Bear in mind it expects certain customisations and I will take no responsibility if someone misuses this in the community and creates a new solo pool with it, but perhaps someone skilled enough can fill the gap with it from me closing this pool.

What about we make it a community pool? It would be a real shame to lose both the solo and main pools there a staple on bitcointalk for a lot of members and with the halving around the corner and price uncertainty things could change really quickly in the mining game and it would be a shame not to have this resource here if that we're to happen.

i'm sure a few of us regulars might pitch in to ensure it's continuation.

Who would you trust to administrate it, and how is that any different to the current solo pool? In addition it expects certain customisations and I'm not really keen to hand hold someone into how it works.

That would need to be something that could be discussed in the community if there was interest to continue under such a model of operation.

There are many a good member who has contributed in the topics over the years that I would say both have the skills and the understanding to operate a pool but again this is something we could try solve as a community to keep the project alive.

Why can't we just "donate" to keep the pool up and running, I mean how much would a decent server that will handle the pool cost anyway? or maybe if CK is down for it, he can say use 1% of the hash rate pointed to the solo pool to mine on a PPS pool to cover the server fees and lower the pool fees to 1%, if that is technically possible on his side, this all depends on the cost of the server/resources and whether or not he is willing to do it, let's see what he and the others think about this.

Perhaps if I trim down my commitments to just the solo pool and just the one server in the US it would be more manageable. Then I could set up a better server to cope with the demands as well. ckpool.org had chapters in CN and DE and this had DE as well, so the total servers were adding up and adding load. Let me think about it, but ckpool.org definitely goes.

Yes I know your group runs very well. May as well count me in for 0.03. Did you want the deposit straight up or are you collecting only once there are enough people?

I checked your thread and I saw that you aim for 24 hrs of mining, don't forget the halving is in 13 hours at most, so by the time you rent the power, I suggest you aim for a higher hashrate for a shorter time, so instead of 10PH for 24 hours, maybe 60PH for 4 hours, it doesn't really affect your chances anyway.

Good luck to everyone trying to hit a solo block of 12.5BTC, this will all be history and a few hours.

please send your coins now. in the past we have alwais enouch member for starting a round.
We will see it in kind of "after halving" but if the run will not start i pay all the coins back.

but the idea with shortened time and more power is not bad

Only few hours left and we are planing instead of 24h with 10PH/s to take the max Hashpower we can affort till the halving.
