who didn't miss on those. Sitting on stakes forging a few coins is kinda lame and doesn't add much value to your holdings. Hopefully there are more valuable assets in the future that can be used as this distribution vehicle.
