I am running a lotto miner part time. I have not mined bitcoin for a long time but its been fun to get back in to it and read about the state of things. Since I turn my miner off and on throughout the week/day I am curious if there is some data output you should look at that will indicate its a bad time to shut it down if its incrementally working well on a solution.

does not matter.

Think of a six sided dice and you want to toss a  six.  Does it matter if you do it at any time of the day? No

Same is true with a miner looking to hit a solo block.

Your  mining unit does not care what time of day it is. Neither does the difficulty. Or this pool.

Happy new year guys.
Wish us all the best )

Ok, guys, looks like bitcoin is going for that 100k mark in 2021.
Before that happens, we just have to hit a block!
So lets go for our next solo round.

You can gamble any amount of btc, starting from 0.005 to 0.03.
Minimum 5 participants, maximum 10.

If we find a block, we will split the block reward between all the solo gamblers percentage-wise.

We will start once our group fills, if not then ~ 20 of january, if by that time we will have at least 5 participants.
Write down you’re nickname and send me a pm, if you’re in!

P.s We will also donate 1% to ck from our solo pot, and 1% if we find a block.

I also found that hashrate1m is very unstable on high diff 4334 port.(went up and down from 0-max miner hashrate)
This is not happening on regular 3333 port.
That's to be expected with 1 million diff shares unless you have a veritable fuckload of hashrate as you'll only rarely be submitting shares with normal mining hardware - how can you average over 1 minute when you send shares once only ever 5 or 10 minutes? It still doesn't matter as it makes no difference to your chance of finding a block.

Okay I am still running a few 2PAC miners (down to two now trying to get them stable) and I notice that several of them drop off / go zombie while mining but then come back online. I understand that this is purely a lottery type situation but does this drop off during mining greatly impact the chance of hitting a block?

Since i have about 8 of these should I just let them zombie out and recover or just try to get 1 or two to run stable?

Code:
cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333  --gekko-2pac-freq 100  --suggest-diff 10 -u 1KfQmhug959W79PHfASLym3Z17bJ6ohxNb

Sorry for the newb question but figured I'd ask...

I've pointed here a 0.5PH rent for about a day, and I also started up my "summer cottage heater", which gives me a constant 8TH hash during the cold winter time (it's a AvalonMiner 841 with low power firmware).  Smiley

Fingers crossed! Here blocky, blocky.
Also, happy year 2021 guys! Lets hope this one is better than 2020.

Well, if we get enough people to join, then yeah.
Atleast 5.

Welcome Sledge0001,
with the hashrate of a 2pac, it is not a great impact over all, but your chances go down for sure.
Here is the thread you better ask your question about 2pac miners:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1764803.0
But I think that your psu should be better to make them more stable.
good luck

Yeah I have scanned through all 112 pages of that thread previously but still no matter what I do I can't get these things from crapping out.

I have them attached to a GPU miner running win 10 so figured might as well throw them into the mix.

I'd just hate to lose my chance do to the things dropping while solving... (If I was to be so lucky)

I think you should just go for it with whatever number you have now, the difficulty is going to adjust at which seems to be more than 10% in 4 days, a bitcoin block is well over 200k at current prices, I wish you guys all the best.lko

I can only agree with that. We should definitely start before the next correction.
Is it already planned over which period hashrate should be bought? Should the run last 24 hours? Or is it planned to have more power (like x2 and runtime 12hours?)
1 PH / day is at 0.0069 BTC on NiceHash right now.

Ah and btw, I would join that run for the last time with 0.01 BTC

Our solorun will last for 24 hours, and the hashrate depends on how many people will join eventually.

I can only agree with that. We should definitely start before the next correction.
