The total sum pledged per charity is 146.2 (Cell B1 on my accounting sheet). I'm sure some people won't hold up their pledge because they've forgotten about it by now, but I suspect we'll still get close to that number, anyway. I guess I'll send a letter to the Freemasons about their charity tomorrow  Perhaps somebody else should take care of contacting any organizations starting with the letter "F" for we've seen what happened with your furry friends, Rassah.  ~Bruno~ |

If you get them to accept Bitcoin, and they are not a political or religious charity (not a church), they will get the sum of all the pledges. I think at this point it's about 145BTC per charity. So, about $600 to $700 of free money just for adding a Bitcoin address to their donation page  Surprisingly, we still have no takers. Cool, thanks for the clarification! I'll give em a try and let you know what happens! |

Great, joshbb! Is there any way can you get them to include a Bitcoin logo button, same size as the PayPal button, albeit small but that doesn't matter at all? Otherwise, we're golden. Great work! Sent groupbstrepinternational 1 bitcoin. I must say though.. the progress is glacial. (No thanks to me.. I haven't hassled anyone to accept in a while) Not long ago - nten.org made a little video about bitcoin, and although it seems like a bit of a 'dig' at bitcoin - It's actually really good that they're aware of it, and the intention really was a mixture of humour and expression of curiosity - not hostility. This is the perfect organisation to help charities and other nonprofits understand the value that Bitcoin brings to them. We really should be reaching out to NTEN so that they in turn can educate their members and help them get set up. |

Er, perhaps spoke to soon. I was under he impression that BTC 100 was 100 people donating a bunch of bitcoin, not a bunch of people donating 100 bitcoin? Some people pledged 1BTC per charity, some as much as 10, so the total pledge amount is 156BTC, of which 101 has been honored to date. At first, there'll be no need to necessarily donate Bitcoin. What's desired, at the onset, is more than 100 individuals stating that they'll pledge (without having to gift at this stage) at least 1 BTC to Bitcoin100 then, eventually, honoring that pledge toward only causes they're most comfortable with, for this endeavor to fully function accordingly--as I currently envision it. The reason for requiring a minimum of 100 supporters is to guarantee, optimistically, that at least 100 BTC rests in the initial wallet when charitable organizations are ultimately approached. That's not entirely true, since the reason the wallet is so big is largely due to some people pledging and donating a lot at the same time, but only wishing a part of their pledge to go per charity. For example, Zhoutong has sent 100BTC, CryptoXChange sent 50, and an anonymous donor has sent 184BTC, but each only wished to pledge 10, 1, and 10 BTC per charity respectively (I didn't move their donations to separate addresses like with Gsan and Teukon because they didn't request it, and it's easier for me to track them all together). I don't think those people want to fund entire 100BTC charity pledges singlehandedly. Without the people I mentioned who have yet to honor their pledges, we actually have 101.854 BTC ready to donate right now. After that, the next round will probably be around 40BTC, unless we get people honoring again right away. |

Only hashing out a couple minor details before we send the first issue to the printer. Although I would love to see a button on their donation page, but that's not a deal breaker. I suggest the same size as their PayPal one, and pay close attention to their color scheme on their website. Orange may that be a good choice in this case.
